Top Ten in January

Well, it’s that time again! At the beginning of a new month, I like to take a look back at the previous month’s stats and see what products and posts were the most popular, so today I’m sharing my Top Ten in January 2021!

Top 10 Posts in January 2021

Based on Google Analytics, these were the 10 most popular blog posts that I published last month.

These posts are listed in typical Top Ten order, with the most popular one last.

#10. What I Wore Lately Vol. 41

What I Wore Lately

Always a popular feature, I only did two of these posts last month, but they both made the Top Ten, albeit by the skin of their teeth. But they’re in here! This one covered the two weeks in the middle of the month.

#9. What I Wore Lately Vol. 40

And this was the first one of the month. It actually captures some of my outfits from the very end of 2020. Both are verrry casual because that’s life right now!

#8. Best Fashion & Beauty Buys of 2020

An annual feature, this post is always a hit. It’s definitely worth a re-read if you missed it. There are lots of great products in here, and many are still available.

#7. Year In Review: Highlights & Lowlights of 2020

This was a labor of love, let me tell you! It’s loooong and a bit of a downer in parts, but I know I’ll be glad I have it to look back on one day.

#6. Late Winter/Early Spring Try-On Haul

Spoiler alert: All four of my January try-on hauls made the Top Ten! They’re always popular, but it’s been a few months since they all ranked this high.

#5. Winter Fashion Try-On Haul

winter 2021 try on haul: talbots, sam edelman, jslides, mother jeans, and more

Yep, another Try-On Haul. This was the first one of the new year, and it has a lot of cozy tops, jeans, boots, and more!

#4. My Worst Purchases of 2020

Am I the only one who is amused by the fact that this post was more popular than My Best Purchases of 2020?

I got quite a few requests for this, so I hope it didn’t disappoint. Again, this isn’t necessarily about things that were no good, just things that I didn’t end up reaching for as much as I thought I would. Of course, lockdowns did play a part in that.

#3. Winter 2021 Try-On Haul

And yet another try-on haul! I shared some sneakers I’ve been trying, some LOFT finds, and my newest running gear.

#2. How to Purge Your Closet & Love Your Wardrobe Again

This post always ranks high this time of year, thanks to Pinterest, so I made a new graphic and a few minor updates and republished it last week. I guess you all liked it!

#1. Winter Fashion Try-On Haul

Yep, the other Try-On Haul is in first place! This one has some activewear and a lot of casual tops.

I’ve been trying to feature a variety of retailers and price points, and right now I’m focusing on classics and transition pieces that will take us into spring. As always, I’m open to requests and suggestions for future hauls!

Okay, moving on to popular products…

Top 10 Products in January 2021

These were the 10 most popular products across my blog and social channels last month. They’re listed in typical Top Ten order, with the most popular one last.

#10. Zella Ultralight Reversible Puffer Jacket with Removable Hood

Loving this sporty puffer coat, and bonus, it’s reversible! I’m still waiting to get the medium to decide which size to keep.

#9. CeCe Tie Sleeve Cotton Blend Sweater

I featured this one in a holiday post, but it recently went on sale in several colors including a Valentine’s Day red and a St. Paddy’s Day green.

It’s also on sale in the black, which is calling my name, but I’m trying to ignore the urge to pop it in my cart. I’m planning to wear this pretty Plumeria for our Valentine’s Day celebration, whatever that turns out to be.

#8. Colorfulkoala Women’s High Waisted Pattern Leggings

I wanted to try these after hearing how good they are, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, fit, and feel. My younger daughter adopted them and made them her own, since I didn’t need them. We will definitely purchase this brand again.

#7. On Cloud X Training Shoe

These trainers are both stylish and functional. I’ve been wearing them for my strength training workouts, and around town with my athleisure looks.

#6. AG Mari High Waist Ankle Slim Straight Leg Jeans

This is not my typical denim silhouette, but I’m really enjoying these for a change, and it sounds like a lot of you are too! They run TTS; I have the 28.

#5. Daily Ritual Women’s Supersoft Terry Open Sweatshirt

Another Amazon Fashion find, this one is actually from last spring, but I mentioned it recently, and it sold like hotcakes. It’s a nice casual topper for casual looks, more of a sweatshirt than a sweater, very cozy and comfortable. I have it in the small.

#4. Old Navy Textured Waffle-Knit Cowl-Neck Sweater

I was really impressed by this Old Navy find. This sweater is so pretty, flattering, and also comfortable. It comes in other colors too, but this is the mauve. It’s TTS; I have the small.

#3. Yidarton Animal Print Tee

This Amazon tee is a fan favorite. In fact, it was my top seller in all of 2020. It comes in a variety of prints, necklines, and sleeve lengths.

I’m wearing the A-leopard-v Neck in the picture above and the A-leopard03 in the picture below.

This tee also layers nicely under denim and leather jackets, and it runs true to size; I’m wearing the small in both.

