What to Wear with Mint Jeans

Pastel jeans are very much on trend right now, and it’s a nice alternative to white denim, but I often get asked what to wear with mint jeans.

My go-to answer is white or ivory. I’ve seen some ladies pair navy with mint, and it looks great, but I haven’t found the right top yet. I tried a few of my black tops, and they didn’t quite do it for me either, so I always end up revering to white or ivory on top. I really love the muted color palette, and I’m of the mindset, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” (Pardon my southwestern Virginia slang! Ha!)

Last weekend, I was in White House Black Market, and I came across this white ribbed asymmetrical top. This is the perfect accompaniment to mint or pastel colored jeans, and it has just gone ON SALE! It is marked down to $64.99 and then it’s an additional 40% off that.

SALE ALERT >> White House Black Market just added a ton of items to their 40% off sale, including this blue embroidered romantic top that I have. (I have the medium.) It also comes in this pretty teal. Sizes are selling out fast, so jump on it while you can! They also have these super cute mint jeans on the 40% off sale. I saw them in the store, and they’re very pretty. If I didn’t already have a pair, I’d have grabbed them.

This top has two layers. The bottom layer fits more snugly, and the top layer skims the body nicely. I love that it’s one and done — no cami or shapewear needed!

Here’s a view of the back. Pardon the wind-blown hair. It was a bit of a blustery day when we took these photos.

Here are some more white tops on sale at White House Black Market. (The prices below aren’t necessarily updated; they are all on sale.) I’m so into white tops this year. They pair perfectly with pastel and other colored denim, plus they look effortlessly chic with blue jeans.

For jewelry, I wore this versatile three-in-one Aurelia Pendant from my Stella & Dot boutique. It has three parts so one fills the neckline and the others are longer and help elongate the upper body. The silver hardware is pretty against the white top, and the mother-of-pearl inlays are a classy touch. I added a few Alex and Ani bangles because the delicate style works well with the necklace.

I’m wearing the medium in this top. I tried on a small because I often wear small at White House Black Market, but I felt more comfortable in the medium because it was more forgiving.

I wore my white BP. Luminate dress sandals to keep the outfit dressy, but a wedge sandal would be cute too. My crossbody is sold out, but this and this are similar.

My husband got me the T3 Curling Wand for my birthday, and I’ve been experimenting with the different attachments. This is the biggest straight barrel, and I like how it gives me looser waves rather than curls.

  1. You look HOT! I love this outfit on you. And it’s a great, fairly simple summer look that you’ve made glamorous.

  2. For some reason, I always think asymmetrical tops are so flattering—-on everybody! And this one is is a great length. I just got one from WHBM, but it’s quite a bit longer!
And I don’t think these jeans are that much longer than the pair yesterday—it’s just the shoe comes up higher in the back?

    1. So I took my pictures from yesterday into the Adore Your Wardrobe group and asked about them, and we figured out the issue with those jeans. It isn’t the length as much as it is the leg opening. These are narrower. I did cuff these just a smidge because the back of these shoes come up high and were catching them, but with wedges, these jeans look great. The white jeans from yesterday work better with shoes like this or with pumps. Wedges are awkward. So these jeans may be slightly shorter, but the taper at the ankle is slimming, whereas the white jeans stick out at the bottom and cut off the leg in an odd way… all that to say, I may see if my tailor can narrow the ankle a bit.

      1. Ahhh…that makes sense.
I hear what you’re saying about how they flare out (but really not that much), but it also might be nice to leave them this way so you have a little variety. I just got white jeans that are like that at the bottom and it was nice because I could roll them up to mid calf for a different look.
        Just my opinion…

        1. I have done that with these, and it looks nice. I also like them with pumps and maybe even with sandals like I have on today. I just think they look awkward with wedges. So I could keep them and get another pair of white jeans for wedges… but realistically, I wear wedges 90% of the time. LOL! If I wear flats, I usually wear the distressed cropped ones. SO I was hoping not to add another pair of white jeans to my closet if I can help it. Why is fashion so complex? LOL!

  3. AWWW-you look so pretty!! Thank you for showing us busty girls how to dress in a flattering way! The layered necklace is so cute!!

  4. I absolutely LOVE this color. We have several college visits coming next month, and I think this would be the perfect color to have. Summery, and not so boring! Thanks so much for the inspiration!

  5. Layered top–what a GREAT idea! Love it when I can just throw something on and look pulled together. Pastel jeans are so pretty – glad they are in. Thinking I will wear mine today! Thanks for the outfit inspiration.

Like your layered necklace. I’m very impressed with Stella and Dot. Love their styles and appreciate good quality products. Must be hard not hold back and not buy everything. LOL.

    1. Yikes my computer got trigger happy! I didn’t hit the “Post Comment” button. Sorry for that grammar above. What I meant to say was “Must be hard to hold back and not buy everything.”

  6. Love this look – and nice to have options for a variety of white shirts other than t-shirts too. Sounds like you are liking the T3 curling iron 🙂

By the way, does Stella & Dot ever have sales? I like a lot of their pieces, but they are rather pricey.

  7. That top is really cool! Yes, I said that word! The fact that it looks like two tops, but is only one and the hem line make it different than most stuff in my closet. Being 50 plus, I love a top that still makes me look feminine and like I have a figure, but at the same time hides the bulges. This one looks like a winner. Great outfit! Thanks for sharing. – Amy

  8. Thanks for talking about what to wear with the mint colored jeans. I have just ordered a pair from Talbots on the red hanger sale. I have a khaki and white top I bought last year from Chicos Outlet that I plan to wear with them????. White and navy are good idea. Thank you.

  9. Thanks for posting your picture and your minty jeans! It inspired me to take mine out of the closet to wear them today to work! I like to pair them with a black and white top. I think that looks really smart and oh so chic. Thanks for all your suggestions!

  10. After a year of searching, I finally found my mint crop jeans at White House Black Market. They are made with thicker material so no show thru of lumps and bumps. They were also on sale at a steal for $30! Can’t wait to style and wear them.
