Best of April: Top Ten Reader Favorites

Good morning on this last day of April! Thanks for sticking with me this month, with so much recycled content and a shortage of fresh photography. I’m excited to be getting back on my feet and into real shoes, which means more try-on hauls and outdoor pictures.

Before we continue on with more spring fashion and beauty content, I’m sharing the Best of April. These were the most popular fashion and beauty products here on the blog and across my social media channels this month.

Your Top Ten Fashion Favorites

First, I’ve got the 10 best-selling fashion items, according to how many orders were placed through these links. These are listed in typical Top Ten order, with the most popular one last.

also wearing: Evereve tank (S) // Dolce Vita slides (7.5)

#10. KUT from the Kloth Jane High Waist Denim Shorts (8) // A great pair of white shorts for summer. I love the utility pockets and clean finished hem, for a modern touch. The fabric has a good amount of stretch, and they’re very comfortable. They run true to size.

also wearing: Dolce Vita slides (7.5)

#9. Caslon V-Neck Knit Midi Dress (S) // An easy, casual midi dress for spring/summer. Perfect for vacation, everyday errands, and casual events. It’s TTS, or size up if in between.

also wearing: KUT from the Kloth shorts (6) // Birks (39)

#8. Madewell Relaxed V-Neck T-Shirt (S) // I love this top for throwing on with white or blue denim. It’s short but not cropped, and it has an easy boxy fit. The flattering v-neck and sleeve detail make it a little nicer than your basic tee. It’s true to size.

also wearing: MOTHER Weekender (29) // Dolce Vita slides (7.5)

#7. LOFT Striped Modern Shirt (S) // A fresh take on the traditional button-up. I love the shorter length and shirttail hem. It runs true to size.

also wearing: Birkenstock Madrid (39)

#6. Caslon Twist Waist Organic Cotton Midi T-Shirt Dress (M) // An easy, casual dress with a fun twist detail at the waist. It also comes in an ivory/black and green/ivory stripe. It’s TTS, or size up if in between.

also wearing: Gap Factory wide leg jeans (29) // Sam Edelman slides

#5. Splendid Faye V-Neck Tee (M) // Just a nice basic tee, very soft and good quality. It’s shorter than your typical tee, which I prefer, and it’s fitted but not clingy. I also love the abbreviated sleeves. Definitely size up in this one. (By the way, those jeans and sandals are also some of my favorites spring purchases!)

also wearing: Frank & Eileen Lauren Polo Dress c/o (M)

#4. Paul Green Hadley Platform Sneaker (8) // Luxe and comfortable right out of box; these sneakers have tons of cushion and good arch support. THey’re the only non-athletic shoe I can wear right now, with my injured ankle, so they’ve been getting a lot of airtime lately.

also wearing: Nordstrom Carolina Slides (8)

#3. Ming Wang Abstract Floral Knit Dress (S) // Such a pretty, easy dress to slide on and go. It skims the body without clinging, and the abstract pattern is fresh and fun.

#2. Wacoal Women’s Body Base Shorty (M) // My go-to under white denim and dresses when I don’t need a lot of compression.

And in first place… Drum Roll Please! 🥁

outfit details

#1. KUT from the Kloth Kara Fray Hem Cotton Blend Trucker Jacket (M) // This jacket is my favorite topper for spring outfits. I love the cropped length and this color is so pretty. Size up, if in between.

Honorable Mention:

Donna Morgan for Maggie Cutout Sheath Midi Dress // I never wore this, but I linked to it, and it sold like hotcakes. I actually just ordered it to try, since I don’t really have a nice light colored sheath in my closet right now.

Your Top Five Beauty Favorites

I don’t do as much beauty content as I do fashion, so I only chose the top five for this category. These are also listed in typical Top Ten order, with the most popular one last.

#5. Replenix Age Restore Nighttime Therapy Face Cream // My ride or die nighttime face cream; so luxe and creamy and it just dissolves into the skin and leaves it feeling soft and hydrated, and it keeps the flakies away.

#4. Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Pro Filt’r Amplifying Eye Primer // I love this eye shadow primer; I keep it on auto-order at Sephora.

#3. KERASTASE Resistance Ciment Thermique Hair Serum and Blow Dry Primer // My favorite heat protectant and hair primer. I use this every time I blow dry and style my hair.

#2. Oligo Pro Calura Moisture Balance Cleanser Shampooing & Conditioner DUO // My go-to shampoo and conditioner combo. These were recommended by my hair stylist because they’re gentle (no parabens) and designed to help extend my hair color.

#1. Dolce Glow Luce Clear Tanning Mist & TanningDrops w/ Glove // My new favorite self-tanning product; I’m also most out of the drops because I was also using them on my body at first. I also love the clear tanning mist that comes with this set. Now that I’m out of The Boot, and I’m able to move around easier, I’ve been using the mist on my body and the drops mostly on my face.

And that’s a wrap! I’d love to know if any of your favorites are in this list!

  1. Good Morning! Just a recommendation for Bonnie and Pop, the candy gift box you mention on your Mother’s Day gift ideas. My daughter sent me one of their chocolate tins and I was impressed! The backstory of their small business is inspiring, and the chocolates were absolutely top notch and delicious!! Ummmm, I wonder if I’ll get another box for Mother’s Day?
It’s great to see you even more on Instagram!

  2. I’m not a big Instagram follower BUT when you do a “video” post it makes you “human”. We see the still pictures with the smile and the perfect pose and the perfect hair and the clothes that are fresh and new. If you do just a quick minute or two video on Instagram it makes you more personable. I watched a couple from Cyndi Spivey and Tania Stephens and it put a different spin on their personality. Even if you showed a video of you sitting with your lovely booted foot propped up, sharing about a book you read or the rain that blew through, it keeps us connected with you as a “far away friend”. Just a thought.

    1. I appreciate that. I do talk on Stories some and share everyday stuff, but I haven’t gotten into the reels with the outfits until now. Honestly, it seemed like so much work, but I got myself set up with a ring light and smartphone holder in my bedroom, right beside my mirror where I take my daily outfit photos. Now it’s super easy to pop the phone in and do a quick twirl, lol! I don’t know why I didn’t think of that before.

  3. Sometimes when I go to your website, using the Chrome browser, your latest posts don’t load. I went to my email and clicked on the post in today’s email and it did come up. I have noticed it more than once since your website redesign.

    1. Yeah, we had a major glitch this afternoon, but it has been fixed for now. The redesign has not gone smoothly. I keep hoping we will iron out the kinks, and it will be smooth sailing again, but things keep happening. We are reassessing things, and trying to figure out next steps.