#2. Halogen V-Neck Cashmere Sweater

This popular sweater finally got bumped down into second place, but it was still a high performer this month.

There are still some colors and sizes left, and it’s currently 50% off. The red and shock pink are both really pretty for Valentine’s Day, just sayin’. This sweater runs TTS with a generous fit; I have my usual small.

And the winner is… DRUMROLL PLEASE!!! 🥁

#1. Halogen Cashmere Turtleneck

I guess this shouldn’t be a surprise, since I featured this sweater so much last month! If you didn’t grab one, there are a few colors and sizes left, and it’s a great price. This sweater also runs TTS with a generous fit, and I have the small.

If you don’t care for the drop shoulder, Quince does a good classic cashmere turtleneck, and shipping and returns are free. I would recommend sizing up in theirs.

And that’s a wrap! I always like to ask, which posts from January were your favorites, and did you score any of these Top Ten products?

I’ll be back tomorrow with a new outfit, so be sure to check back in for that!

  1. I enjoy all of your posts, but especially the try on hauls and what I wore lately. After reading yesterday’s post I was able to score the Vince ribbed sweater  for 80% off! There was 1 left in my size in black. Yay! What I love most about reading your blog though is your realism. Thanks for all of your hard work and making us all feel like you are just having a chat with your close friend.

  2. I have to say I also loved the Worst purchases post as well! For one your humor made it a fun read 😊
I so enjoy your daily posts, Jo-Lynne, you are the real deal ❤️

  3. I am not surprised that your post on the purchased items that you are not reaching for as often as you thought you would made the list.  It is a reminder that just because you are a fashion blogger, you too make some goofs.  I am going to delay reading your post on the VE sale to see how much control I have on purchasing more bracelets.  Of course, if I stick to bracelets that will work well with my signature colors, it would be a positive expenditure.  Have a great day!

  4. I love to see these posts to see if anything I purchased made it. My favorite of the things I purchased from this list are the CloudX shoes. They were perfect from the first time I put them on my feet, and I never felt any rubbing or discomfort anywhere. I also like the look of them.
I also purchased the AG Mari and liked them so much that I purchased a different wash from Saks that you mentioned were on sale. I purchased the camel cashmere in first place also.
The jacket and oatmeal cashmere will probably go in my cart. Oh, and I purchased the cheetah print tee in the summer or fall when you first showed it. I think I only wore it once, but I liked it.

  5. I enjoy all your post but I do like the try on hauls. I’m one who thinks awhile before I buy so I’m not sure how many Jan. ones I purchased as I bought things you styled after the fact. Example: The Vince Camuto Jean jacket, the Evereve black mules, the Zella live in jogger and the Zella funnel neck Fleece to name a few. Love them all. Thanks for all you did to give us some distraction and fun in 2020 when we all needed it. 2021 doesn’t seem to have changed much, which I think we all knew but we still have hope. Today I woke up so discouraged and tearful from struggling with my chronic migraines…. was up half the night with one, many food allergies, isolated days because of covid world etc and yours and Cyndi’s blog and of course my time in the Word helped. There is always something to be grateful for in these hard days. Keep doing what you are doing.

  6. Love these posts.  I have been eyeing the Amazon leopard print tees since you first posted them and I finally decided I need one.  Thanks for linking them again!  I just ordered a couple to see which print works best for me.  I really like the crew neck print you have on.

  7. Would the On Cloud Trainers be good walking shoes? I’m not a runner, but I walk 2 miles every day and my current New Balance sneaks are worn. Looking to replace them. Thoughts?

    1. I can definitely walk miles in them, but I usually walk in my Brooks Ghost b/c I keep my custom orthotics in those, and I want to make sure I have maximum stability. But I have foot and ankle issues… the On Cloud are great for moderate exercise. They also have a running style, not sure how it compare to their trainers: https://shopstyle.it/l/brrC2

    2. I walk 5 miles a day in my On Cloudswift shoes, and I have zero problems! They are also perfect for athleisure. I highly recommend them!

  8. I like all your posts, but had to laugh when I read your comments about your worst purchases from 2020. I even forwarded this one onto my sister to read. I love that you share how discerning your are about pieces and your disappointments with things you thought would be winners. This is real life and it teaches us to be have better judgement too. I also wanted to share how much I appreciate your authenticity. I just watched Fake Famous on HBO with my family and I’m aghast at how many influencers work and get to the status they are. It’s apparent the hard work and effort you put in and the way you take it seriously. Thank you for being you and being willing to be vulnerable with us, share your life with us and help us learn.

  9. I purchased the Halogen cashmere turtleneck in Camel and I love it!! It’s a tad shear but I love the color and the fit!! It’s also very soft:) I love your posts @nd appreciate all of your hard work to make things easier for me.🤗
    Thanks Jolynne

  10. Just ordered the Halogen v-neck Cashmere! I got a $10 coupon from Nordstrom yesterday & used it. What a deal! Your hard work on this blog is obvious as the content and information is heads above the others. Thank you!
