June Amazon Beauty Finds

Happy Monday friends! Today I’m doing another roundup of Amazon Beauty Finds. I’ve shared before that I don’t tend to try a lot of beauty products, and once I find something I like, I tend to stick with it for a long time.

But I also realize it’s easy to get stuck in a rut, and there’s nothing more aging than wearing the same hair or makeup for too long, so I’ve been trying to be a little more adventurous in this arena.

My 19-year-old daughter just so happens to love experimenting with beauty products, and she’s been pushing me to try some new things, so I told her she could pick out a few things she’s been wanting to try as well, and she can join me in these reviews.

I order a lot of my beauty products from Amazon because they carry a wide selection of name brands, and most ship free with Prime. I use Subscribe & Save on my favorites, so I save 5% and never forget to re-order and find myself without one of my holy grail products.

June Amazon Beauty Finds

#1. Anastasia Beverly Hills – Brow Freeze // I’ve been looking for a good brow gel for years. I’ve tried tinted and clear versions, but I really wanted a clear because I have microblading, and I don’t really need more color. The ones I’ve tried don’t do much, but this Brow Freeze actually does what it says it does!

When we were shooting this picture, Alison wanted to try it, and she liked it as much as I do. Just be aware, a little goes a looooong way. You don’t need much.

#2. St. Tropez Self Tan Purity Bronzing Water Face Mist (or save on a 2-pack at QVC) // I actually discovered this bronzing water face mist at QVC last spring, and I just ordered some more from Amazon. I tan my body in the sun, but not my face, so I like this for a little extra glow.

It has a pleasant tropical scent, and you just spray it on your face either over or under your makeup. The results aren’t as noticeable as a full-on self tanner, but I definitely see a golden glow develop throughout the day.

P.S. I also really like the St. Tropez Self-Tan Express Bronzing Mousse. I’m already tan from the sun, so I gave mine to my younger daughter, and she’s been using it a lot lately. It looks really natural on her very pale skin.

#3. Supergoop! Glow Screen // I included this product in my Best Sunscreens for Summer, but since I ordered it from Amazon, I thought I’d mention it again here. I like this sunscreen because it’s lightweight and moisturizing, and it has a pearlescent effect. When I apply my favorite mineral foundation on top, it gives my skin the appearance of a healthy glow. (I haven’t tried it on my body, only my face.)

I feel like it’s a little too much “glow” when worn alone, so I’ve started only wearing it when I plan to put makeup over it. I usually put it on before going outside to walk the dog, and then I come back and do my makeup before I go anywhere.

#4. Perricone MD No Makeup Eyeshadow // Both Caroline and I have tried this one, and she’s wearing it in the picture below. I really love this for days when I want a more natural look.

I used to brush my mineral foundation over my eyelids and call it done, but this product looks a lot more youthful and natural. It has light-reflecting pigments that create a soft, satin finish with a subtle pearlized effect. It’s definitely worth the extra step. (I just apply it with a fingertip.)

#5. Perricone MD No Makeup Bronzer Broad Spectrum SPF 15 // This was another one of Caroline’s picks, and here’s what she said: “I tried the Perricone MD Bronzer, and I love it. I’ve been looking for a liquid bronzer for a while, and I love how natural it looked, and I didn’t feel like I looked like I just put dirt on my face.”

I have not tried this one, as I’ve been using this tarte Shape Tape Glow Bronzer, but I can attest to how natural the Perricone MD No Makeup Bronzer looks on Caroline’s pale skin.

#6. Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Blush – Saucy Mauve // From Caroline: “I tried the blush and thought it was really pretty and nicely pigmented. I’ve used Physicians Formula before, and I love their products; they’re a little more expensive for drugstore products, but they work really well for me.”

#7. Olivia Garden Hairbrush Cleaner // Okay, this is kind of random, but Caroline also asked to try this, and it is amazing! I can’t believe I never had one. Now we all use it, and it has definitely extended the life of our hairbrushes.

#8. BIO IONIC Graphene MX Styling Brush // Since I’m recommending the brush cleaner, I thought I’d also talk about my favorite hairbrush. According to my Amazon account, I purchased this BIO IONIC Silver Classic Nanoionic Conditioning Brush back in August of 2017. I use it several times a week, and it’s still going strong!

This hairbrush was recommended to me by my former hairdresser, and it’s infused with NanoIonic mineral to add condition and shine. Not only that, I just like how it holds onto my hair. (I always clip my hair up in sections and blow it out with this big, round brush.)

Unfortunately, the exact brush I have has been discontinued, but they’ve replaced it with the Graphene version I’m linking here. I have to assume it is as good or better than mine.

#9. RevitaLash Cosmetics, RevitaLash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner // I’ve recommended this before, but since I just ordered a new one, I thought I’d throw it in here. I swear by this eyelash conditioner. It makes my lashes so long and thick and full. I only need to use it a few times a week, now that I’ve been using it for so long, but I used it daily at first.

#10. Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Skin Protectant Face Cream // This is another Caroline recommendation. She’s been using this for a while, and she wanted me to recommend it for anyone with severely dry skin. She says it’s more of an ointment than a cream, but it has ingredients in it like lanolin that are great for trapping in moisture and helping really dry, chapped skin.

