How to Wear White Jeans for Fall

Welcome back to 26 Days of Fall Outfits! Today is Day 7, and I’m styling my favorite pair of white jeans. Yes, I know, this is 26 Days of FALL Outfits, and Labor Day has come and gone, but you can totally wear white jeans into fall and winter. In fact, one of the most popular posts on my site is how to wear white jeans after Labor Day.

I do like to put away my white sandals and lightest summery fabrics on Labor Day weekend, but I always keep my white jeans handy because I love styling them for fall. Here’s an easy way to do it — add a pair of ankle boots, your favorite t-shirt, and a jean jacket. Boom.

You may recognize these Umberto Raffini Kiki Ankle Boots from yesterday. I love the mushroom suede against the white denim so I couldn’t resist wearing them again. They are super comfortable and supportive, so if you have finicky feet like I do, I highly recommend them. They also have a removable footbed so you can wear your orthotics if you need to.

The grey tee and denim are easy breezy, but you could wear a colored t-shirt as well. Or even white. White on white with the denim jacket and the mushroom suede… that would be really chic! There are so many potential variations on this outfit.

A denim jacket is 3-season definitely a wardrobe essential here in Pennsylvania. If you don’t have a go-to denim jacket, White House Black Market has this dark wash denim jacket on sale for $69. I like the way it is a bit cropped and fitted through the waist. That structure is super important for those of us who carry our weight in our midsections.

Since the outfit is fairly plain, I wanted to bling it up with a statement piece, and this necklace seemed like the perfect thing. It was a gift from White House Black Market last summer and is no longer available, but again, you probably have something that would work. If not, I’d recommend this Stella & Dot Kimberly Necklace or the Kendra Scott Stone Tassel Necklace that is so popular right now. I still want one of these.

I carried this snakeskin tote because I like how it pulls the mushroom and grey together. Plus it’s just a great bag. Unfortunately it is no longer available, but this one at Kohl’s is quite similar.

  1. Jo-Lynne! How do you stand how cute you look today?!!! The ONLY thing I dislike about this entire outfit is that it’s not on me right now. 🙂

I don’t have white jeans, but I do have white cropped denims, so maybe I’ll try something with them.

  2. Very cute outfit! Love that necklace.

I wore white jeans with my blue plaid long-sleeved shirt (rolled up) this weekend. I think white jeans work in fall when paired with seasonal pieces – jacket, sweater, boots, long sleeved shirt, etc.

  3. Jo-Lynne,

I love your style! I just discovered you recently and can’t wait to see what you’ll style next. Love the white jeans!!! Although it’s still super HOT here in Phoenix, I’ve been using lots of your ideas. Thanks for the great tips.

  4. I love your hair! Just wondering what hair products you use. It looks so smooth and silky. And your haircut is beautiful too.

  5. Living in Phoenix I pretty much wear my white jeans year round, and I really love this look for when the weather finally cools down. 🙂

  6. Thank you for saying wear white jeans all year. I love my white and winter white jeans. Also, I love your outfit and never thought about wearing my booties with them.

  7. Yes, I definitely like this outfit and the versatility with changing the color of the tee. Thank you for the suggestion of the cropped jean jacket for those of us who carry extra baggage in the midsection. I’ve been wanting a jean jacket but didn’t know what style to get!

  8. I love your outfit and have to say your make-up and hair look great too! Are you using different make-up and if so what are you wearing?

    1. Hey Sarah. I am wearing different makeup, actually! I have this nude lip palette I got last month that I used in this picture. 🙂 I love it, but it was a limited edition so I don’t think it is available any longer. 🙁 It was by MAC.

  9. You look darling in this outfit and I’m going out for lunch tomorrow and hope I will look half as good. I am thrilled with your blog and so happy to have stumbled into it. I’m going to try my white jeans with grey ankle boots and a jean jacket, hope it comes off as well as yours did. Thanks JoLynne

  10. You look gorgeous in this, great outfit! And I love the dark manicure, that might have to be me at my nail lady next week 🙂

  11. I love that outfit and the purse is my fave. Don’t love ankle boots on me because I am short but the gray and white and the necklace – love it all on you!

  12. Hi there, I’m thinking about ordering these jeans. The site says to order one size up. Just wondering what size you are wearing here, and if they get loose at all?
    Thanks for your help!

    1. Hey Jennifer. I always wear 29 in DL1961 (and in most denim) and these fit me perfectly. I wouldn’t recommend ordering up – but I don’t want to steer you wrong. They do not get loose with wear. They hold their shape very well. I Hope that helps!

  13. Okay, thanks for your help. I’m looking forward to your styling the ponte knit pants. I just bought some and have never worn them before. Thanks again for all your fashion help!
