What I Wore Lately Vol. 107

Good Monday morning! I hope you have the day off and are enjoying a long weekend. In case you missed it, I’m at the beach this week with Paul’s family. Many moons ago, we got engaged here in Ocean City, NJ on one of their family vacations, so it’s always been a special place to me.

I normally do What I Wore Lately on Wednesdays, but I have a sponsored post commitment this Wednesday, and it’s been a few weeks since I’ve done one of these, so I thought I’d go ahead and post today.

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and I usually wear a small in tops and dresses, a 29 in jeans, and a size 8 shoe. Gifted items are indicated by c/o; everything else I purchased myself.

What I Wore Lately: Everyday Outfit Inspiration

I’ve been traveling quite a bit over the past few weeks, and here are a couple of outfits I wore while I was away. This is a dress I picked up along the way. It will be great for my summer travels!

Lulu B dress // Tory Burch Millers // Lagos earrings // Lagos bracelets one & two // similar pendant

I like this elevated sweater tee for pairing with white jeans and shorts.

LOFT sweater tee (S) // MOTHER Insiders (29) // Tory Burch Millers (8) // Lagos earrings // Lagos bracelets one & two // similar pendant

I wore this basic outfit to travel home on the plane (with my green denim jacket on top) and then to host a family party later that day.

Simple outfits like this are my favorites. Coordinating the belt and the sandals pulls it together and makes it look intentional.

Frame tee (XS) // Frame denim (29) // Vince Camuto slides (8) // similar belt // Lagos earrings // Lagos bracelets one & two// similar pendant

The next day, I had a nail appointment. These Spanx pants are so comfy, and easy to pull up in the pedicure chair. I also had these with me while I was away.

KUT from the Kloth denim jacket (S) // ATM tee (M) // Spanx crop wide leg pants (M) // Tory Burch Millers (8) // Lagos earrings

I threw on this basic outfit to go to the mall with my daughter. I love a linen tee for summer; unfortunately LOFT didn’t bring this one back this year.

And then this was just a casual day at home. This tank is from last year, so once again, I don’t have a link. And I linked the same shorts in a different wash… which I actually like a lot. I’m thinking they might be nice to have!

Here’s that LOFT sweater tank again! This time I wore it with a slightly dressier pair of white jeans, and I love these heels.

I was going to wear this to church, but then I ended up staying home to help my son pack for the overnight camp where he works in the summers. He threw is back out right before he was supposed to leave, poor kid! (He’s doing better now.)

LOFT sweater tee // Paige Nellie // Dolce Vita wedges // Elleme bag // Lagos earrings // Lagos bracelets one & two

I went shopping that afternoon, so I changed into flat sandals.

This was the day I thought I was going to the beach to shoot some outfits (including this one!) and then we canceled our plans at the last minute. I stayed home and got a lot of work done, instead.

Marine Layer striped tank c/o (M) // 7FAM shorts c/o (29) // Vince Camuto slides (8) // pearl earrings (similar for less) // similar pendant

I’m still seeing my chiropractor for this bad shoulder… and I also jacked up my neck when I was traveling and he’s been working on that too. I often wear this outfit combo or one like it.

Vuori jacket c/o (S) // Zella tee (S) // Vuori joggers (S) // pearl earrings (similar for less) // On Cloud sneakers (8.5)

I wore this to go running, and I went ahead and grabbed a picture because it’s one of my favorite outdoor running/walking outfits.

Vuori Energy Top c/o (M) // Vuori Cardiff Shorts c/o (M) // Brooks sneakers (9)

This is one of the dresses I bought with Italy in mind. I want to start wearing those and make sure I like them before I pack them.

Columbia Chill River Dress (M) // P448 sneakers (39) // Lagos earrings

And then I wore this to go to see a live band last Friday night. Black and denim is my go-to for events like that.

