July Favorites

Jo-Lynne's July Favorites

Hello and happy hump day from Pennsylvania!!! Yes, I’m writing from the comfort of home, and it feels wonderful. We got in around dinnertime last night after a remarkably uneventful drive down the East Coast (praise the Lord!) and I’m all unpacked and put away and ready to hit the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I’m headed to the mall this morning to get a sneak peek, and I’ll be posting my Guide to the #NSale first thing tomorrow morning.

You can follow along on Instagram (I’ll be posting to my Insta Story while I’m at the mall today) but I don’t think I’ll be able to link to anything until Early Access begins tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, I’m sharing my July Favorites today — this is a collection of new finds and old favorites that I’m particularly loving right now.

July Favorites

#1. Tie Front Tank // I know you’ve seen this a gazillion times but I’ve been wearing it a lot lately. I featured it in Friday’s post and we discussed that you could see skin/shapewear (lol) through the hole where it ties because I shrunk it in the dryer. Well, after wearing it all day, it stretched out, and now there is no skin showing, so I will probably throw it in the dryer again because air drying clothing is a pain and it clearly grows as you wear it anyway.

I like how cool and comfortable this top is, and the color is nice because it’s different for summer. (It comes in several other color options as well if rust isn’t for you.) For size reference, I have the medium and it fits perfectly (and also allows me to dry it, lol.)

#2. Mossimo Mid Rise Midi Shorts // I’ve worn these a few times on the blog and Instagram. They fit well and are flattering, and for $19.99 you can’t beat ’em. They also come in pink. This olive color pairs well with black, navy, white, grey, pink, and any shade of rust/coral/orange. In fact, I like to wear them with the rust tie front top in this post.

#3. Olay Daily Facials // I’ve been using these off and on since I partnered with Olay to try them out, and they’re the only face wash/cleanser I took on vacation with me to Maine.  I love how well they remove makeup, how they make my skin feel, and the ease of use. They’re dry till you wet them to wash your face so you can just throw a stack in your bag and not worry about leakage or anything. Plus they’re lightweight and hardly take up any space.

#4. Zoya Natty // Usually I like bright or light neutral nail colors in the summertime, but I was getting tired of those options so last time I got this gorgeous steel blue for my pedicure and I’ve been loving it! It’s neutral enough to go with everything, but it’s a little bit edgy and unexpected.

#5. Frye Small Harness Calfskin Leather Saddle Bag // I don’t own this bag, but I love my TB Serif T saddle bag in ivory (discontinued) and carry it a lot during the summertime. Frye makes beautiful leather shoes and bags, and this saddle bag is on sale so I wanted to mention it. It comes in several color options, but the off-white with the brown trim and brushed gold hardware is so pretty. It’s rather small, so keep that in mind, but if you want a quality leather crossbody, this one is gorgeous.

#6. Lucky Brand Adinis Sandals // Less than $30 for comfortable leather sandals? Yes, please!!!I love my TB Miller sandals and wear them pretty much non-stop, but when I give them a break, I wear these strappy Adinis sandals (or my gold Sam Edelman Gigi sandals.) I like the gold when I want something a little bit dressier, and I like these Adinis sandals when I want something ultra casual.

These have padding in the footbed, and the straps are all super soft leather. They required no breaking in at all. They run TTS. I have the 8, which is what I typically wear in sandals. I like this Natural color because it goes with everything, but they also come in white, red, black, and a black & white feather print. Best of all, they’re currently on sale for $59.99 and then 50% off that.

#7. Tory Burch Minnie Travel Flats // I’m already a huge fan of the Minnie travel flats, as I have them in the French grey. I recently received a pair in the leopard patent leather for my birthday, and I’ve already worn them several times. They’re such a pretty way to spice up a simple outfit. Yes, these are spendy, but the cost per wear averages out if you wear ballet flats a lot. Also, mine were a little tight in the toe box at first, but they do loosen up. I wear my regular 8.5 in these.

HINT: Last year there were several Tory Burch flats included in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale — not the Minnie travel flats, but still, if you’ve been wanting a pair of TB flats, the #NSale is a great time to snag a pair.

  1. I’m loving the olive shorts too (especially since I got them for $12!)! I’ve had them less than a week and have already worn them 2x. They are exactly what I was looking for, thanks for the recommendation!

Those sandals are tempting too…such a great price. I have a similar pair so I’m holding off for now, but if they go any lower, I may not be able to! 😉

  2. Welcome home! Great items that you shared today. Have fun at Nordstrom! Can’t wait to get a glimpse of what will be “in” for Fall, even if I can’t make any purchases. It’s always good to be in the know!

  3. Love the nail polish color and looking at the flats too, but I wear Tieks and wonder how they compare as I LOVE my Tieks!

  4. i absolutely love that rust top but no way can I justify paying $52.00 for it. I just keep hoping it will go on sale!!! I love those shorts as well!!

  5. I love the blue nail polish. I’m so excited about the Nordstrom sale to see what is on trend for the fall and to see the items you buy. Have fun shopping!

  6. Glad you featured Zoya nail polish. I’ve recently discovered toxin-free nail polish. I got addicted to gel and my natural nails were turning yellow & disgusting, so I switched to completely formaldehyde-free & Big 10 free polishes. Zoya is one of the more affordable brands. After 3 months with brands like Cote, Butter, Julep, & Zoya, my nails are much stronger and look healthy. No yellowing. It’s amazing how quickly they changed back! My toe nails as well. If I wanted to *gasp* actually have unpolished toes…I actually could. I come to the nail salon w/ the base coat, color, and top coat. But if your nail salon carries Zoya–that makes it much easier!
