What I Wore Lately Vol. 125

Happy Wednesday! I’ve got a new edition of What I Wore Lately for you today. This post covers the past couple of weeks, including what I wore in Florida. This is a long one, so let’s get to it!

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and I usually wear a small or medium in tops and dresses, a 29 in jeans and pants, and a size 8 shoe. Gifted items are indicated by c/o; everything else I purchased myself.

What I Wore Lately: Two Weeks of Everyday Outfits

I love wearing pink with light wash denim, and my pewter puffer is the perfect topper.

old Nordstrom Signature sweater (S) (option) // MOTHER Dazzler (29) (similar for less) // similar P448 sneakers (39)

I wore this cardigan outfit to run some errands after a photo shoot with Alison. These Gap Factory flares are a great budget-friendly alternative to the FRAME pair I’m wearing here.

Caslon cardigan (S) // FRAME tee (XS) (option) // FRAME Le Easy Flare (29) (option) // Marc Fisher boots (8)

This pink sweater is budget-friendly and really cute on. I love the 23″ length.

I wore this next outfit to go out to dinner with friends. This sweater was a splurge last fall, but I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth out of it! In fact, I would say that is true for these jeans and boots, as well.

This outfit adds up, but each piece can be mixed and matched in various ways, and I’ve worn them all a ton this year.

Rails cardigan (S) // MOTHER Weekender (29) (option) // Vince boots (8)

Another casual look with straight ankle jeans, sneakers, and what I like to call an elevated sweatshirt.

My friend Jen at Everyday Style School calls them beyond-basic sweatshirts, which I think I like even better. It just means a sweatshirt with some extra details – like that stripe zipper placket.

tape half zip sweatshirt (S) // MOTHER Dazzler (29) (similar for less) // similar P448 sneakers (39)

This is an outfit I wore to church. It’s one of my tried and true combinations that I can grab and go when I’m in a rush and don’t have time to overthink it.

I like how the shades of brown in the accessories provide a subtle contrast against the denim and cool neutral oatmeal sweater.

old Vince sweater (S) // PAIGE Laurel Canyon (29) (option) // Vince boots (8) // Coach bucket bag

And that brings us to the day I traveled to Sarasota. I’ve got my spring/summer travel uniform pretty much down pat.

I always wear my heaviest shoes (usually sneakers) with jeans and a jacket over a white t-shirt. That way, I can remove the jacket and wear the tee by itself if it’s hot when I reach my destination, and I can also re-wear it a bunch of different ways during my trip.

Gap utility jacket (S) // FRAME tee (XS) (option) // PAIGE Anessa (29) (option) // similar P448 sneakers (39)

Once I got to Florida, I removed my jacket and swapped my sneakers for Birks, and this is what I wore to dinner that night at the restaurant in our hotel. My shirt is a bit wrinkled here, but after hanging overnight, it looked just fine. I didn’t even need to iron it.

FRAME tee (XS) (option) // PAIGE Anessa (29) (option) // similar P448 sneakers (39) // Birks (39)

I wore this outfit down to lunch the next day to meet up with Alison when she got in. I love how light and airy it is for spring and summer.

Evereve blouse (S) // PAIGE Claudine (29) (option) // Sam Edelman sandals (8) // straw clutch

After a long afternoon shooting outfits and a room change, Deb, Lindsey, Alison, and I met at the pool bar for drinks.

Grateful Dead graphic tee (M) // old AG jean shorts (option) // Birks (39)

After a quick nap, I changed for dinner. We went to a restaurant in Sarasota that I can’t recall at the moment.

FRAME tee (XS) (option) // AG denim jacket (S) (option) // PAIGE Claudine (29) (option) // AllSaints belt // Vionic sandals (8) // woven tote

I wore this outfit down to the pool area for coffee with Deb… actually the day before. I forgot to take a picture that day, so I put it on again to shoot with Alison, and took this quick pic.

Faherty stripe top (S) // KUT from the Kloth Meg with Cuff (6) // Birks (39)

We started shooting at 7:30 that morning, and then took a break for lunch. We drove down to St. Armand’s Circle and ate at Shore. It was wonderful; highly recommend, if you’re ever in the area.

FRAME tee (XS) (option) // KUT from the Kloth Meg with Cuff (6) // Sam Edelman sandals // straw clutch // rattan earrings

We did some shopping afterwards, and then we drove over to Longboat Key for a change of scenery and to shoot a few more outfits there.

Deb’s Look // Jo-Lynne’s Look

Then it was back to the hotel for some downtime before dinner at Café L’Europe.

Treasure & Bond sweater (S) // AG denim jacket (S) (option) // KUT from the Kloth Meg Wide Leg (6) // Vince Camuto sandals (8) // woven tote

Alison and Lindsey went home the next day, but Deb and I stayed over one more night. I finally got to enjoy the pool that we had been using as a backdrop for our photos

La Blanca swimsuit (10) // Sea Level coverup (S)

Deb and I walked a few blocks to grab some dinner, so I put on some makeup and real clothes.

