Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Best of What’s Left

Well, friends! It’s August, and another Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is winding down. Inventory is starting to get depleted but there are still some good deals to be had, so I’ve rounded up the best of what’s left for those who are still shopping!

I know, it’s hard to think about fall fashion in August, but your October self will thank you if you pick up a few goodies at a discount to enjoy once the weather turns chilly. Speaking of the weather turning chilly, there’s lots of good activewear still in stock.

#NSale Activewear Still In Stock

The Zella Liana recycled blend performance tee is the perfect base layer for cold weather running, and it’s also a nice stand-alone piece on milder days. The recycled polyester/spandex fabric is super soft, lightweight, and breathable. It runs true to size and comes in several colors and neutrals.

And the Zella Restore pocket joggers are also made of a recycled polyester/spandex blend, for ultimate softness. They come in two shades of black, and both are highly versatile and pair well with any color or neutral. These joggers are also true to size.

In the picture above, I’m also wearing this Zella reversible puffer, which is 40% off and fully stocked in the silver/blue combo. I’m wearing the small, but you may want to size up if you plan to wear it over bulky sweaters. And my On Cloud trainers are still in stock, but not part of the sale. Still, highly recommend!

The Zella Live-In joggers are still well-stocked in all colors. These are similar to the Restore joggers (above) but a little longer, and the material isn’t quite as soft and stretchy — but it’s still plenty soft. I wear these a lot, usually with a t-shirt and denim jacket for a cute athleisure look, but also occasionally for working out.

#NSale Sweaters Still In Stock

I love a cozy sweater in the fall and winter, and I try to keep a good collection of neutral colors and classic styles to mix and match with all of my jeans and jackets.

This popular Caslon cardigan has been restocked in the green! (It’s available in other colors too.) This was my top seller across my blog and social media channels last month. It’s TTS, or you could size down for a closer fit.

also wearing: Caslon tee // Mother Insiders // Tory Burch stripe crossbody

For a pullover, this Vince crewneck in a wool/cashmere blend is always a favorite, and I love the color selection this year. I’m currently debating between the pink and taupe, and just this morning I was wishing I had the ivory to wear with a moto jacket I was styling… so I might have to snag one of those as well before the sale is over!

also wearing: Paige Cindy exposed button fly jeans // Paige Lia bootie

Also, don’t miss this luxe cashmere hoodie. It is probably the softest, plushest cashmere I’ve ever put on my person.

also wearing: AG Farrah skinnies // P448 John sneakers

The boot selection this year is quite extensive, and I’m pleased to see a lot of favorites still in stock! The Vince Camuto Welland booties top my list because they’re comfortable and flattering, with a hint of a Western-inspired styling. I recommend sizing up half in these boots.

And these Marc Fisher Gadri booties also have that subtle Western flare that is so on trend right now, and they come in a bunch of great neutral tones. These run true to size.

I reviewed a bunch of the Chelsea boot and lug sole styles in Saturday’s Try-On Haul. The Vince Cabria zip front boots are gorgeous, and they come in both black and brown.

And the Blondo Drew is also waterproof and under $100. I actually like the styling on these a little better than the Vince — the slight wedge heel makes them more flattering on the foot.

Plus the Paige Lia is a classic pointy toe bootie with an edgy diagonal zipper and a low block heel. It comes in white and black, and I’m currently debating between the two. Decisions are hard!

#NSale Handbags Still In Stock

If your handbag collection needs a refresh after a year of quarantines and working from home, there are some really good ones in this year’s #NSale. I’ve been saying all along, the handbags are my favorite part of the sale this year.

The AllSaints Edbury shoulder bag is gorgeous. The pebbled leather is buttery soft, and it has the perfect slouch factor. This Caramel color is super versatile (also trending for fall) and the Cherry is a rich, reddish-brown that’s also perfect for fall.

I’m also loving the Clare V. tote in the mini cat print. It’s such a chic statement bag, but it also plays as a neutral and goes with virtually everything.

also wearing: AllSaints sweater // AG Mari jeans // Louise Et Cie Chelsea boots

And the Tory Burch Carson hobo is classic and elegant. It’s the perfect everyday size, but it’s elevated enough for work or dinner out. This one seems to be going in and out of stock periodically, so if you like it, keep an eye on it.

also wearing: Halogen raw edge tank // Wit & Wisdom raw hem crop jeans (not part of #NSale)

#NSale Home Still In Stock

And don’t forget the Home section. This Bliss Throw is a perennial favorite. They make great gifts for kids or college students, and we have one thrown on the back of a couch or chair in just about every room in the house. Everyone loves to snuggle up with one of these to watch TV in the evenings.

also wearing: BP. pajamas (last year’s style)

But if you really want to splurge or spoil someone, there is nothing like the UnHide Marshmallow 2.0 faux fur throw blanket. I felt it in the store when I was shopping for a new Bliss Throw, and exclaimed out loud that it was the softest thing I’ve ever put my hands on in my life. I still bought the Bliss Throw (the cost difference is significant) but I’m telling you, if you want a special blanket, the UnHide faux fur throw is the bomb.com.

