What I Wore Lately: Three Weeks of Everyday Winter Outfits

Hi, friends! It’s time for another edition of What I Wore Lately! This is a peek into my everyday style—what I wore, where I wore it, and how each outfit came together. Whether you’re looking for styling ideas or just love a little outfit inspiration, I hope this gives you some fresh ways to mix and match pieces in your own wardrobe.

I actually have three weeks’ worth of outfits this time, rather than my usual two, so I’ll try to keep the commentary brief. (I skipped last week so I wouldn’t interrupt Spring Trends Week.) Let’s get into it!

But first, the usual disclaimer: These are my real-life outfits, so you’ll see some repeats, and a few older items may no longer be available. I’ll link similar-for-less styles and other options where I can, but that gets more challenging this late in the season. Hopefully, you can shop your closet and get some late-winter outfit inspo!

Three Weeks of Everyday Outfits

This was just a typical day working from home, and I had to take Savannah to the groomer. My coat is very old, and I love this taupe cable knit pullover, but it sold out a while back. The jeans and sneakers are favorites—definitely a bit of a splurge, but considering how often I wear them, they’ve been well worth it.

I threw on my biggest, baddest winter coat to head to a workout the next day.

Aritzia Super Puff Long (M) // Athleta tank (M) // Vuori Elevation Leggings (M) // Brooks Ghost Weatherized (9)

When I got back home, I changed into this cozy outfit for a hair appointment. It was a very cold day, and I didn’t want to stay in those thin leggings. The turtleneck probably wasn’t the most practical choice, but we just folded it down and made it work.

Caslon Ribbed Turtleneck (S) // Mother Weekender in Layover (29) (option) // UGG Ultra Mini Boot (8) // Gap Factory Sherpa Coat (S) // similar bag

That night, I swapped outfits again to meet a friend for drinks. I guess the other look felt a little too casual, although I probably could have just switched out my boots.

I threw on this outfit the next day for a nail appointment. This sweater is a few years old and one I reach for on repeat during the cold winter months. It was messy out, so I went with my Sorel duck boots in the Taupe/Black combo—I like how they tie in with the coat.

The next day was Saturday, and Paul and I went to the mall to run some errands. I kept it casual with this new striped cardigan and my trusty MOTHER Dazzlers. I wore silver sneakers and added silver jewelry to keep it fresh.

That night, we had reservations at a wine bar we like. I pulled out my favorite grey jeans and paired them with this black v-neck sweater from White House Black Market for a simple monochromatic look. The sweater has a pretty variegated rib texture and a flattering drape. I tried it both front-tucked and untucked—while I liked the effortless feel of the untucked look, I opted for the front tuck since the belt added a little extra interest.

It was another cold night, but I didn’t want to deal with a long coat at the bar, so I just wore this faux leather puffer and added a scarf. Paul was sweet enough to drop me off at the door, so I didn’t have to freeze.

I wore another monochrome look to church the next day. My sweater is 30% off, and these Vince boots are 50% off! They’re gorgeous. The only reason I didn’t keep them is I have this very similar pair from last year.

Andrew Marc coat (S) // Burberry scarf (option) // Vince Donegal Cardigan (S) – 30% off // AG Mari – 25% off (more sizes here) (29) // old Vince boots (8) (similar)

This is a casual look I wore to my weekly women’s Bible study. I’ve been trying to lighten things up, even though it’s still cold and wintry here. I love the stripe detail on this half-zip and how it ties in with the sneakers—even the taupe coat helps keep the look fresh. I’m so glad I grabbed this on sale after Christmas!

I don’t remember where I went this day, but it must have been cold because I pulled out the big guns—a.k.a. my Aritzia Super Puff Long. I love how easily it fits over the quilted vest.

After a long day working from home, Paul offered to take me out for a weeknight dinner, so I threw on this comfy look—it was just a casual spot nearby.

One Friday, I played hooky and met a friend for lunch and shopping. It was cold, but I hate dealing with a big coat in the mall, so I opted for a cozy turtleneck and topped it off with this wool jacket. It’s from Nordstrom last year, but I found it still available on the Rails website!

