Monochromatic Transition Look

Hey there, I hope you had a nice long Labor Day Weekend! I have another new transitional fall outfit for you today. This time I’m styling a monochromatic look with shades of grey.

sweater // jeans // mules (more sizes) // tote // earrings // bracelet // sunnies

Yes, grey jeans again. I think I have more grey and black jeans in my closet right now than blue jeans, so expect to see a lot of them this season. These jeans are the Good American Good Legs Cig in a faded grey wash. They fit snug through the hips and thighs but are cut straighter from calf to ankle for an updated silhouette.

Good American jeans are created with a gap-proof contoured waistband, so they’re great for ladies who tend to have issues with jeans being too big in the waist. That is not my issue, but I love how they shape the bootie and hold everything in through the middle. They have great stretch and recovery and never bag out.

They may seem tight when you put them on, but give them a half-hour of wear, and they soften up and fit great. They’re also not as pricey as some of the other popular designer brands, such as Paige, Mother, and AG.

This sweater is what I would call an oatmeal color. Oatmeal is a shade of beige with cool undertones, which works really well for my coloring. I’m always drawn to this color in the fall and winter, and I love how it pairs with grey for an effortlessly chic neutral look.

I’m also a huge fan of a sleeveless turtleneck, and this one is really good. It’s cut perfectly around the arms, for no gaping or exposing of bra straps, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. The details on this one are really pretty too. Unfortunately sizes are getting depleted, but I’m hoping they restock.

The fabric is soft and comfortable against the skin. It’s made of 94% acrylic/5% nylon/1% elastane, so perfect for those who can’t wear wool. It runs true to size, or you could size up for more length, but I’m wearing my usual small.

These mules are my latest shoe crush. They’re surprisingly easy to walk in, and I love the braided detail, the pointy toe, and the wood grain stacked heel. This versatile neutral shade will go with so much this fall. They look great with grey, but they’re also a beautiful complement to light wash blue jeans.

Again, sizes are getting depleted, but I do expect to see these restocked. Last spring, these popular Dolce Vita sandals sold out but were eventually restocked, and they’ve been readily available ever since. I predict these mules will be the same, as they’re available for pre-order on the Dolce Vita website. I sized down half as I always do in mules, but if you have normal or high arches, stick with your usual size.

Since this outfit is rather plain, I wore a statement bracelet to add a focal point and bring some texture and pattern to the look. This is the Faro boho cuff, gifted to me by Victoria Emerson Designs, and all of her bracelets are currently BOGO free.

For even more pattern and texture, I once again carried my Clare V. tote in the mini cat print. It just seems to go with everything right now!

I love this elevated neutral look, how about you? When the weather gets cooler, I can throw my black leather jacket on top, and I might swap the mules for booties. Scroll on down to shop the look!

  1. Evereve is becoming my favorite too. I think their style and selection is great and enjoy their TV channel. Thank you for sharing your Evereve style! More please and thank you.

  2. Love the complete look! I have been an Evereve fan for a while-actually Cyndi Spivey introduced that brand to me. Question: what brand jeans are you wearing in the” currently loving “pic with the Evereve wine color sweater? Keep up the great looks from Evereve and fall transition looks!

  3. Evereve does have cute clothing.
When you are shopping online, what sort of order do you use? I usually choose “New Arrivals” and select “newest first”.

  4. There are FIVE Evereve stores within a 30 minute drive in the Denver area which seems like a bit of overkill. I hadn’t shopped there in five-plus years until a couple months ago when I was walking by and stopped in. Bought some gray crop jeans and a black sleeveless turtleneck that make me feel like a million bucks. So I’m back on board. I placed a huge order over Labor Day and can’t wait to see what works! Thank you for letting us know on Facebook that they would offer 10% off over the weekend, it saved me quite a bit.

  5. Live this look! And those mules 🙌🏻🙌🏻. I really like Evereve but unfortunately they don’t ship to Canada:( maybe someday! Right now I do try to find some of the brands they carry from other retailers! Glad to hear Paul is coming along well!

      1. There is a workaround for this! You pay $7.00 a month through MyUS.com. you have the item delivered there, they let you know when it has arrived, and then you choose the form of shipping to Canada that you want. Eg UPS, FedEx, regular post etc. I don’t do it alot, but if I really want something………. Oh and you have to get your bank to set up a US account for you with a U S visa. Sounds convaluted but it really isn’t.

        1. Thank you Nancy for this awesome Tip!! So heLpful for us Canadians.
Jo-Lynne: not many American retailers ship up here. Its a bummer. Target left, our Walmarts don’T carry your cuter lines like Scoop or Time & Tru. Some our retailers aren’t in the US: the Bay, Reitmans, Ricki’s, Cleo’s. We look forward to America opening up the land bordEr hope soon. We can fly into the US but can not Enter into the US By car 🤷🏻‍♀️
Some of us do a lot of cross border shopping but still waiting.

  6. Hi Jo-Lynne
    I love that look!!
I intentionally lost almost 30 lbs. What I wasn’t thinking of was, I need all new clothes!! 😉

So let the shopping continue!!! 🛍️

  7. So glad Paul’s recovery is heading in the right direction. I’m so glad you are featuring Evereve more. I remember requesting them when you did a call out for who we would like to see featured more. They are my go to for trendy styles featuring well made clothing. Fun fact, they used to be called Hot Mama, and when I first saw their store I thought it was a maternity store. I’m guessing others did too!

    1. LOL, I remember when they used to be Hot Mama, but only because I bought something and they gave me a reusable shopping bag with their name all over it. The bag has held up well and makes me giggle every time I use it!

  8. I love this look, Jo-Lynne! You look so chic. Those mules are gorgeous and I’ve got them in my shopping bag.
I’m so happy to hear that your husband is home from the hospital. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers!

  9. I do hope that Paul had a restful night and that he is doing okay today! I do like this outfit, and once again, you’ve shown me that oatmeal will go with grey very nicely. Boy, this almost 65 year old is learning so much this week, and it’s only Tuesday. My sacroiliac has got to settle down so that I can wear my pants with a regular waistband and fit. Have a great evening!

  10. I need to branch out and try grey jeans. This outfit colors go so well together. Never would have thought of oatmeal with grey. Love the mules.

  11. An Evereve store just opened near me in Newport Beach; so happy! I’m hoping I’ll have some time in the near future to go up there and shop in-store. Love their selection! You look great in those gray jeans. What’s the inseam?