The Ui Mug & Warmer Set makes a nice gift for an avid coffee or tea drinker, and I’m always a fan of these Nest diffusers for gift giving. The candle sets are nice too.

#NSale Men’s Styles Still In Stock

Paul is wearing older styles from #NSale 2019

The Men’s selection has been really good this year. I picked up a few of these Robert Barakett t-shirts for Paul because he wears them all the time, and he also needed a couple new pairs of jeans. They also have some good jeans and a few good jackets that I rounded up for you below.

  1. Since we are talking about Nordstrom, I have tailoring credits there. Can I take a pair of jeans I didn’t buy there to be hemmed? Just asking b/c I hate to pay to hem….if they won’t take it I’ll have to do it myself, someone save me!

  2. Trying to decide on the Live In or the Restore for Christmas gifts for my girls. I have the Live In and I’m 5’3″ and bought the XS, but wondering if my girls I’m buying for 34 yrs. 30 yrs. and 27 yrs. would like looser fit???? Two are close to my height and one is 5’5″. Which Zella jogger do you like best and recommend for this age? You said the Restore was a little shorter? It also is a little wider at cuff I think the measurements said. The rise is the same but I think the Live In looks higher and it feels high on me. Do you think one is higher wasted than the other. Oh to decide. Sorry for all the questions. Just would love to get one Christmas gift for them all out of the way. 🙂 Do you know the return policy length for Nordstrom now? Use to be a year. If I bought both XS and SM for all 3 girls and they decide on size, would it be too late to return extra’s after Christmas? I was thinking I’d order the Men’s Zella jogger for the guys. I know their sizes for sure. I’d love to use your link to order all these, but hate to have wrong sizes at Christmas. 🙂 Thanks.

    1. I feel like the Live-In joggers are more versatile. A little more like the Vuori, which are so popular. Not sure the return policy, but usually very generous, especially with an item like these that they keep in stock ongoing. I’d go with XS, probably, based on that sizing info.

      1. I had decided to make the jogger order before you had answered back. I went with the restore, as I was thinking they looked younger and more like the Vuori. Sounds like you are saying the opposite. I bought the XS and SM for the girls to have choice. Nordstrom said NO problem on returns after Christmas. I’ll have receipts and they said the barcode on the tag works too. 🙂 Thanks for your reply. I’ll figure out if I like them when they come. They are on their way already.

  3. I love open toe booties but I did a quick search on the Nordstrom site and didn’t see anything. Are those not trending anymore? I have two pairs I bought in January on 2020 that I’ll still wear, but looking for another pair in black.

    1. Yeah, not really trending. I know, I loved that style. I wish I had saved that pair of Vince Camuto Kimora cutout sandals I loved so much. I must have passed them on, but I loved those for this time of year.

  4. Really liked this post!I do love my ankle boots, but this year I’ve bought a pair of light brown double strap suede flat shoes. They seem to be a trend again,at least here in Europe…Well, they’re a classic, but they are overpresent again in webs , fashion magazines and shoe shops. My first pair of monkstraps were gifted to me when I was like sixteen???oh,my,sooo long time ago! And they have always been my favourite shoes ever!so glad they’re back again!

  5. I’m hoping that the Zella joggers get restocked in my size! I’ve checked on them throughout today because I love that brand and would really like having more of them in my closet. I hope that all of your appointments went well today!

  6. On a whim, I called my local store to check to see if they had a pair of sale rain boots I ordered in the next size up that are now sold out in all sizes. They had these particular boots, but the clerk checked the inventory in other stores across the US and found the boots. I’m so excited. She said that while items online might say they are sold out, that doesn’t necessarily mean the item isn’t in a store somewhere. If there’s an item you really want, it might be worth the phone call!

  7. It’s hard to decide what to keep in my wardrobe when things are “on trend” one year, not trending the next, and then pop up “on trend” again couple of years later (e.g. boot styles and sweater vests come to mind). I don’t live in a particularly high fashion area, so I still see plenty of skinny jeans and low shaft/low heel bootie styles being worn and cardigan sweaters of every length from cropped to duster. And I have oodles of scarves that I’ve rarely worn lately, but I’m sure as soon as I get rid of them, they’ll be back on trend again!!

    1. I hear ya. I definitely think you have to take into account where you live, and what you truly love (as opposed to what you might have bought b/c it was trending.) And remember that trends ebb and flow on a spectrum. It’s not really here today, gone tomorrow. So maybe don’t invest in more of something that is on its way out, but still wear what you have if you enjoy them.

  8. I think I’m going to pull the trigger on the VC Wellands in black because the tall Franco Sartos have not been restocked. You suggested to size up 1/2 in the Wellands… is that from your normal size 8 or a boot size? Sometimes my boot size is an 8 but normally I’m a 7.5. Your feedback would be appreciated, thanks!
