What’s New at LOFT: Stylish Picks to Love This Season

Happy Monday, friends! LOFT has some great new arrivals, and I’ve picked out a few of my favorites to share with you today. These pieces are versatile and stylish—perfect for giving your wardrobe a seasonal update, and they’re all at least 30% off. Whether you’re dressing for work, weekend, or anything in between, I hope you find something here to inspire your winter style.

Before we get started, I wanted to let you know that I have a Reader Survey I’d love for you to fill out, if you haven’t yet. It will prompt you sign in to Google, if you want it to save your answers as you go, but there’s no need to do that in order to participate. It’s totally anonymous, and all questions are optional, so it shouldn’t take much of your time unless you’re inclined to share more—and there’s space for that too.

The information I gather from this survey will help me plan blog and newsletter content, select products to feature, and determine which brand partnerships to accept in the coming year. Thanks so much! And now for the new arrivals at LOFT I have my eye on…

  1. I have the red sweater jacket. It fits nicely, and I am looking forward to wearing it soon, either with blue denim or black denim pants.

  2. For years I really had no clothes to style or place to wear them. I was at home with my kids, or working in jobs where your clothes got dirty and you had to wear shoes that could be scuffed and battered, and our budget was minuscule so what wardrobe I did have was mostly hand-me-downs from my godmother, aunts, and friends of my mother’s. Good-quality clothing, but definitely not my style or the style of anyone my age.

When things began to improve for me in the 2010s, I realized I still had a very 80s attitude toward clothes, since that was the last time I was a fashionista. I tended to be very matchy-matchy and rigid. It didn’t come naturally to mix high and low styles, for instance, or to combine more than one color plus neutrals, let alone colors that weren’t a perfect tonal match. It took time! At first I watched What Not to Wear religiously and tried to mix things like Stacy and Clinton.

Now I get ideas from blogs, and yours in particular has helped me embark on a new frontier: mixing metals. In my 80s, you just didn’t do that. It looked to us like a throwback to the late 70s style of junior high, piling on gold and silver chains, rings, and bracelets with our feather earrings and Jordache jeans at the roller rink! 80s clothes in my locale and social group were all about the “outfit,” every item carefully selected to coordinate perfectly, and jewelry followed suit. I’m enjoying the change so much that I just bought a Jenny Bird mixed-metal bracelet on eBay that reminds me of those roller-skating days- it has five silver and gold chains linked together. I’m going to look for those Loft earrings, too.

  3. The red jacket is so nice. If I didn’t already have a burgundy one from JCrew factory I would order it. So many items aren’t available in my size. I like the two tone earrings too but I have similar ones.

  4. Enjoy the snow! As of now, the forecasters are saying that metro ATL could have some sort of winter precipitation on Friday. If that happens, the city will be a disaster. Loft does have some pretty and classic pieces.

  5. I’m all about the jacket in Oatmeal, and the Stripes. What is it about stripes? Ha! I hope they will continue to have their moment. I am also for mixed metals. Love Loft!
