Elevated Athleisure with T by Talbots

Comfort might be the name of the game this fall, but there’s a way to keep it polished and put-together. After all, when we look good, we’re so much happier and more productive.

Today I’ve got two classic winter athleisure looks with Talbots featuring their cozy tech fleece leggings and suede turnlock ankle boots.

Also, great news! Talbots is running a 72-hour flash sale with 40% off your entire purchase… that includes everything I’m wearing in this post. The discount is automatically taken at checkout.

You may not know this, but Talbots does athleisure!

That’s right, T by Talbots is a line of tees, jackets, activewear, and yoga pants that are designed for comfort and style. They’re perfect for running errands, working from home, or walking your favorite trail.

This heathered drawstring cowlneck pullover is case in point. I love this elevated take on a sporty top.

It has a nice body-slimming silhouette that isn’t clingy and a flattering overlapping detail at the curved hem. Plus, the longer length makes it perfect for pairing with leggings.

The rayon/poly/spandex blend is thick and warm without the bulk, and the inside has a super soft fleece lining that feels so nice against the skin. It runs true to size; I have the small.

As you know, I’m a denim girl through and through, but when I saw these tech fleece leggings, I had to try them.

Traditional leggings can feel somewhat revealing, especially if your top isn’t long enough to cover all your, ahem, assets…

But these leggings are super thick and fleece lined, and they have a nice matte finish, so they can easily be worn as pants.

There is absolutely no show-through, and they are sooo comfortable — and warm too! There’s even a side zip pocket deep enough to hold your smartphone.

They don’t have as much stretch as traditional leggings, so if you tend to run in between sizes, you may want to size up, but I stuck with my usual size small.

I also styled these leggings with his tweed zip cuff stripe sweater for a look that’s got of that après ski vibe going on.

From the speckled tweed-like ribbed knit to the zip cuffs, this sweater has so many subtle details that make it a little extra special even though it’s comfortable and easy to wear with leggings or jeans.

It’s made of a cotton/nylon blend with just a kiss of wool for warmth, and you can wash it in the machine and lay flat to dry.

Finally, these suede boots with the lug sole and gold turnlock detail are right on trend and yet totally in keeping with Talbots’ modern classic style.

The comfort and quality on these boots is fantastic, but they run big. I recommending sizing down a half size.

I finished the look with a leather crossbody and these classic twist hoop earrings.

When you need to level up your leggings this fall, be sure to take a look at T by Talbots. I love how they’ve taken their classic style into the athleisure category to create a whole line of comfortable, wear-now pieces that are perfect for the casual lives we’re living these days.

  1. Well I really don’t know what to wear anymore.  Our weather has turned back to spring with 60’s- and 70’s🤷‍♀️.! Although it won’t last long I’m enjoying it and the guys are actually golfing today… crazy! Love those boots they look comfortable.

  2. Love the leggings and I have a pair of boots in my closet that will look great with them. Ordering them, not for a Christmas gift for someone, but for myself!

  3. Both outfits are great and you look really nice in both of them.  It’s nice to know that there are some leggings out there that don’t emphasize parts of our anatomy that shouldn’t be brought to the attention of others.  I’ve noticed that my jeggings require a top that is just a little longer.  ETA has decided to impact our weather along with other air flows out there, taking our highs back in the upper 70’s to low 80’s, with a chance of rain every day thru Sunday, and forcing us to turn the AC back on.  I so want to wear my cozy cold weather clothes!  Have a fabulous day!

  4. Loved the striped sweater until I read “kiss of wool for warmth”. Ugh “ kiss of death for comfort” is more like it for me. These are the type of sweaters I put on and then start trying to figure out what’s poking me. Look at label…ugh 2 percent wool! Sigh.

  5. Perfect,,, love Talbots! These are the additions we hv to hv in
    Chicago with snow coming 🙁
Sturdy boots, warm leggings and cute sweaters!

  6. LOVE your style and looks / I never order pants online because I am 5’10” and length is always an issue. Would really like to have a pair of fleece lined leggings this year – have never owned any – for workouts I just go Thru old navy exercise leggings and want to upgrade for athleisure foe this winter  -can you recommend any that come in tall please ?

  7. The first photo has three really nice illusions.  Your leggings and boots blend nicely into a long leg line that goes on almost forever.  The door behind you casts an image that looks at first glance like you are wearing a short black skirt.  That is good because your long and black leg line complements such a short skirt well.  A black skirt with black opaque hosiery does look good in this outfit.  The photo itself makes you look a lot younger.   Again, that complements the whole outfit with its short skirt illusion and your long and black leg line.  Guard that camera.  Many of us would like to borrow it, like forever.
