WORK TO WEEKEND: Pink Chiffon Blouse Two Ways

It’s been about a minute since I styled white jeans so I thought I’d share this look today. I probably way over-wear this summer staple, but white jeans are the perfect base for so many outfits.

While this blouse looks great with dark denim and lighter wash styles, I love how the white base brings out the white in the pattern and makes the pink all the more vibrant. I also styled this blouse with white shorts for a more casual weekend look.

This chiffon blouse comes in a SLEW of color ways — all different prints and color combinations, and I like how you can wear the sleeves long or buttoned up at the elbow. I’m wearing a size small, and I’d say it runs true to size for the brand.

I have to wear a cami under this top because it’s very sheer, so I went with a white one. I was afraid my nude one would look too nekkid, but after seeing these pictures, I think I’ll try the nude next time.

That said, I think it’s supposed to be obvious I’m wearing something underneath, so maybe the white is best. I’m curious to hear what you think.

I’m wearing my go-to white jeans that you’ve seen many times, but there are a lot of other good options out there. See my white jeans review for more!

The DL1961 Emma legging jeans are very similar to the Paige Verdugo style that I’m wearing here, and they’re currently $99. In fact, they were my favorite jeans before I discovered these and the AG legging jeans.

SALE ALERT >> DL1961 is having a flash 4-day sale where all of their white jeans are $99. DL1961 jeans fit great and do not bag out at all, and their white denim is fantastic — thick and stretchy and not see-through at all.

I went with a neutral shoe to ground the look. White pumps or sandals would be fun too, but I think it’s nice to bring in this dove grey to tone down the bright pink and white. While my exact shoes are no longer available, there are a lot of taupe sandal options, and gold sandals would be nice with this too.

I dubbed this a work wear look, but I realize some office settings don’t allow jeans or open toe shoes. You could totally wear pumps with this look or even ballet flats if you don’t want a heel, and feel free to swap out the white jeans for white pants.

I also wanted to show this blouse with shorts for another option. It was my natural inclination to dress it up, but you can dress it down just as easily, which makes it an even more versatile piece to have in your closet.

This time I wore my Tory Burch Miller sandals in the Makeup color. They’re pretty close to my skin color so they help elongate the line of the leg and keep the focus on the top.

My bag isn’t the same shade as the shoes, but it’s a light neutral with pink undertones, so I think it blends in just fine.

I kept my jewelry minimal with a cuff bracelet and two-tone earrings.

Which look do you like better???

  1. Well you know I’m a sucker for bright pink, so I love that top. As far as which look I like better…for me, the jeans!  I don’t find myself wearing many shorts unless I’m around the house! Lol!  It must be that 50+ club i’m in!! 😉 Enjoying your blog!

  2. Hi Jo-Lynne! Cute top! Yes, white jeans are my summer go-to, too. In fact, I styled them for today’s post also. I get you on that cami conundrum. I’ve tried nude ones before and also felt they left me looking….well, nude! So I like the white under it, especially since you’re wearing white jeans with it. Now if you were wearing blue jeans that might be a different story, huh. Hmm. Sometimes I wish they just hung the right undergarment/accessory/shoes/whatever with a piece of clothing! Like garanimals! Ha, ha!

    Have a great weekend!

  3. Love it with the shorts!  I like shorts with 3/4 or long sleeves…probably because my upper body gets cold in stores and restaurants.

  4. I love it both ways…and again, this pink is so stunning on you!  I had on a very similar outfit to the second one this morning but in peach and denim.  But PMS-induced body dysmorphia had me uncomfortable and quickly changing into a super oversized tee shirt instead!  Oh well, the life of a woman, right? Have a wonderful weekend!

  5. 💯!  I really like the white tank underneath since you are wearing white jeans and shorts.  I like both outfits equally.  I really appreciate you including information regarding the shoes and handbag you chose.  I am paying attention to it!  I hope y’all have a great day and fabulous weekend!

  6. Very pretty, love pink, I think I like the shorts outfit best. When you bring stuff to thrift store is it just to donate? I’m sta

  7. Such a cute blouse I love the pink:) I think I’d stick with the white cami it looks good to me.. especially with the white bottoms.
    Enjoy your weekend 😀

  8. So can relate ten days until my closing and
I’m over all the boxes and packing!
I love both looks….but I appreciate you reminding me
not to save my chiffon shirts for church!
Never thought to try them with shorts!
    Happy Packing!

  9. Love that pink top–looks great both ways but I, too, just love the white jeans w/colorful tops. My summer uniform until the real heat sets in. Also, “nekkid” seriously made me laugh.

  10. I feel the same about my white jeans and styling them so frequently, but they really are a summer staple! Love the hot pink top. If you can find a hot pink cami I bet that would work great under it and really make the pink pop! Oh the struggles we have…LOL Happy weekend! Have fun at orientation. XO

  11. I like the shorts outfit best. I already have the white shorts and the makeup sandals! love the top! May have to order it!

  12. Love the looks:). Right on. Love those make up sandals. Wish they’d go on better sale. Please update us if they do. Thanks. Blessings on your packing day.

  13. Wow, I love anything that hot pink color!  I might have to get this.  I am always looking for lightweight shirts I can wear in the kindergarten classrooms I work in, because I get too hot!  The A/C can’t even begin to keep up with 20 some kids and adults in the rooms.  Half the time I need a cami underneath practically everything anyway, just to hide my middle-age tummy bulge.

  14. Love this top! One of my favorite tops because it keeps me comfortable in air conditioning but not too hot when I go outdoors. I typically have good luck matching my cami to the top when white isn’t the look I want. Super cute!

  15. I think the white underneath looks fine. I usually always start w/nude color first. Yes, I kinda feel naked, but knowing I’m covered is enough for me! I’d be curious to see how a bright pink one would look. Worth a try, if you have one!? Anyway, love the blouse and you wear it well, JoLynne.

  16. Lovely look. Oh how I wish I could have worn this look when I was working, but we had a strict dress code. Maybe not the shorts though, I would have put my colleagues off their work, and not in a good way … my legs are not for showcasing!
    Happy weekend, hugs x.

  17. Both outfits are great! I think both shoe choices were smart, anything bolder would take away from the pretty top. I wore white jeans to work yesterday since we are allowed jeans on Fridays 🙂
