Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a good weekend. Even though I’m a morning person and I enjoy getting a head start on my day, I like to do it in my own way. Like most people, I have a bit of a routine.
Yes, my morning routine most certainly does involve coffee. It also involves staying in my pajamas or pulling on some comfy loungewear while I take my time waking up and getting going.
I’m a sucker for a stylish and comfortable sleep set, and I just found some really cute options at Athleta. That’s right, they’re not just a place to buy activewear… although they’re great for that too, so stay tuned for my second look!
Both of these pieces are made of a buttery soft modal/spandex jersey knit. They feel amazing against the skin and have such a nice drape.
I went ahead and made it a 3-piece set and added the matching Nighttime Bliss Sleep Joggers in the same deep burgundy. I love how they skim over the body, without being tight like leggings. And the elastic waistband is soft and not at all constricting, with no drawstring to add bulk.
I usually spend a few minutes reading or doing my devotions while I enjoy my first cup of coffee in the mornings. After that, I get right to work finalizing the day’s blog post and getting my email newsletter out.
At some point in the morning, depending on the weather, I like to take Savannah out for a brisk walk. That’s when I change into activewear.
It’s a little over a mile to do the full loop around my neighborhood, so even though it’s not a full blown exercise sesh, I usually work up a bit of a sweat.
This Athleta Uptempo Hoodie Sweatshirt is moisture-wicking and quick drying, and it’s made of the softest, stretchiest fabric. It comes in a lot of great colors, and all of them have this marled print.
I like how it’s cut lower in the back for complete bum coverage, but it’s slightly fitted through the waist and has a curved hemline, so it’s a lot more flattering than a typical tunic. I sized up in this hoodie, to give me a little more room through the chest area. Otherwise, I would say it’s pretty true to size.
And these are the Salutation Stash Pocket II 7/8 Tights. They’re made with Athleta’s Powervita™ fabric that is super soft with some lightweight support. They’re not at all see-through, at least not in the black — they’re available in a bunch of other colors too.
These leggings come in regular, petite, and tall sizes, and I would say they’re true to size or size up if in between. I am a small or medium in working leggings, depending on the brand, and I have the medium in these.
After our walk, I may go back out to walk or run at a more challenging pace, or I might go back inside and do more work. If I don’t have anywhere to go right away, I usually stay in my activewear until it’s time to get ready for the day.
With stylish pieces like these, I still feel pulled together enough to answer the door for the mailman or run to the grocery store for dinner fixin’s, but I’m also comfortable and cozy for a day of working at home.