WHBM sleeveless notch neck sweater (S) // MOTHER Weekender (29) // Dolce Vita wedge sandals (8) // Kendra Scott earrings & necklace // VE bracelet c/o

This is what I wore to drive down to the beach on Saturday.

And this was what I put on yesterday for dinner after an afternoon on the beach. I wanted to get a picture of my swimsuit and coverup, but it was so hectic trying to get on and off the beach with all of our stuff, I didn’t want to bother anyone to stop and take pictures. Oh, well, we have a whole week here!

  1. Love all the outfits! Do you like the Frame white t-shirt? How does it compare to the ATM or even Caslon or Madewell? Thanks!

    1. I love it, the cut is so flattering. It’s very thin and lightweight and doesn’t lose its shape. I sized down to XS, which is very unusual for me, it runs big. The ATM is a slub fabric, and this is smoother, so it has a slightly dressier vibe. It’s much nicer than Caslon or Madewell.

  2. I love that black dress with the cutouts, so sharp looking; also like the Columbia dress, doesn’t have the athletic vibe. Enjoy your vacation!

  3. Would you share the details of the very first dress, pretty please? Built in bra? Built in shorts?
    Thank you😊

  4. I like the Lulu and Columbia black dress on you. I looked at (curious for myself) what the Columbia dress fabric is made of (has some polyester)….will you give some feedback on if you feel cool/comfortable in the dress on a hot day. Thank you.

  5. I’m interested in ordering the spanx pants in petite since I’m 5’3” and they recommend petite for 5’4” and under. But wondering if size small. I see you took medium. Do they run true to size? I wear size 4 or 27 Jean/pant

    1. If you look at their size chart, the M= 6-8 and I am almost always one of those 2 sizes, so they are true to size for their size chart. BUT most other brands are S = 4-6 and M = 8-10. So in those, I can often wear a S.

  6. The black dress with the cutouts looks great on you and definitely is a step up from the simple LBD most of us have. I love the special meaning that Ocean City NJ has for you, and hopefully Paul, since most men are not as sentimental as we are. I’m glad that David’s back is better. Good luck with your shoulder and neck. I am so impressed with the little things you know to do to make an outfit look intentional and put together. I need to start making more effort with my everyday outfits, even when I’m doing chores. Have a fabulous week!

  7. Happy belated birthday! My birthday is Friday. July is a birth month for several in my family circle. I like the black wide leg crops and white jeans. Love the striped tanks. I read wearing black in the sun can make you hotter. The black dress is sleeveless and short so you’ll probably be okay in Italy. Also it looks like you lost weight. (You never really looked like you gained weight to me.)

  8. Is there a link for the Lulu b dress? There wasn’t one in the description under the photo– at least on my screen. So many great outfits. I hate the idea of spending so much on a white T but I think I’ll order the Frame one. I don’t wear white often because I’m messy and have a herd of grandchildren, but in hot weather white always looks cool. You look great, Jo-Lynne!

  9. Since you are working with Banana Republic perhaps you can encourage them to work on “simplify” their website.I would like to shop more with BR but in my opinion their website is awful. Too many pop ups and difficult to navigate. Maybe I’m the only one that feels like this ??

    1. I don’t have that kind of relationship with the brands I work with, unfortunately. 🙂 I don’t have the ear of anyone at Banana. I use an affiliate network that enables me to use tracking links, so I earn commission when people buy through those links. I get annoyed by pop-ups too, but they do work well as a CTA (call to action) so that’s why website developers like to use them.

  10. Happy 4th Jo-Lynne! Do you have a link for the black cut out dress? It’s so cute. We are the same size so I’m wondering what size you have it in.

    thanks!

  11. Did you find the frame tshirt to be too sheer? It looks fine in your pics but many reviews complained about the sheerness. Does a skin-toned neutral bra suffice or does it need a tank top underneath? (It’s too hot for that in Mississippi! If I can’t wear it with just a bra it’s a no-go for me!)
