Prepping My Skin for the Holiday Season

There’s something about this time of year, especially this year, as we’re at home so much more than usual, that has me taking more time for skincare and other self-care activities.

I guess that’s why I’ve been experimenting with so many new skincare products recently. Even if all the parties are on Zoom, I still want glowing skin for the holiday season!

I enjoyed the philosophy products I used over the summer, so I was excited to select a few more from their line to try.

Also, philosophy Miracle Worker+ products are 40% off 12/6 through 12/12, and I’ve been needing a richer night cream, so the first product I selected to try was this anti-wrinkle+ line correcting overnight cream.

This cream feels thick and rich, and it has a pleasant but not overbearing scent. It’s designed to erase the look of fine lines as you sleep, while recharging the skin and helping to counteract the signs of stress.

If my face is showing my stress half as badly as my back and shoulders are these days, this cream is here just in time!

I also decided to try this purity made one-step facial cleanser. This cleanser is one of philosophy’s most popular products, and many of you will be happy to know, it is now formulated without parabens.

This cleanser is best for normal to dry skin types, and it’s basically a 3-in-1 product that helps to melt away dirt, oil, and makeup while also toning and hydrating the skin.

I absolutely love the fresh scent, and the way this cleanser leaves my skin feeling smooth and balanced and ready for the next step in my skincare routine.

I also ordered another renewed hope in a jar peeling mousse because mine ran out and I missed having it in my arsenal.

It’s a peeling face mask that uses a combination of exfoliation and enzymes to grab and roll away the dirt and debris that causes dull skin.

You just apply it to clean skin with your fingertips and rub it around while it balls up and cleans away all those impurities.

The result is smooth, glowing skin that feels soft and smooth to the touch. It’s a wonderful feeling, and you can use it several times a week.

All three of these products have taken up permanent residence in my winter skincare arsenal, and they’re a part of my current nightly routine.

If you’re looking to refresh your skincare products or prep for glowing skin this holiday season, I highly recommend checking these out, especially the anti-wrinkle miracle worker+ line correcting overnight cream while it’s 40% off.

  1. I have used this cleanser for years. It is the best I have found. I have tried others but I always come back to philosophy.

  2. Jo-Lynne, when you are at your desk, working, do you have your keyboard on a pullout shelf? Ideally, you want your arm/elbow at a 90 degree angle. When working on a laptop with the laptop on a table, that angle is not good for the sholders/neck.
(maybe this is not the cause of your issues at all, and if that is the case, feel free to ignore, haha!!) Feel better!!!

  3. Have used Purity cleanser year round for at least 15 years – absolutely the best I’ve found! Cleans really well without drying. I’m going to try that peeling mousse – sounds great!

  4. Been definitely wanting to step up my facial products so this is a timely post. I’ve really been missing my facials but don’t think it’s safe to get a facial yet?  So I’ve been trying to do better with at home products. Do you have any suggestions for an eye cream that helps reduce puffiness and bags?

    1. I did get a facial, but it wasn’t enjoyable b/c they had a sticky mask for over my mouth. I dunno… I would just rather wait till safe to do without a mask.

I have used several eye creams over the years but nothing that I feel really helps with bags and puffiness. I do like to use one for hydration, though.

  5. Thanks for this! Do you think the Renewed Hope product is good for a young person? My daughter (22) is asking for a product to “brighten” and you mentioned it could have that effect. I’ve never tried this brand!
