Instagram Roundup

Good morning, friends! So happy it’s Saturday. How about you??

I’m excited because I’ve got a girls’ day out planned with a friend. I spend most Saturdays doing mundane household and blogging tasks, so I’m looking forward to getting out and doing something fun for a change. We’re going to have lunch and then hit up the mall.

I do most of my shopping online these days, so I always enjoy the opportunity to get to the mall and browse in person. For some reason, I always find different pieces when I’m at the mall than I do online, plus it’s just more fun with a friend!

I can’t believe it’s almost February. In a way, January feels like it’s flown, and in another way, Christmas feels like months ago. Even though it’s still very much winter here in PA, I’m already gearing up for spring fashion; that’s just the way this industry works. I’m not buying much yet because I don’t want things to sell out before I can post them, but Cyndi and I will be doing 27 Days of Spring Fashion in March, so I’m already looking ahead and thinking about the outfits I’m going to want to style.

Every time we do one of these style series, I try to challenge myself to show more variety and try new things. On a daily basis, I wear what I want to wear, and it can be quite repetitive, but I try to step outside of my box a bit for these challenges. I hope that keeps it interesting and relevant for those of you following along. I’m sure not everyone wants to wear skinny jeans with a v-neck pullover and ballet flats every day!

And that’s a great segue to my Instagram Roundup!

This week’s Instagram Roundup is on the shorter side. I haven’t posted as often this week as I sometimes do, and I’m not going to be able to give too much background on each outfit. I need to put this post together quickly because we have an early photo shoot this morning. The weather looks like it’s finally going to cooperate, and I have a post for Lucky Brand that I’m working on. Stay tuned for that early next week!

Anyway, here’s a recap of what I posted to Instagram this week, in case you missed it. If you want to follow me over there, I’m @jolynneshane.

And that’s a wrap! Sorry to keep the descriptions so brief today, but like I said, I’m kind of running late this morning! Usually I work on these posts ahead of time so I’m not scrambling the morning of.

Also, I’ve been getting a lot of questions about my lipstick lately. I always use a lip liner (I line AND fill in my lips; it keeps your lipstick on longer) with a creamy lipstick and a tinted gloss on top. My favorite everyday combo that I wear most often is this Mac lip pencil in Spice with this Nars lipstick in Rosecliff and this MAC Lipglass on top. I think that’s the one most people ask about.

When I want a bolder color that is still somewhat conservative, I use this Bobbi Brown Lip Color in Pink Mauve with the same pencil and gloss. And if I want pink, I add some of this this Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Gin Fizz, but it’s VERY neon so I just need a little bit mixed into the Rosecliff. Finally, when I want red, I wear a red lip pencil with this GrandeLIPS Lip Plumper in Bright Deep Red.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
