If you feel like the holidays have crept up on you this year, you aren’t alone! I’ve been scrambling to come up with festive looks for a few upcoming celebrations, so in case you’re in the same boat, I’ve styled three festive outfits for your last-minute holiday style inspiration!

Conveniently, all of these looks are from Nordstrom, making it a one-stop shop for your holiday wardrobe. With free, fast shipping and options like Buy Online, Pick Up In Store, or Curbside Pickup, you can often get what you need the same day—without even stepping out of your car or dealing with the crowds at the mall!
I swear, I could hear this gorgeous green boiled cashmere cardigan calling my name when I saw it in the store. It’s a major splurge, but I managed to snag it on sale, and it was exactly what I wanted to wear for some of my low-key holiday events and celebrations Plus, I can continue wearing it long after Christmas has come and gone.

It’s classic Vince—luxe and elegant, yet cozy and comfortable. And the v-neck cardigan with its cropped silhouette keeps the look current, but still timeless. I also found a similar style and color for under $50, for anyone wanting a similar option for less.
I wore this sweater with black jeans for an event last weekend, but I can also pair it with coated black denim flares for an edgier vibe that I might wear out to dinner with friends or to a show in Philly later this month. I really like this mix of textures, and coated denim is a great way to update a classic sweater.

These pants are incredibly flattering, but also quite long. I had mine hemmed to wear with these 1 3/4″ heels. They also run big; I was able to size down to a 6. (The alterations department at Nordstrom is excellent, by the way!)
Kitten heel, pointed toe booties are all the rage this fall, and I’m so here for it! They’re dressy, but still walkable, and very flattering on the foot. These Marc Fisher Kolton Kitten Heel Booties in the black suede are the perfect way to extend the line of the leg but also create some contrast in textures to add interest to the look. They just started selling out, but I also like this pair, and this leather pair is another option with a kitten heel.

For accessories, I added metallic thread drop earrings and a crystal frame clutch to add some sparkle and shine—a must for any holiday look. And a simple layer necklace (similar here) helps fill in the v-neckline without competing with the earrings or overwhelming the simple look.

Vince Boiled Cashmere Cardigan (M) (budget options here & here) // KUT from the Kloth Ana Coated Flare Jeans (6) // Marc Fisher Kolton Kitten Heel Bootie (8) // Panacea Metallic Thread Drop Earrings // similar necklace // Nina Crystal Frame Clutch
If you need something with a little more pizzazz for a holiday event or New Year’s Eve party, a sequin t-shirt is a great way to dress up your favorite denim.

Unfortunately, mine is low in stock, but I rounded up some good alternatives for you below, including some long sleeve options for those who prefer more arm coverage.
Sequin Top Recommendations:
While this top works with the coated denim, it’s a lot of shiny fabric together, so I opted for a more dressed-down look with washed black straight leg jeans, and then I added these fun mesh slingbacks with the black on black dots to keep it festive.

I you’re headed out somewhere and need a jacket that isn’t too fancy, I love a vegan leather puffer with jeans in the wintertime, or of course, a faux fur jacket works too.
And if it looks like I’m standing awkwardly, that’s because I re-injured my ankle one day last week, so heels are not my friend right now. I know, you cannot make this up. I am now hobbling around on two injured ankles! But I wanted to at least give you one look at this outfit standing up, so this is the best I could do.

Finally, for a cozy option that isn’t pants, I found this CeCe Fair Isle Funnel Neck Long Sleeve Sweater Dress. Dresses are nice because they’re one-and-done, and this one has a flattering silhouette. Plus, the fair isle print is having a moment this winter, so this dress is right on trend.

You may remember that I tried this dress a few weeks ago in the Light Heather Grey, but I couldn’t figure out how to style it other than with white sneakers, so I exchanged it for this pretty Blue Heather. Since it has some splashes of light brown, it works really well with my light brown suede boots. (Mine are from last season, but so I’m linking this year’s version, and yay! They’re on sale!)

