What I Wore Lately Vol. 56

Happy hump day, friends! It’s time for another edition of What I Wore Lately! I’ve rounded up my daily looks from the past couple of weeks, and there are quite a few of them, so grab another cup of coffee and get ready to scroll.

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and around 137 pounds, with an hourglass shape. Unless I say otherwise, I’m wearing a 6/28 in pants/jeans, a small in tops, a 6 in dresses/jumpsuits, and size 8 shoe.

What I Wore Lately

These outfits go all the way back to the Wednesday two weeks ago. I had a workout appointment in the morning, and then I took my daughter and a friend to Starbucks. I had back to back phone calls that afternoon, and I never did change out of my workout clothes.

The next day was my daughter’s graduation ceremony. I pulled out this comfortable old dress and metallic wedges. The dress was an #NSale 2019 purchase — Eileen Fisher. It’s such good quality, and I love the fit. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find anything quite like it to link.

Then on Friday, I had my standing nail appointment and a bunch of errands to run afterwards. I’m always chilly in the nail salon, so this cozy hoodie is perfect, but I was rather warm running errands afterwards.

Saturday was a full day of running errands and prepping for C’s graduation party on Sunday. It was also much warmer than the day before, but I had to go to Target and the grocery store, which tend to be cold, so I wore jeans with this cute eyelet-trim tank. I also added this pretty Victoria Emerson boho cuff from Shaeffer’s collection.

I love a beige shoe with white and denim — especially when it’s a shade that’s close to my skin tone. It’s such a simple combo, but I never get tired of it.

These sandals are very comfortable, and I love the braided strap, but the sole isn’t very flexible, so they mess with my feet and ankles after a while. It’s a shame because they’re great quality shoes and they have nice cushioning under the foot, but I can’t wear them when I’m doing a lot of walking.

When I was done with my errands, I changed into a swimsuit and threw this dress on top to hang outside by the pool in the afternoon.

I wanted to wear this pink sweater to church on Sunday, so I threw it on with my white skinny jeans and these strappy slide sandals. I thought heels might look a little too hoochie-mama for church, so I went with a flatter shoe.

But I still felt like the overall look was a little too tight for church, so I switched into this floral tassel tank, but I realized it’s too low-cut. Strike two! I love both of these tops, but they’re going to be in the date night/girls lunch out category for me.

Finally, I threw on this black raw edge tank. It’s looser, which made me feel better, but the v-neck in the back in combination with silky/camisole-like fabric still seemed a little much for church.

I was probably over-thinking it, but I added a denim jacket to be on the safe side. I try to go with my gut in these situations, and I knew I’d feel better if I was a little more covered-up.

Also, my Loeffler Randall baguette bag is 25% off at Bloomies in the black.

After church, I switched into white shorts for C’s graduation party. At least that was easy!

I had a chiropractor appointment the following Monday, so I just wore joggers and a comfy workout tee with my Birks all day. Yes, I’m back at the chiropractor. I messed up my mouse arm again, working too long at the computer without enough breaks.

And I mostly worked from home on Tuesday, but I had to take one of my girls to an appointment.

I included this muscle tank and Paige joggers in my June Favorites yesterday. They’re both such easy pieces to mix and match, but I also really like them together. Black and olive is one of my favorite non-denim pairings, and I also like how the wider straps on the tank offset the wider leg opening on the pants.

I forget what I did last Wednesday, but I obviously felt the need to do my hair. Or maybe I was just overdue and couldn’t put it off any longer, ha! There’s nothing on my calendar except a call with my assistant.

We had family in from out of town for a few days at the end of last week, but unfortunately, Thursday was our only good pool day. I threw on this tee and jean shorts for a while — I might have run out to the store or something. Oh, and these shorts are currently on sale at Bloomies. They’re really soft and comfortable.

Free People Clare camo tee // Joe’s Ozzie denim shorts // Birkenstock Madrid Slides

Then I ended up changing into a swimsuit and this Z Supply dress as my coverup for the rest of the day.

Last Friday was the last day of school for R. It was rainy for most of the day, so I took the girls to the movies. I wore this cozy sweatshirt again, this time with boyfriend jeans and my Birks. FYI, these jeans are 20% off at Bloomies!

