Welcome to our 26 Days of Fall Outfits series!
Cyndi and I are teaming up to bring you a new outfit every day of September (excluding Sundays.) We hope these posts give you some fresh outfit inspiration as we transition to fall. I always encourage you to shop your closet first, but if you do want to add a few new items to your wardrobe, I’ll do my best to provide current product links that fit a variety of budgets.
To kick off our 26 Days of Fall Fashion, I wanted to style this utility vest that I picked up at Nordstrom Rack a few weeks ago. It was 50% off, so I didn’t think twice before I grabbed it. I’ve been wanting to add a utility vest to my wardrobe for a while because it’s such a great layering piece, and you can wear it over short or long sleeves or even a tank top.
For my utility jacket debut, I went with neutrals — this grey t-shirt with my dark skinnies and gold espadrille flats. Espadrilles are more of a summer shoe, but I think we can get by with them for a few more weeks. Any neutral ballet flat would work, though.
This Mini Crosby Crossbody in port is a new fall wardrobe addition as well. I knew I’d get a lot of mileage out of this color. It holds just the essentials, so it’s a perfect going-out bag.
(I do wish I’d taken the time to put on a belt. We were rushing to get out of the house, but I do recommend wearing a belt when tucking a shirt in. Also, you may enjoy this post on how to front tuck your shirt.)
Gold accessories and my favorite sunnies complete this casual early fall outfit!
Outfit Details: Utility Vest (similar here or this linen khaki colored one is cute too!) | skinny jeans (budget-friendly option) | grey tee (similar) | Sam Edelman gold espadrille flats (option) | FitBit bracelet | Coral Cay Earrings (sold out; similar) | S&D Signature Engravable Disk Necklace | cuff bracelet (similar) | R Minkoff Mini Crosby Crossbody (budget-friendly option) | sunnies

I love the vest and gray tee with the gold jewelry!! So cute!!
Love all your inspiration, the vest is a definite have of mine.
I. AM . LOVING THIS! So many great outfits and ideas. I’m still trying to pull the trigger on a military coat.
LOL. It’s a nice piece to have for fall, but I only get a couple of months out of it. It gets cold so fast here in PA. I think if I lived further south, I’d wear it more. Hope that helps you make up your mind! 🙂
I’ve enjoyed this series so so much! Love the FB group and the outfits that I can copy and know I will look put together! Thank you both so much for doing this! 🙂
It’s been fun! Glad you’ve enjoyed it. We’re planning a winter series too. So stay tuned! 🙂
A utility vest is a great fall piece.
I love your utility vest! I thinks is so great that both utility vests and jackets are in style right now!
hi New to your blog-love browsing outfits for fall-got a few ideas here so thanks!!!
I really need to find a vest like that, it’s so cute! It’s also smart to invest in quality denim; since I’m on a college budget I’ve been buying up cheap pairs, and it hasn’t worked out too well!
