A few weeks ago, we talked about Shoe Trends for Spring 2022, but I’ve had requests for a post that focuses specifically on sandals, so I’ve rounded up my favorite 2022 spring sandal trends and a bunch of recommendations across various price points.
one // two // three // four // five // six // seven // eight
It will be a while before we’re wearing sandals here in Philly, but I’ve already ordered several new pairs, and I can’t wait to wear them in Florida next month. Yes, we’re going back! My daughter is performing at Disney World with the marching band, so Paul and I are going to make a little vacation out of it.
A lot of these styles overlap so I’ll share my favorite sandal trends for 2022; and then I’ve got a roundup of spring sandals with options to save, spend, or splurge!
#1. Wedge Sandals
Vince Camuto Molisana Espadrille Wedge Sandal $99
Wedge sandals seem to go in and out of style every few years, and this year they’re back! I’ve always been a fan of a wedge, as I find them easier to walk in than most other types of heels, and they have a summery vibe that I love — especially when combined with an espadrille style sole like the one above.
#2. Platform Sandals
Jeffrey Campbell Hustler Platform Sandal $135
Like wedges, platforms seem to go in and out of vogue every few of years, and they’re having a moment for Spring 2022. I’m seeing ally types of platform sandals this spring — flats, block heels, and also wedges. I love a good platform wedge sandal because you get all of the height and none of the discomfort of heels.
#3. Bright Colors
Ninety Union France Sandal $75
Neutrals are still relevant, but if you want to be on the cutting edge this season, considering adding some colors to your sandal wardrobe. The brighter and bolder, the better! The pair shown here also has a really fun heel, which we will discuss more in #5.
#4. Square Toe Silhouettes
Jeffrey Campbell Palate Sandal $125
The square toe has been on the fringe for a few seasons, and this year it’s becoming more of a mainstream trend. You’ll see everything from a dramatic squared-off toe to a more subtle shape. The pair pictured above also incorporates the wedge and bright color trends.
#5. Architectural Heels
Sam Edelman Laurette Sandal $140
This is a fun one! I love the fun heels when they aren’t too out there, and this one is a prime example. Unfortunately, the one pictured here is 4″ high with no platform, so I couldn’t walk in them very well. I still wanted to feature them, though, because I love everything about them from the geometric block heel to the cage style slide, and this pistachio color is perfection!
#6. Lace-Up Sandals
Dolce Vita Patli Lace Up Sandal $90
I’m not sure how I feel about this one. It’s kind of fussy to get on and off, but it’s also a fun way to add interest to an outfit. The pair pictured here also has a subtle wedge, which makes them nice to walk in.
#7. Puffy Styles
Puffy styles are back again this season. You’ll see puffy slides, puffy straps, and everything in between! The Anine Bing sandals I chose for this feature look soooo comfortable, and the 3.25″ heel is the perfect height.
#8. Molded Footbeds
Dolce Vita Grazie Braided Slide Sandal $80
Now this is a trend I can get behind! These are practical and comfortable, and while not as flattering as some, they’ve come along way in recent years!

I ordered the Vince Camuto from Macy’s yesterday. I can’t wait to get them! We are already wearing sandals here on the Gulf. Thanks for all your inspiration, Jo-Lynne. Good luck at the dentist. I’m a nervous wreck, even at a cleaning.
I’ll stick to wedge. Some I had to laugh at. Great choices.
Thank you for the “save, spend and splurge” options!
A few posts back, I thought there was a long, sleeveless, form fitting dress that was highlighted. It had a scoop neck and the fabric was black/white horizontal stripe. Does anyone remember that dress and where it can be purchased?. Thanks!
I think it is Loft. It also comes in a light gray stripe.
I’m not sure which one you mean, this one is newer: https://shopstyle.it/l/bFB3z
Do you remember the brand?
I love fun heels and have ordered a couple of pairs over the last year. Apparently, no one tried them on before mass producing them. LOL. They’re gorgeous as long as you don’t try to walk in them! I like platforms too as they give you height but are easy to walk in. The Nine West patent leather ones pictured are so tempting. I’ve never been a fan of wedges– just not comfortable for me. Something about the angle and the lack of flexibility in the sole that doesn’t work with my high arches.
I appreciate the time and research you put into this post for us! There are some fun trends this year.
I LOVE shoes. Every season I have to add new ones whether I need them or not. 🙂
Did you see Bloomingdales has 25% off all Vince?
Yes, I know they’re having a Friends & Family Sale. I did a big roundup of premium denim, and I added a few Vince sweaters, but I didn’t really look at their shoes.
Here’s that post: https://jolynneshane.com/25-off-premium-denim-at-the-bloomies-friends-family-sale.html
Do you have any Vince sandals to recommend?
