I get a lot of questions about how to style Converse sneakers so I thought I’d gather up all the ways I’ve styled them over the past couple of years. I wear mine a lot! They’re so comfortable and practical, and I love how easy they are to slide on and go.
I’ll do my best to link exact items, but since a lot of these outfits are older, I’ll link to similar styles when I have to.

Thank you. All cute. I love my converse. They are the pale grey but can still do all you posted. I purchased them a couple years ago after seeing on your blog. So glad I did.
I love the grey ones too!
Apparently I have a gaping hole in my shoe collection…no white Converse! I have gray, orange, maroon, red check, black high top, pink, khaki, and my beloved navy Shorelines. (a couple of those are Vans), but the rest are Converse. Not sure if I’m careful enough to keep the white looking white, however. 😉
And on a completely depressing note, I woke up today to a dusting of snow on the ground. The 15-day forecast does finally show 50s and even high of 60 towards the end, but we have at least a week of 30s and 40s to get through before that.
Haha, a gaping hole in your shoe collection… sounds like you’re pretty well set! I do like the navy ones a lot. I had grey but passed them on to my daughter. I kind of regret that, but she wears them a ton, so that’s good at least!
Any advice on how to clean them? I have keds but have been worried I’ll ruin them. Thanks!
I just throw mine in the washing machine and dry them outside in the sunshine. They’re not as white as they were originally, but it doesn’t bother me. I like them better when they look a little lived in. 🙂
Hi there, thank you heaps for ALL you SO AWESOME Blogs! Quick question, I have white Converse Sneakers too, what are you top tips on the best way to clean them? Thanx again! 🙂

First of all, great post yesterday on the proper length for the different leg style jeans! For those of us that cannot wear Converse, I’m thinking our athleisure sneakers should have a lower shaft and possibly not tie, to create a similar look. Is that the correct thinking? Have an awesome Hump Day! We are blessed to be getting a little rain instead of the horrible storms so many people are dealing with.
You got it! 🙂
I love these looks! I bought converse last year but haven’t worn them because I’m afraid to get them dirty. How do you clean yours?

ALL awesome outfits! I think my favorites are the dresses with the sneakers. I must get me a pair! I have been debating between these and a pair of Vans. Hmmmm…
Love this post! A girl and her shoes…I’ve been back and forth over grey or white shorelines. i think the white might be more versatile! Have a blessed day!
I had both and ended up passing the grey along to my daughter. I wear the white more.
I’m also interested in how to keep the white sneakers white, seems like they yellow sometimes when washed. Any suggestions?

Thanks for this Post. This answers a lot of questions as to what to wear Converse and even Keds with. I have really never liked wearing heels. But a do wear a lot of sandals, flats, and Keds and Converses. Again, Love Your Blog. Have a great day!!

HI Jo-Lynne, This morning I tried to watch your FB Live from yesterday but the link goes to the video but it won’t play. Anyone else having this problem? Love all your converse outfits! Be Blessed!
I love converse. I own a pair of gray and white polka dot pair. They are so cute! And last year I bought a pair of white sequins converse. Love, love, love. I am sure that if Cinderella had had the option, she would have chosen my sequins converse over her glass slippers! Enjoy your day!
Oh I love my converse… but I’ll tell you I bought a pair brought them home and returned them as they were uncomfortable and didn’t feel right… But then I found the converse chuck style… LOVE them and never a blister I wear them whenever possible. Thanks for all the ideas that I may not have tried yet😀
Karen
If you want to clean up the sides and toe areas I use Mr.Clean pads … they’re great😀
So many cute outfits!
I love my Converse Shorelines. I have the white and have been debating about the grey for a while but did you know they come in a blush type color too? 😍
Okay, I might need the blush!
Thank you for always keeping your blog based on reality. I appreciate the honesty that you share and your humorous anecdotes during your Facebook live.
I think they are cute, but mine won’t stay up on my heel.
I love all of the looks that you styled the shoes in! They are so versatile, and cute.

Love the shoreline converse on you but feel at age 56 yrs old people would stare thinking why is she wearing those. I don’t like to stick out but love fashion. About 6 yrs ago I wore a similar style sneaker in red and I never went anywhere without people commenting….all good on loving my red sneakers. I wore them once to my sons high school baseball game and the umpire yelled out to me…. love those shoes. Yikes. They are cute but drew too much attention at age 50 Yrs 🙂 lol. They are still in my closet almost brand new looking. Just too cute to throw out. I even bought my daughter a pair. Don’t think she wore them. They are expensive brand for Ross price of $14. Ok you didn’t need to know all that. Ha ha. Thanks for great post. You look great in photos.
Great ideas!!

Great post! For those of us who cannot wear Converse ( have had plantar fasciitis in the past and need arch support) would you please offer some alternatives? Thanks again!
Hi Ana. I recommend trying Superga – https://rstyle.me/n/c2vwqzgthw or the Vans I have – https://rstyle.me/n/c2vwtqgthw but they still may not have the support you need. I’ve had PF and I know what it’s like. I had to stick with more substantive sneakers like the Adidas Gazelle https://rstyle.me/n/c2vwuigthw but that isn’t really going to achieve the same look. I also had good luck with Ecco shoes — they have some lower profile styles that are kind of nice – https://rstyle.me/n/c2vwxqgthw.
Love your suggestions, Jo-Lynne. I am taking a few style ideas from here 🙂
Great post! I was wondering what your favorite socks are to wear with your converse or vans? I can’t seem to find no- show socks that stay on my heel 😐
I meant to include those! I like these: https://rstyle.me/n/cy7sfugthw
Hello Jo-Lynne ! I am one of your followers and first time leaving a comment. You always look so great and I appreciate all you do to help people like me put clothing together. My son is fixing to graduate from Medical School and I am trying to figure out what to wear to his graduation. I am the same size as you short waisted as well. But my legs are not very pretty! Lol! Any ideas what I can wear to dress the occasion without wearing a dress?
Hey Karen. Dress pants and a pretty blouse would be completely appropriate. 🙂
Nicee and perfect looking outfit..
Love the outfits, but what do you wear with the dark blue (denim) color converse sneakers. They were a gift; don’t want to hurt hubby’s feelings.
Hey Su. I love the dark blue ones! I would wear them with blue jeans or white jeans, khakis, etc. And really anything on top that goes well with navy — red, pink, grey, yellow, white … they’re pretty much a neutral.
