Best of May 2023

Well, I blinked, and suddenly it’s June! Before we dive full-on into summer content, I’m sharing the most popular products and posts here on the blog and across my social media channels last month.

Top 10 Products in May 2023

First, the 10 best selling products! I’d love to know if you snagged any of these and how they worked out for you. These are listed in typical Top Ten order, with the most popular one last.

And I’m going to throw one extra in here as an “honorable mention” because several pieces in the Top Ten are almost sold out. These Naot Pixie wedge sandals were in the top 20, and I plan to do a more thorough review on them soon. I have a sneaking suspicion they will make Best of June!

Naot Pixie in Black Luster Leather/Black Raven Leather/Black Madras Leather (size 8)

Okay, moving on to the Top Ten! Links and descriptions are under each picture. I also linked up the other items I’m wearing in these photos, in case you’re interested.

also wearing: Talbots Straight Leg Crop Jeans c/o (6) // Talbots Gina Ring Vachetta Leather Sandals c/o (8) // Lagos earrings & crossover ring

#10. Talbots Cinched Shoulder Bateau Neck Tee c/o (S) // This linen blend top is a little more elevated than your basic tee. I love the cinched details at the shoulder and the pretty ties at the sleeve cuffs. It has an easy fit and a straight hemline that’s perfect for front-tucking.

also wearing: Gap Factory Relaxed Print Splitneck Top (S) // Dolce Vita Lukas Platform Sandal (7.5)

#9. Gap Factory High Rise ’70s Flare Jeans with Washwell (28) // These are such good jeans for the price. They remind me of the PAIGE Leenah that I like so much, right down to the front patch pockets. If I hadn’t already worn those, I would have kept these instead. I squeezed into the size 28, but I probably would be more comfortable in the 29, so I’d say they run true to size. They come in regular, short, and long lengths, and they’re also 40% off + extra 15% off at checkout!

also wearing: Gap Factory 4″ Mid Rise Destructed Stride Shorts (29) // Victoria Emerson bracelet c/o // similar DIFF sunnies // Kendra Scott earrings

#8. Gap Factory Relaxed Print Splitneck Top (S) // Another cute Gap Factory fashion find, this pretty top comes in several colors, and you can dress it up or down. It’s also 30% off + extra 15% off at checkout.

also wearing: KUT from the Kloth Jane Porkchop Short (6) // Talbots Gina Ring Vachetta Leather Sandals c/o (8) // Madewell necklace // Lagos earrings & crossover ring

#7. LOFT Striped Sweater (S) // I love a sweater with shorts in the spring/summer, and this one has 3/4-length sleeves and the perfect relaxed, almost slouchy fit. It’s also 40% off right now with code SUNNY.

PAIGE Anessa Wide-Leg Cropped Jeans (more sizes) (29) // Dolce Vita Iman Slides 40% off (8) // similar bracelet // similar DIFF sunnies // Kendra Scott earrings

#6. Sanctuary Twisted Tank (S) // I love the colors and the shorter length of this cute little twist front top. Definitely size up, if ordering; it runs small.

also wearing: MOTHER The Insider Crop Step Fray (29)

#5. P448 John Sneaker (39) // These sneakers need no introduction! They are simply my favorites.

also wearing: Dolce Vita sandals (8) // Yurman earrings

#4. Gap Factory Sleeveless Splitneck Mini Dress (S) // Wow, Gap Factory is representing this month! I actually have this dress in both solid black and this blue floral print, and I plan to bring both with me to Italy. It also comes in tall and petite sizes; I’m wearing the regular size small.

#3.  Halogen Raw Edge Tank (S) //I’ve had this top in several colors and prints over the years, and this Black-Ivory Fast Leopard is one of the few that has made it through my many closet purges. It’s such a nice stand-alone top with white or black pants, but it also makes a great layering piece. Oh, and it’s under $20 right now!

also wearing: MOTHER Hustler (29) // Vince Camuto Molisana Wedge Sandals (8) // Victoria Emerson bracelet c/o // Lagos earrings // straw clutch

#2. LOFT Muscle Sweater Tee (S) // I love a sweater tee in the spring and summer, I usually pair them with white denim for church or dinners out. This navy one has a nice texture to it, with an easy fit. Plus, it’s 40% off today. It also comes in white.

And in 1st place… Drumroll please! 🥁 🥁🥁

also wearing: Halogen Raw Edge Tank (S) // YSL belt & sunnies

#1. Tommy Bahama Linen Raw Edge Jacket (S) // This linen jacket is the perfect summer weight in a classic black. I love the raw edge details and the denim trucker jacket design. It also comes in white and a really pretty Tart Apple green, and it runs true to size.

  1. It is interesting to see what resonated with us the most. I bet Paul is ready to be back home. You’ve got a busy and fun weekend coming up. Congratulations to David!

  2. Jo-Lynne,

What great outfits! I missed the Talbots outfit somehow. I have a couple questions for you. Do you think fine jewelry necklaces can elevate an outfit when you add it to a boatneck or crew neck style tee or top? Is that too minimal to really matter? Is that something that is dated? I dress casual, yet conservative. I have several necklaces, diamond stud and gold earrings that I like to wear.

    1. I don’t know, I’d need to see it I guess. It depends on how open the neckline is. I don’t think it’s dated, more of a classic look. You can always add a bolder earring to up the style factor.

  3. Congrats to David. Sounds like a busy Summer household to come. Iceland??? Wow!!! What a trip. I’ve heard it’s beautiful. My daughter and her husband went a few years back before they had a child. They loved hiking there. She did however have trouble eating there with her allergies. Love seeing what people liked best. Gap factory sure was represented.

  4. I bought the Gap Factory white flare jeans and I love them! They’re the perfect length and fit really well.

  5. I have & love the gap factory high rise white jeans.
I get so many compliments every time I wear them. Even my husband comments each time!

  6. Hi sorry I forgot in Iceland just need idea what to wear to go sightseeing in the cities…thanks

    1. Most people are saying it’s like dressing for the Northwest United States in the spring – lots of layers and definitely a waterproof jacket b/c it does rain a lot.

  7. Well, I have the Gap Factory high rise flares, and I love them! My husband is even a fan! I also have the split neck top and dress that are the same print, and I really like them, too. I have the black dress in my cart currently. If I order it today, it will probably beat me home. I ordered that black and ivory leopard top. It was delivered today, but I won’t be home until next Friday. I plan to wear it for my middle child’s band camp performance Saturday. Congratulations to your son!!
