This holiday season I’m laid up with a foot injury and trying to take it easy. While I love cooking from scratch, sometimes a baking mix is just what the doctor ordered. Thanks to my partnership with Krusteaz, I’ve discovered a wonderful gluten-free brownie mix that is so good, there is no need to try to make my own.
I decided to doctor them up to make them festive for the holidays so I came up with the idea for these Peppermint Brownies.
You can, of course, use any brownie mix (or recipe) you desire, but if you are gluten-free, I highly recommend giving Krusteaz a try. Besides that, all you need is a container of chocolate frosting, a box of candy canes and powdered sugar.
That’s right, you only need four “ingredients” to make these tasty and festive brownie treats! These are perfect for bringing to classroom holiday parties or holiday cookie swaps, gifting to teachers or care givers, or making for your own consumption!
Here’s a printable recipe for your convenience.
- 1 package Krusteaz Gluten Free Double Chocolate Brownie Mix
- Chocolate frosting (store bought or favorite homemade)
- Candy canes, crushed
- Powdered sugar
- Make the brownies according to package directions; cool. Slice into squares.
- Spread a thin layer of frosting on top and then sprinkle with crushed candy canes and powdered sugar.
I created this post in partnership with Krusteaz. All opinions are my own.
These look sooooo YUM. Thanks for the idea!
Thanks, Carrie. They are! 🙂