#11. COOLA Organic Liplux Lip Balm and Sunscreen with SPF 30 // Sometimes you need a little extra lip protection, so I recently ordered this Liplux lip balm from my favorite sunscreen brand. It’s made with natural fruit butters that moisturize and condition dry, chapped lips; and it feels moisturizing but not sticky. It also has a nice, subtle beachy scent (but no flavor).

#12. Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub // And this last one is actually the recommendation of my younger daughter. She’s all about the bath bombs and sugar scrubs, and she picked this one out because she’s been wanting a new sugar scrub. I got her one for Christmas, and I guess she didn’t like the texture or something, but she says this one is fantastic.

I believe I mentioned it before, when I first ordered it, and one of you messaged me to say you’ve been using it for years. So it comes recommended by older and younger women alike!

  1. How do you apply the brow gel?
Thanks for these ideas. I will be ordering a few, I am sure. I have to be very careful about what I put on my face. I have found that many moisturizers and cleansers, etc. make me break-out (at my age!) I never knew my skin was so sensitive. Maybe it changed as I have matured (sounds better than aged haha!)

  2. I’m sure this is a dumb question, but I’ve never understood what bronzer is for. Does it take the place of foundation, or blush, or do you use all three together? Does it provide a “tan” glow so you’d use it only in summer? Thank you.

    1. And here’s my follow up dumb question… how do you apply liquid bronzer?? I’ve only ever used powder bronzer so I kinda don’t get how to apply it, but I’d be curious to try it! thanks for your help.

      1. Usually you use bronzer in addition to foundation; it is for contouring and to add the look of a sun-kissed glow. I don’t use it often, but now that my skin is getting tan, I feel like my foundation is too light, so I’ve been testing out the tarte one I mentioned.

        1. I guess I’m like the other ladies. I don’t understand how to use bronzer, liquid or powder. Not sure where to apply it. I’d like to try the liquid one, as I too have pale skin and I always thought the powder ones back in the day looked so orange and fake. Do you do cheeks, forehead and chin?

          1. You basically want to apply it where the sun typically hits your face – temples, cheeks, nose and chin. But if you want it more for contouring, you can put it where you want to create shadows – under the cheekbones, sides of the nose, under the jaw. I use it more for a sun-kissed glow, I haven’t mastered the contouring.

  3. This post came at such a good time—I need a lip balm with sunscreen so I’ve ordered the Coola. Thank you! And, I had no idea about the hairbrush cleaner but it’s on its way to me too. By the way, was there No Coffee Talk yesterday? You are certainly entitled to take a break from posting; just asking because I wanted to make sure I’m not having email issues again.

  4. What an awesome post! I took pictures of several items that I want to look into. Because I have rosacea on one of my cheeks, I need to find products that will not aggravate it while covering it up. I can highly recommend the Tree Hut body scrub in all of the fragrances. For many years I have been using it on my feet while in the shower. Then after drying off, I put Aquaphor on my feet, focusing on my heels and toes, then I wear soft socks for several hours, allowing the Aquaphor to absorb I to my skin. That process really helps my feet to be smoother year round. The Tree Hut body scrub is definitely worth every penny. Our heat indexes every day this week will be in the triple digits, so we definitely won’t be spending any time outside. And the humidity is stifling. Have a great day!

    1. Yes, you are the one I was remembering who mentioned loving that tree hut body scrub. So sorry about your humidity. I just got back from a walk, and it is nasty humid here too, I can only imagine high temps on top of that.

  5. Oh, yes! The scrub is the best one out there. Even with “luxury lines” this one works better. I agree with you about the glow of the Supergoop, I don’t like it on my face because I have oily skin in the summer and it looks like a sweat face…
I’m curious about the Perricone products!!!

    1. So I just borrowed my daughter’s and tried it. I don’t have a lot to compare to, but I really like it! The scent is lovely, and my skin was feeling rough, and it feels a lot smoother now.

  6. Not a beauty product question but… I have a sweater comb which works ok but am wondering about the Amazon product one of your daughters wanted to try instead of a traditional comb. You mentioned it quite a while back… What was it and how does she like it? Thx!

  7. lol. I had to laugh at the end of your post. The other day I heard someone use the term mature skin vs older skin. I kind of liked that term. As you probably guessed, I am definitely one of your older followers and I love your posts. I have several items in todays post in my cart. Keep bringing us the good stuff, we all need your help!

  8. I highly recommend the coola self tanning anti-aging serum. I am the same and keep my face as shaded as possible in the sun. I just started using this and love that it does double duty…

  9. I want your daughter Caroline’s hair!!!! I’m sure it’s naturally curly and if she’s like a lot of gals she may wish for straight hair. Ha ha.
I like the hair brush cleaning tool. 🙂

  10. I’ve been using the Perricone MD liquid blush for years and love it. I didn’t know about the other products so I’m going to try the no makeup eyeshadow and the bronzer. I have a Bio Ionic hairbrush that I’ve been using for 15 years and it’s still in perfect condition. I bought it from my salon so it’s good to know if I need a replacement I can find it on Amazon
