Eyelet Off-The-Shoulder Top Redux

I'm styling a navy eyelet off-the-shoulder top with white jeans and chestnut espadrille wedges. The leopard clutch and chandelier earrings make it perfect for date night!

I took a few of my new tops from my 27 Days of Spring Fashion series to Savannah, and I decided to style them differently and shoot a few new looks with some familiar pieces. One of my favorites was this eyelet off-the-shoulder top from my partnership with Lucky Brand.

For that post, I styled this top with light blue jeans and taupe lace-up block heel sandals for a casual look. I wanted to dress it up a bit for our dinner date at The Olde Pink House in downtown Savannah, so I paired it with my favorite white skinnies and these chestnut espadrille wedges, and I carried a leopard clutch.

This top also comes in black and white, but I think this shade of navy is so pretty. It’s currently on sale for $79.99 PLUS 40% off that. The discount is taken at checkout, and it comes down to $47.99.

Also, first time Lucky Brand customers can get $20 off your order of $50 or more if you shop through my referral link. You will get an email with a code to use for the $20 off, but this only works for first time customers. I apologize for any confusion earlier!

I opted for big chandelier earrings instead of a necklace, although I think a simple choker or short pendant might have been a nice addition to the outfit.

I also wore this pretty Kendra Scott cuff bracelet that has been discontinued. I also managed to break it while I was taking it off later that night. Boohoo!!! I was stretching it to get it over my wrist, and one of the little bands snapped right off. All that to say, if you have one of these, be careful taking it on and off!

I wanted to wear a dressier shoe — I had in mind a nude strappy sandal with a stiletto heel — but I knew I needed to be able to do some walking, so I decided on these trendy Marc Fisher espadrilles in the chestnut color. I like how the color works with the leopard clutch, so at least there’s that!

These shoes keep selling out, but right now there are some in stock at Nordstrom (on sale for $119), Bloomingdale’s and Zappo’s. Also, Steve Madden has a similar style for less at DSW.

Also, I’m super excited to tell you that I found a strapless bra that I love. I know, “I found a strapless bra that I love” said no one ever. But I just said it.

The one I had was okay, but it didn’t stay up very well, and I’ve lost some weight since I bought it so it was getting big on me. I decided I needed to find something better because I really like the off-the-shoulder and one-shoulder styles that are out right now, and I’m tired of bypassing the trend because I don’t have the right bra.

This red carpet convertible bra by Wacoal is gives a nice shape, and it stays put without digging into my ribs. I wore it all over Savannah the night I wore this outfit, and it didn’t budge, and it wasn’t uncomfortable in the least. I almost forgot I was wearing a strapless bra. If you’re in the market for a strapless bra, I highly recommend this one. It runs fairly true to size, but if you’re in between two sizes, you probably want to go with the larger cup size.

Okay, that was slightly awkward, but I do get asked a lot for a strapless bra recommendation, and I’m glad I finally have one I can wholeheartedly endorse.

This was the perfect date night outfit for our first evening in Savannah. It’s comfortable and easy to wear, but it’s fun and on trend and a little bit sassy.

  1. I love seeing an item styled more than one way, so thanks Jo-Lynne. Of course I’m biased since I do this tons on my blog too….but I’m always pairing up with a brain coach and she says that restyling our clothes like that is good for our brain!! We’re going to do a blog series on brain biology and fashion!! It’s good proof that it’s more than just fluff!!!

ps…my strapless bra is from Spanx. Spanx??? I had no idea they had bras at first—and I love mine!!

  2. I love this top but I don’t love the off the shoulder look on me. Since it appears to have elastic around the top do you think it would stay “up” off the shoulders if I wore it that way?

  3. Once again–So cute!! Not sure I will go the off the shoulder route.. like it but it’s not me! Thanks for strapless bra recommendation. Have a black tie event coming up and need a bra I don’t have to fight with!! Julie

  4. What size top did you order? I am buying one through your link and not sure how their sizes run. Thanks!

  5. Wacoal bras are awesome, a bit pricey, but great fitting bra. Highly recommend the bra fitting then try the various styles. I’ve been wearing Wacoal for about two years now and by far worth the money; I’ll have to try the strapless. Love the blue off-the-shoulder top while it’s not work appropriate, it’d be a cute for other occasions. This top appears versatile in that it can be worn with jeans, white denim, and bet it’d be cute with chinos or skinny slacks. JoLynne I enjoy your blog and wonderful fashion sense. Thanks for all the effort you instill in your pages – it’s lovely and exudes your passions.

  6. Jo-Lynne: Thanks for the referral link and this cute top! I used the referral link to try to purchase the top; I get the 40% discount, but not the $20 referral discount. Do you know if that $20 discount actually requires a $50 min. purchase or something? I don’t want to click the final button before I’m getting the referral discount….

  7. Hey Jo-Lynne! Just love this top but wasn’t willing to pay full price or even the sale price. I’m considering purchasing with the extra 40% off. I’ve tried to get your $20 referral code a couple of times. Each time it says the coupon is expired. Any ideas? Thanks!

  8. This is such a cute outfit! I’m so glad off the shoulder is in style this season! I love how flattering they are. I’ll also be in Savannah soon! It looks gorgeous!!

  9. Beautiful Shirt!!! question would you mind talking about what bra you found works best for you and these shirt? I have trouble b/c i don’t want to look to big in a strapless.
    thanks

  10. FYI, for those of you trying to use the $20 off referral code, I just found out this only applies to first time customers. After signing up for their mailing list, you will get an email with a code to use for your $20 off on a purchase of $50 or more. Sorry for any confusion earlier!
