Two Classic Holiday Outfits with Talbots

** This post is sponsored by Talbots.

The holidays are fast approaching, and the requests are already rolling in for holiday outfit inspiration. Today I’m partnering with Talbots to share two classic festive looks for the upcoming holiday party season.

Woven Sleeve V-Neck Pullover (S) // Sparkle Knit Wide Leg Pants (6) // Sylvie Bow Kitten Heel Pumps (8) // Snowflake Stud Earrings // not pictured: embellished velvet clutch

The first outfit features this gorgeous Woven Sleeve V-Neck Pullover. Mixed media styles are having a moment right now, and I love how this top combines the comfort of a sweater with the elegance of a blouse. It almost looks like a layered look.

This festive top pairs perfectly with their Sparkle Knit Wide Leg Pants, which are right on trend, and I tucked the blouse in an attempt to highlight my waist and keep the proportions of the outfit in check.

Because they’re a knit fabric, these pants are very comfortable, and I love the sleek hidden side-zip closure. Both the top and pants run true to size, or size down if in between. I’m wearing the small and the size 6, respectively.

These satin kitten heel pumps with the subtle bow detail also play into the current trends, and I love the low heel for comfort and walkability. They have a memory foam footbed, and they run true to size.

I accessorized this modern classic holiday look with sterling silver snowflake studs for some sparkle and shine near my face, and I carried a black leather clutch, although I wish I’d thought to grab this festive rhinestone embellished velvet clutch. It would be the perfect final touch.

I love how this outfit is both comfortable and chic, and it leans into the current trends in a sophisticated way.

This lace dress is another nice option for the holidays and beyond. It’s definitely something you could wear year ’round, for a variety of events.

It’s the perfect just-above-the-knee length, and the back has a really pretty cut-out detail. It’s fully lined with a scalloped hemline, and I feel like it runs a bit big. I’m in the size 6, and it’s still a little roomy.

This time, I wore a pair of suede slingback kitten heels with a sparkly embellished bow on the toe.

I really like this slingback style; I feel like they’re a little more interesting than the plainer satin pumps, and the sparkly bow adds some bling to the otherwise black outfit.

I always get asked about what to wear over a sleeveless dress for a winter event, and this velvet trim shrug is the perfect solution.

I’m so glad to see shrugs and short cardigans coming back into vogue, and this actually offers a good bit of warmth, as I discovered when I removed it to take pictures of the dress on its own. Brrr….

The velvet trim keeps it looking holiday-appropriate, and the 3/4-length sleeves allow you to showcase any arm candy, perhaps this crystal stretch bracelet.

I meant to wear the snowflake earrings with this outfit, as well, and I also think that velvet clutch would make the perfect finishing touch to this classic holiday look.

  1. I love the top in the first outfit, so feminine. I probably have at least 3 “going out” tops in this general genre (black with cute details) which is definitely enough to meet my needs, but that looks like a good one.

  2. I love mixed-media tops! I have the shrug from Talbots and can’t wait to wear it. I bought it in June off the sale rack. I don’t usually buy off-season items anymore because I find myself, 6 months later, wondering why on earth I bought them. LOL. But this item looks great with all sorts of outfits. I’d love to see some more holiday outfits, Jo-Lynne. I attend lots of events in December that need something a little less dressy than the outfits here. It’s the only time I wear sparkly tops. I lost some weight over the last year (thank you IF) and need to replace mine so I ordered several from Nordy’s.

  3. Hi! Fantastic post! I love Talbots Holiday 2023 offerings! They’ve come out swinging for the fences, to use a World Series metaphor. Everyone is wanting to celebrate with festive party wear.

  4. I Love both outfits. But I prefer the pants and top for comfort. The dress is very pretty. The shrug you put with it is perfect. I also love the kitten heels. Can’t believe they’re back. Nothing like comfort and a whole lot better to dance in. Ha! Pretty chilly here in NC. Hope too many kids aren’t out tonight. I’m not doing treats tonight either. Hope you have a good night. Get you some rest!!🎃

  5. I rarely comment but I went to Talbots and those sparkle pants fit like a glove so I came home and ordered them to get the 31% off.

    Thanks