I came home and changed into my new Aritzia sweats for a quiet evening at home.

The next day, we went to visit Paul’s mom and run a few other errands.

Aritzia Super Puff Long (M) // Caslon cardigan (S) // MOTHER Dazzler (29) (option) // VEJA Esplar (39) // similar earrings // Anna Beck necklace (similar)

And then I wore this to church on Super Bowl Sunday—my green sweater was a nod to our Eagles, of course!

Vince Boiled Cashmere Cardigan in Heather Jade – 30% off! (M) // MOTHER Weekend in Wanted! (29) (option) // PAIGE Annika (8) // Yurman earrings (similar) // Anna Beck necklace (similar)

That afternoon, I changed into more appropriate football-watching attire…

old Eagles tee & hat // MOTHER Weekender Fray (29) (option) // UGG Ultra Mini Boot (8) // similar earrings // Anna Beck necklace (similar)

And I re-wore this casual outfit the following Monday.

Chelsea Half Zip (S) // MOTHER Dazzler (29) (option) // adidas Handball Spezial in Cream White/Coral/Coral (8)

This is what I wore to Bible study last week—still trying to keep things light even though it’s cold outside, and I’m so ready to be done with winter.

J.Crew Daphne (6) // similar sweater // MOTHER Roller Skimp (option / budget option) // similar belt // Vince Hillside Booties (8) (option) // Freya New York Caroline Bag // Jenny Bird earrings // Anna Beck Station necklace

I came home for a bit before heading back out for a quick appointment. I changed into more comfortable shoes and jeans for that.

The next two days, I didn’t go anywhere—or do much with myself, for that matter. I’m not even sure why I took these pictures… just keeping it real!

old Vince sweater (option / budget option) // old Athleta fleece flares (S) // Ugg Dakota slippers (8) // MOTHER Dazzler (29) (budget option) // UGG Ultra Mini Boot (8)

I pulled myself together to go out to dinner with Paul last Friday night. It was Valentine’s Day, but we didn’t go anywhere super fancy. Still, I wanted to look cute. I love this striped hoodie, and I and paired it with a darker wash jean for a polished but laid-back look.

Isabel Hoodie (M) // MOTHER Weekend Flares in Teaming Up (30) // Veronica Beard Lada Boots in Espresso (8.5) // Jenny Bird earrings

Last Saturday, we visited Paul’s mom again, then headed to a friend’s house for dinner that night. I just pulled on some old favorites, but I lightened it up with these cream/coral sneakers.

Jenni Kayne Flynn in Shadow (S) // MOTHER Weekender Fray (29) (option) // (29) (option) // adidas Handball Spezial in Cream White/Coral/Coral (8) // Marlyn Schiff coin charm necklace // Jenny Bird earrings

I went monochrome again for church on Sunday.

Aritzia Super Puff Mid in Modern Taupe (S) // old Vince turtleneck (M) (option) // MOTHER Weekend in Wanted! (29) (option) // rag & bone Walker Chelsea Boots (39) // similar bag

And then I pulled on sweatpants and UGGs for the afternoon and evening at home.

And that’s a wrap! I’ll include the pictures from this week in my next What I Wore Lately post. As always, I hope this gives you a little style inspiration for the season. Let me know which look was your favorite!

  1. brrrrr, it’s cold! Loved all of your sweater and jeans and ankle boots outfits. I visited the Aritzia store at the KoP Mall last week. It was bigger and had more variety than I expected. I thought it was just a coat/sweat clothes store! Maybe the only thing I would add to your outfits is SOCKS! HAHA I I can’t wait to see your outfits from Florida (no socks needed)!

    1. I was actually wearing those J.Crew cashmere crew socks with my sneakers in quite a few of these looks! 🤗 I forgot to add the links. Sometimes I just wear the Sheec no show ones. I cannot wait for Florida! Crossing my fingers I stay well. I’m so afraid I’m going to catch this flu that’s going around.

