Spring Dresses: Fresh Picks for the Season

I’ve been getting requests for spring dresses for weddings, vacations, Easter, and other special events, so I put together a big roundup for you today! First, I’m sharing the key dress trends you’ll see this season—many of which tie into the broader Spring 2025 Fashion Trends I’ve been covering—then I’ve got a shopping widget packed with stylish finds.

2025 Spring Dress Trends to Watch

As styles shift, we’re seeing a move away from the ultra-boho and romantic details that have been popular the past few seasons. Dresses are becoming a little more tailored and polished, though flowy silhouettes still have a presence. Here’s what to expect in spring dress trends this year:

  • Modern Femininity – This shift toward refined details mirrors what we’re seeing across the board in Spring 2025 Fashion Trends—sleek, polished styles are making a comeback in everything from dresses to everyday outfits.
  • Midi & Mini Lengths Dominate – Knee-length styles aren’t as prominent right now; instead, midi dresses with flowy skirts and playful mini dresses are taking center stage.
  • Shirt Dresses & Waist-Tie Styles – Crisp, polished, and easy to wear, shirt dresses are everywhere this season, often featuring belted or tie-waist details for a flattering shape.
  • Column & Straight-Cut Silhouettes – Instead of voluminous tiers, we’re seeing more column shapes and straight-cut designs that feel modern and versatile.

  1. Ah, spring 🌸 longer days, and warmer weather sound nice. I purchased the Nordstrom Pleated Midi dress ($99.50) late last fall when it was on sale. The fit is nice, and the cut is very flattering. I am excited to wear it.

  2. Happy to see ruffles and tiers go out. You have certainly done a lot of work on this post. I notice however most dresses with a sleeve seem to be too short, while the sleeveless, halter ones are long. Hmmm need something with a little sleeve but not down to my ankles. The navy polka dot looked promising but it didn’t look that good on the model so does a normal person have a chance? haha

My son lives in Sarasota and even when it’s cold the humidity makes it warm. Enjoy – this is one of most gorgeous parts of the beautiful state of Florida.

  3. What about t-shirt dresses? I used to have a few from Caslon that I loved but have donated in the last year due to wear and tear. I’m a dress person in the hot summer months and love to have a bunch of casual dresses to throw on with flip flops.

  4. My favorite is the Loft denim one. Those big prints on some of the dresses are a big no for me. It’s so hard for me to find dresses I like even though most of my life I loved dresses.

  5. I just arrived in Sarasota this
Morning for a girls weekend on Holmes Beach!
It’s chilly for sure but way better than my weather in the Lehigh Valley! 😎
    Mid 60s breezy partly sunny!
Cardigans, hoodies white jeans, long sleeves, the locals are bundled up!

  6. You gave us the names of books by Kristin Hannah besides the “Women” and I lost my screen shot. Could you please tell me what they were . It was about 3-4 suggestions. Thank you,
    Gwen