Faherty stripe top (S) // PAIGE Claudine (29) (option) // Sam Edelman sandals (8)

And then it was time to pack up and go home! Sheesh, that mirror got dirtier every day! I don’t understand; I swear, I never touched it. I need to start traveling with Windex wipes, I guess.

Gap utility jacket (S) // FRAME tee (XS) (option) // PAIGE Anessa (29) (option) // similar P448 sneakers (39)

Back at home, we had our daughter’s Indoor Percussion competition last Saturday, so I wore jeans and sneakers with our team t-shirt. This post is getting way log, and I don’t think that’s really worthy of a photograph.

Our weather has been pretty mild since I got home, so I was able to wear one of my new spring outfits for church on Sunday. I just wore clogs instead of sandals… although I don’t think my clogs are long for this world. Ever since someone said on my Facebook Page that clogs remind them of horses’ hooves, I can’t unsee it.

Treasure & Bond sweater (S) // AG denim jacket (S) (option) // KUT from the Kloth Meg Wide Leg (6) // Kork-Ease clogs (8)

I changed into my Frank & Eileen travel set once we got home. I was going to bring it with me to Florida, but the black seemed rather heavy for that. I was wishing I’d ordered a lighter color for all of my upcoming spring travel, but it’s perfect for transition seasons in the northeast.

Effie Long-Sleeve Funnel Neck Capelet c/o (S) // Bella Italian Sweatpant c/o (S) // Birks (39)

I mostly worked at home on Monday, but I had an appointment with my chiropractor, and a couple of zoom calls, so I got dressed in this casual outfit.

Michael Stars Maren Pullover (S) // MOTHER Dazzler (29) (similar for less) // VEJA sneakers (39)

And finally, I wore the same jeans with another one of my “beyond basic sweatshirts” to work from home all day yesterday. I was literally on the computer for 14 hours. My chiropractor is really going to have his work cut out for him at my next visit!

tape trim hoodie (S) // MOTHER Dazzler (29) (similar for less) // similar P448 sneakers (39)

I’ve definitely got Spring Fever, now that I’ve had a taste of warm weather, so I’ve put away my heaviest sweaters and boots, and I’m wearing mostly transitional styles right now. How about you???

    1. The Modern. It was very cool. I wasn’t sure about it at first but I warmed up to it. I show pictures on my Instagram story. I will add it to a highlight so they are still accessible.

  1. Horse’s hooves?? No, they don’t! I will keep wearing mine because I love them!

I liked all of your outfits in this post. I just scored a pair of Paige Anessas and I’m excited to wear them with sandals.

      1. Haha, Jo-Lynne! I understand not being able “unsee” something. Sometimes I really wish I didn’t read comments like that, they can really mess with your mind. Please keep wearing your clogs! And commenters, please be careful how you word your negative opinions, it really can upset someone when you didn’t mean to do that!

  2. Jolynne,

Love your easygoing style! Can you tell me where the bright pink jacket on the woman you were with is from?

Also, can you wear a denim jean jacket with blue jeans? I never feel like it’s quite right, but I love just being able to grab a Jean jacket to throw on without having to coordinate an outfit.

    1. Thank you! I linked Deb’s outfit to her LTK account under the 2nd pic of us.

You can wear denim jacket with jeans, and it is actually a trendy thing to do right now, but it has to be done intentionally. Personally, it’s not my favorite look.

  3. I looked at the first picture of you in your email greeting and thought “Wow, looks like JoLynne is in So CA” I’ve never been to Florida, but the background could be my neighborhood! The navy and white outfit definitely says “ready for spring.” So cute.

  4. For some reason I can only read this post using Chrome browser which is my default on Gmail. I normally pull your website on DuckduckGo but this post is not there. Your website is bookmarked so I did a new search and I still can’t see it. I had to read it on Chrome with all the ads which is very distracting.

  5. Love all the outfits! Looks like the Florida trip was a success! Did you post any outfits yet styling cargo jeans yet?

  6. Love all the outfits. I am so ready for Spring. It’s been cold here with a touch of snow but I still try to dress in lighter colors and more Spring like. I’m ready for Summer! lol Sounds like you had a great trip. Easter is coming so fast and I’m trying to figure out what I’ll wear when it’s so early and not usually warm and sometimes rainy this time of year. I prefer pants.

  7. How does the Frank and Eileen set fit? You are I usually wear the same size but when I look at the F&E size chart, it says I should be a medium. Does this material stretch? Is it worth the cost? Thanks. They new site looks great, BTW

    1. Yeah, I went with a small because of the swingy shape of the top, but the arms are snug, and I think the pants could be a medium. They’re comfortable, though. Whether or not they’re worth the cost is such a personal thing. I hope to have it for a long time. 🙂

  8. I’ve been wearing long sleeves instead of sweaters, and switched my winter coat for a rain coat!

  9. I had to laugh about the “horse hoof” comment. I’ve honestly thought the same. I think the clogs would look best with full length wide legs or flairs.

  10. Love these posts! You motivate me to try to look my best (which ain’t easy) every day! Love your new site. It’s very classy.