      1. Jolynne. Wear a mask on the plane and wipe down anything you may touch I know it’s uncomfortable but I have patients tell me everyday oh I was sick at Disney (or wherever) and just flew home etc etc. people don’t care if they’re sick they travel so we have to protect ourselves as best we can. On a lighter note I must order those coral sneakers to brighten this dreary week in PA.

  2. I love your hair long and straight and the color is so pretty. I used to have pretty hair like that and now it’s grey or silver or white? Not sure.
I love the green, jade sweater on you – the color is beautiful, the black sweaters also. And the long flare jeans – you look tall and thin in them.
    Have a blessed day!
You definitely look better going to Bible study than I do. I will have to up my game!

  3. Hi JoLynne, I love your “What I Wore” posts. I can really relate to “real life” posts. i noticed that you wore your Ugg boots several times. I just ordered the Ugg ultra mini new heights boots. I had been on the fence about them for at least a month and finally ordered them a couple of days ago. I am eagerly awaiting their arrival. I wonder if you have tried them. Or, have you seen them? I am wondering what your opinion is of the platform, heeled soles and if you think they will pass the test of time.

  4. I think you look great even just running errands. It’s been so cold and dreary in VA that I just don’t feel very inspired to dress as well as I usually do. I just want to wear fleece lined stretch flare pants, lol. I also sometimes don’t even take off my coat when I take my son to the doctor or run errands, so it doesn’t matter what I’m wearing on top! I do want to wear wool coats more, I usually just reach for a puffer. Seeing you wear long wool coats is inspiring me. I would love to get the Daphne coat but they’re out of my size, and plus it’s final sale. It’s a big risk for an item that’s not inexpensive.

    1. It’s a great looking coat but it’s not super warm. If you decide to risk it and order, I’d recommend sizing down. I can’t believe the 6 fits me even over sweaters.

  5. Biggest, baddest winter coat LOL! I haver 2 from LL Bean. Is the half front tuck still in style? I like it but some say it is out.

  6. These are some great outfits. I am also over winter. I like that you are adding lighter colors to jean outfits. maybe that will perk me up a bit. Maybe after the snow tomorrow. I am glad i am not the only one who turns to swearpants when its cold.

  7. I liked seeing how you styled the Gap Sherpa coat for a relaxed casual look. I got that coat after you featured it, and your look will be one I’ll want to replicate. Also, it just dawned on me when I was clicking on some of your Post items —not only does your blog give an entry for browsing your shopping sites, it’s an entry that doesn’t result in my inbox being filled with ads. What a nice win-win.

  8. Gosh, I really like those silver sneakers. I’m not really in need of new sneakers right now, but will keep metallic ones in mind for when I do. Of course, by then, there probably will be a new trend in footwear. 🙂 LOL!!!

  9. I always love your what I wore posts! I noticed you bought two different sizes in the Aritzia puffer does one fit better done up then the other?
I’m excited to start bringing some color into my wardrobe for the spring . I feel like everything is beige, gray, or black or white in my wardrobe right now and I’m so over it with the cold wintery days.. we have had so much ice this year. It’s definitely the time of year that I grow tired of my winter wardrobe!

  10. Jo-Lynne I wore my Andrew Marc coat today. I just love it and so happy you showed it when it was on sale. It was 17 degrees this morning and high of 25 so far. I was all dressed for the winter when I went to my volunteer job this morning. I didn’t even realize there were tiny snow flurries when I was driving. Its been years since I saw any while driving. I’m going to wear the coat again tomorrow when I go to Bible study. The weather man was warning us about frostbite if outside for too long. I didn’t have to worry because every part was covered except my face. Lol. I could never live in a cold climate. I feel for y’all.

  11. Once again, you have given me so much inspiration. Fortunately, I have quite a bit of color in my closet for the cold months, which definitely brighten my days.

  12. My favourite outfit is the mother roller skimp outfit you wore to bible study. Classy and fashion forward. What other tops do you find work with these jeans ? Can you wear them more often? I have them but find them hard to style but you got them looking awesome

  13. These posts are great. My go to winter outfit is fleece lined leggings, Uggs and a turtleneck! I love that you change your purse a lot too.