We had Paul’s mom up on Saturday, and I put on this black and white outfit after my morning run.

snap trim tank (sold out) // Mother Insider crop flares (also at Saks) // Marc Fisher slides (this year’s version) // Madewell link earrings // Yurman link bracelet

And that brings us to last Sunday! It was still kind of dreary and humid, so I didn’t bother with doing my hair. I just threw it into a ponytail.

By the way, my woven slingbacks are on sale at Macy’s, and my black Farrahs are on sale at Bloomies. These are such a good classic pair of black skinny jeans, and I like the raw hem — they add texture and a little bit of toughness to the otherwise classic look.

I had a photo shoot on Monday morning, and then later in the day, and appointment with my daughter. I was going for a casual but somewhat elevated summer look with this navy and white tie dye muscle tee and white crop flares.

And yay, this tie dye tee has been restocked and marked down to $15!!! It’s a nice quality and easy to throw on and go with shorts or jeans.

And finally, yesterday I had a workout and then a chiropracter appt. I went directly to the chiro after, so I just switched from my sneakers into my Birks.

Zella performance tee // Vuori leggings // Birks

When I got home, I showered off and put on this casual outfit for the rest of the day. I actually changed into a long-sleeved shirt to go to my hair appt later in the day, but I didn’t get a pic. I’m always cold in the salon so I wanted to have sleeves.

And that’s a wrap! I’ve got a photo shoot this morning, and then I’m having a friend over to the pool this afternoon. I’m looking forward to a little mid-week R&R!

  1. I just love your “What I Wore Lately” posts! Your thought process for your Sunday morning outfit made me giggle! I am the same way when I dress for church and would’ve added the denim jacket or a light sweater cardi as well. (plus, our church is always a little chilly). Was at the KoP Mall yesterday and sort of watched for you! HAHA! Not many sales right now.

  2. Great post! I love seeing all of your outfits and your explanations of how they evolve. Just ordered the Loft muscle tee. Hopefully I can wear it for July 4th!

  3. Great outfits! You always manage to turn basic pieces into something more interesting and classy!! Have a great rest of the week!

  4. It would be really helpful if you dated your posts at the top so we can tell at first glance which ones we have read. Just an idea.

  5. Just wanted you to know that I can’t get your posts to open on my iPad. I can open on my iPhone. I noticed that the pictures didn’t come up in the email on the iPad but did on the iPhone. This is a new iPad and I haven’t had any issues opening other blogger posts. Don’t know if others have had this issue. UGH! Technology 😖
Your blog post is the only one I read consistently everyday because I like your style and you do such a great job describing products. Thank you!!

    1. Hi Maureen, that is weird. I reached out to my tech team, and they said this: “not sure what can be done… we would need more information on the os version, ipad version, whether they have updates available, what their internet connection was, etc….. from my tests things are showing fine on ipad (old and new)”

Not helpful, really. I’m sorry. I don’t remember people having these issues before my redesign so I feel like it could be on my end, but I have no idea what it would be.

      1. Thanks for checking. I came back 3 hours later and everything showed this time. I don’t get it but like I say” I don’t understand electricity, phones or so many everyday things we use.”😉
        Have a good day!

  6. I like that you shared with us the process of deciding what to wear to church Sunday before last. I would have felt the same way as you regarding the first two tops. I am liking the muscle tees more and more. If I needed to fill a gap in my closet, I would buy the beautiful WHBM top. I hope that the chiropractor can get your mouse arm back in good shape! Enjoy the rest of your day!

  7. Are your white Birks in this post the “antique white” shade? I need some white slides and they are very cute; love Birks, have two old pair. Unfortunately, just received the Sam Edelman white slides like you have on today but will have to return, they are not working with my instep somehow, hurt the top of my foot; loved the look though. Thanks for all your fashion advice, great post!

  8. Love your expression “casual but elevated” – will use it! These posts are great! Glad to know that im not the only one with a mountain of clothes on the bed when I dress up. Love the Loft tie dye tshirt but its $50 CAD for us in Canada… bummer!

  9. When I click on the link for the navy and white muscle tank I don’t see the price markdown, maybe I’m doing something wrong?
