May QVC Beauty Finds

Happy Thursday, friends! I’m back again this month with more beauty finds from QVC. I’ve been really impressed with the brand names they carry, and the deals on some of these products are truly outstanding.

I also want to tell you about QVC and HSN’s Beauty with Benefits campaign to support Cancer and Careers, an organization that helps women with cancer in the workplace.

If you purchase one of these items, you receive a complimentary gift bag with beauty products from popular brands such as Josie Maran, Too Faced, bareMinerals, Laura Geller, and more. They sent me one, and I’ve been working my way through the different products, testing them out. There are some really good finds in there!

Also, if it’s your first time shopping at QVC, you can take $15 off your first purchase of $50 or more with code NEW. If it’s your second purchase, you can get $10 off $25 or more with code HELLO10.

tarte Lip Sculptor Lipstick and Lipgloss Duo // I always use a lipstick and a lipgloss together, so I love how this products has  satin matte lipstick and a pigmented lip gloss in one double-ended tool.

The lipstick applies smoothly, and it’s super moisturizing, and then the gloss is the perfect finishing touch of shine. The lighter color is a little too close to my skintone for my personal preference, but the darker color (that I’m wearing here) is a gorgeous shade for everyday wear.

Murad Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum // I’m so excited to see how this works for me. I have some brown spots that just made their appearance on my face, as well as melasma around my jawline that has been plaguing me for a year or two. It really got noticeable last summer. Obviously, I won’t be applying it to my hands, but we took that picture to show you the consistency of the product.

The active ingredients are tranexamic acid and glycolic acid. I already use an all-over glycolic product from my dermatologist, so I’m only applying the Murad to the areas where I have the discolorations. Supposedly it shows results within a few weeks of regular use, so I’ll report back!

Both the tarte Lip Sculptor Lipstick and Lipgloss Duo and the Murad Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum are part of the Beauty with Benefits campaign to support Cancer and Careers. And here are some more of my new beauty finds and old favorites that are available at QVC.

tarte HydroFlex Serum Foundation with Blending Brush // This is my new favorite foundation for summer. The serum formulation is lightweight and hydrating, and it holds up all day. It doesn’t get cakey or settle into fine lines.

This product isn’t included in the Beauty with Benefits event, but it’s a brand new product launch at QVC, and right now, you can get the foundation and the brush for only $39. This is such a good price on a product launch — you’re basically getting the blending brush for free.

There are 32 shades to choose from, so be sure to watch the video on QVC.com for guidance.

tarte Tartelette In Bloom Clay Palette // Another tarte product that I’ve been loving lately is this eyeshadow palette. It has such a pretty assortment of neutral shimmers and mattes, and the palette is arranged in rows for three easy looks to mix and match.

I find them easy to apply and very blendable. It’s hard to overdo it, yet they have a lot of pigment and great staying power. Since using this palette, I’m always amazed by how good my eye shadow looks at the end of the day.

L’Occitane 5.2 oz Shea Butter Hand Cream // I’m already a huge fan of the L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil, which I’ve purchased from QVC in the past. It’s my favorite shower and shaving gel; I’ve been using it for years.

This shea butter hand cream is just as impressive. It’s thick and smooth and soaks in quickly, leaving your skin smooth and hydrated but not greasy. It also smells wonderful. This would make a great teacher gift if you need any ideas here at the end of the school year.

St. Tropez Purity Bronzing Water Face Mist Duo // I really like the St. Tropez Self-Tan Express Bronzing Mousse that I shared last month, so I was excited to try this bronzing water face mist by the same brand.

It has the same great tropical scent, and you just spray it on your face either over or under your makeup. The results aren’t as noticeable as the bronzing mousse, but I definitely see a golden glow develop throughout the day. This is a great price for the pair. Unfortunately, they’re wait-listed at the moment.

philosophy renewed hope in a jar hyaluronic glow water cream // I used this as my day cream last summer and really enjoyed it. It’s lightweight and absorbs quickly, and it leaves your skin perfectly primed for makeup. I also like how it has a bit of a cooling sensation — it feels really nice first thing in the morning.

Joan Rivers Beauty Great Hair Day Fill-In Powder with Brush // And this is an old favorite I’ve been using for years. It’s the best fill-in powder for thin or graying hair that I’ve tried.

It looks very natural, and it’s buildable so you can add more to get the desired effect. Best of all, it doesn’t transfer to your clothes or pillowcase. The color I use is Dark Brunette.

  1. I always learn so much from these post. Thank you! I would love to see a post about hair styles for over 50 in 2021. The ladies that I know and see we have all let our hair grow out due to the pandemic. Now it is time to refresh for Spring. I have searched everywhere for a hair style that compliments my winkles, eyes, and new outfits. Our hair is an accessory too. Could you help us with this please

  2. From the research that you have done over the years, have you learned if lipstick has a life expectancy? Most of mine is 8+ years old, but my thinking is that if it still wears well, then it’s okay. I have never shopped on QVC. I know that you are happy that it is finally warming up so that you can enjoy your pool and outdoor space. Since last Thursday we have had lower humidity and very comfortable highs, so we’ve had some of the windows open. Each day this week the high will go up, so that by the weekend our high will be in the 90’s and the humidity will be up. We dread being stuck inside. Oh, on my iPad I am still not getting email notifications of replies, so I don’t know what’s going on. Have a great day!

  3. So many great products but I’m definitely heading over to QVC for the Joan Rivers fill in powder! I’ve tried a few different gray hair cover ups but they were all messy or ineffective. Can’t wait to try this!

  4. Mascara that stays put! I used Lancôme for years and it always transferred to my under eye area and drove me nuts. Then for a few years I used Tarte – the one in the funny purple faux snake skin tube. It stayed on a little bit better. Last year you reviewed They’re Real and I love love love it. For other natural pale blondes with albino-esque lashes I can’t recommend it more strongly. I think having see-through lower lashes looks stupid with upper lashes coated with mascara. I tried eyelash dying and it was very irritating. Thanks for these great (as usual) tips. And you look great! Whatever you’re doing skincare or cosmetically is awesome.

Speaking of cosmetic enhancements. My dermatologist has had five patients hospitalized in the last two weeks after an allergic reaction to the COVID shots — apparently if you have any fillers like juvederm or restslyne this can happen – the treated areas can swell painfully! She sent them to the hospital as a cautionary measure with no idea if it would get worse. This apparently is not asked of you when you are getting jabbed. No questions of severe allergic reaction in past such as to penicillin or bee stings (I’ve had both, once a a young child and the second when I stepped on a bee) and I carry an epi pen now.

So if any of my fellow readers here have had fillers for lip or under eye issues be careful. This reaction does not seem to affect Botox users, just fillers with PEG.

  5. I have wanted to try the Joan Rivers fill in powder for awhile now. Just need to do it. I guess I’d be the Blonde or Ash Blonde…..not sure. I just need it for grey fill in, hoping to get more time in-between hair colors. Thanks for sharing this. Its so funny…..when you say you are having grey, rainy days, we have sunshine and when you say you are having sunshine, we are grey and cloudy.(NW Oregon) Soooo, we are grey and cloudy today. LOL We’ve had really beautiful weather in the high 70’s for sometime, before today. Guess I don’t have to water my flowers today.

  6. I have that same eyeshadow palette. Do you have a post that shows the different combinations you’ve used? I’ve tried a few, but quite a few of the shades are out of my comfort zone, and I’m not quite sure how to use them. I’m afraid I’ll look like a hot mess lol. Great post, thank you!