FIT TIP: I sized up to a medium in this sweater, as the small had more of a body-con fit.
To give this look a little touch of glam, I added a pair of crystal earrings similar to this, but the boots are rather casual, so a larger everyday earring would work just as well. I didn’t want to add a necklace since there’s so much going on with the print and the mock neck, so a bold earring is the perfect accessory to complete this simple look.

I just wanted to say I LOVE you in that baby blue color! I’m similarly colored to you and wear the same classic colors out of habit, but that baby blue is so fresh on you, especially with the camel boots. Lovely! Now I need to find a blouse or blazer that color.
Thank you! These are great options and you look awesome in all of them. Thanks for giving us mortals good ideas 😊
The blue dress is a very pretty shade on you. Thank you for enduring some pain just to take a few pictures for us!
Wearing cute footwear is so challenging when you are limited to heels of an inch or lower. Even kitten heels are sometimes a gamble with winter weather. Luckily cute sneakers and low heel boots are fashionable to wear all winter. Thanks for all the great winter outfit ideas.
I love the first outfit on you. I love hunter green. That’s my type of holiday outfit. I don’t have coated denim jeans so mine would be less fancy. The lower option cardigan doesn’t have cotton so no for me. The baby blue color looks good on you and goes great with the boots.
You look wonderful in everything and I hope your injuries heal! What is the ideal length for the coated black jeans? I have them but my legs are very long and they come up much higher, especially with heels. Is there a “rule” for length of flares with heels? Thanks for all the great advice and product suggestions!!
Traditionally, they should be about half inch off the floor with your shoes on, but these days pretty much anything goes.
Thanks! I like that anything goes because I think I made a mistake when I bought them and did not consider how they would look with a heel.
I would just say, pay attention to proportions. If the jeans are shorter, you may want a shorter top, to keep that 1/3 to 2/3 ratio.
You look beautiful in all of these, especially the blue sweater dress. It’s sort of unexpected ♥️
I absolutely love the first outfit, it’s totally up my alley. Although the Vince cardigan isn’t in my budget I’m going to look for a budget version. I have some black leather pants on order that would complete the look. Thanks for the inspiration! For some reason I’m not receiving your daily emails. I’ve tried re-subscribing and two different email addresses but to no avail. Any suggestions?
I checked this one, and it says it’s active since 12/9. Is it going to your spam folder? Or promotions?
Love all the looks, but especially the sweater dress with those boots. Very pretty!
Just wanted to let you know that the pictures aren’t loading and the website keeps closing out on me. Sorry!😞
Weird, I checked on my phone and computer (both on browsers where I’m not logged in, since that was tricking me last time) and could not see any problems. Is anyone else having this issue?
No issues with me (iPhone 12 and a laptop) downloading photos. Everything is loading quick and easy. Thank you for the inspiration of the cropped black puffer jacket. I am going to a Christmas concert tomorrow night and wearing tartan plaid slacks and black velvet top. The weather won’t be bitter cold, so a short black puffer (from Athleta) will work perfectly! I’m wearing black booties, no kitten heals or pumps since I need to walk outside some and need socks! Pray your ankles get better quick. And I also love that baby blue dress with those exact boots!
Jo-Lynne,
You always look great and I’m inspired by you to kick it up a bit around the holidays. Can I ask what lipstick and color you are wearing? A good red lipcolor is hard to find.
Thanks,
Edie
Thank you. I actually mixed a few colors I have.
I need new black booties, but wide width and low or no heel, what would give me an updated look?
Love all these outfits! Glad that sweater dress worked for you, I have been eyeing it too and am glad to see it doesn’t look too snug or short. I know you mentioned the sequin top is sold out, but do you mind telling us where it came from? I feel like I saw it recently but can’t remember where and would like to keep an eye out for restocks. Hope your ankle heals quickly, so sorry you’ve had so much trouble!
Sure, it’s the Sanctuary Sequin Tee—there are actually a couple sizes there right now.
