Stylish Fall Layering Pieces at Great Prices

** This post is sponsored by Gap Factory and Collective Voice.

Hi friends! Happy Labor Day weekend! Of course there are lots of sales going on this weekend, and Gap Factory is no exception. They have 50 – 70% off sitewide, plus an extra 10% off the rest of your purchase online, and clearance is an extra 50% off (exclusions apply).

They also have tees and shorts from $10, and jeans & sweaters from $20, so this is a great time to pick up some stylish fall layering pieces at great prices.

I’m so glad to see corduroys trending this season, and these high rise ’70s flares in the sable brown are giving me all the fall feels. The patch pockets on the front keep them looking current, and the stretch corduroy fabric is so comfortable.

They come in a wide range of sizes and in short, regular, and long lengths; and they run true to size. The inseam on the regular size is 32″, which is perfect on me at 5’5″ when I wear a bit of a heel.

I styled these cords two ways for this post, first with a versatile ivory sweater and a timeless camel topcoat.

This is an amazing price for a classic coat like this one. It has a nice, easy fit; and it’s fully lined. It also comes in black, and it runs true to size.

I really like the single-breasted styling and contrasting buttons. The fit is a bit oversized, but I think that’s the vibe they’re going for. I’m very comfortable wearing the small over a sweater, like this one, so I’d say it’s true to size, or size down if in between.

The textured crewneck sweater I’m wearing underneath is super soft and comfortable, and it comes in a bunch of great colors for the season. It’s made of a cotton/nylon/polyester blend, making it perfect for those who can’t tolerate wool.

I also styled these cords with the ribbed cardigan from last month’s post with Gap Factory. By the way, everything I wore in that post is also on sale this weekend!

This cardigan comes in several colors, and of course, you can wear it unbuttoned over a tank or cami, but I like the buttoned-up look. I left a few buttons open for added interest, and to create a split neck effect.

Since the prices are so good right now, I also grabbed a pair of black cropped wide leg jeans. How fun are these??

I love the patch pockets and the subtle fading along the seams, and they have just enough elastane (2%) to give you that vintage denim look with the comfort of modern day stretch fabric.

Even though they’re cropped, I felt like the wide leg silhouette could use some height, so I wore a pair of low-heeled booties in a matching color to elongate the lower body.

I topped off the black jeans and boots with a cozy v-neck sweater in a beautiful hue they call

This sweater is super soft and stretchy, with the perfect amount of slouch (and no wool content, either!)

I gave this sweater a front tuck to keep my proportions balanced and to help define the waist (and show off those pockets!)

Finally, one more look with these jeans, a little more casual this time with a relaxed waffle knit henley in a pretty shade of sage green. I styled this with clogs, but you could also wear mules or loafers if you prefer flats.

This top is really lightweight, so it’s perfect for early fall and transition season. You could also dress it down with blue jeans and sneakers. It runs true to size, and it also comes in several color choices.

I rounded up these and more Gap Factory favorites on sale for you in a convenient shopping widget below, and I’m happy to answer any questions about fit or sizing in the comments.

Shipping is free over $50, and returns are free for 30 days, so if in doubt, order two sizes and return what doesn’t work. Enjoy the rest of your long weekend!

  1. Glad it is cool where you are. We will be experiencing a few more days of 100 degrees. I did order the corduroy pants and cardigan. Maybe I can wear them for Thanksgiving. Our shortest season is usually fall. With such good prices…I couldn’t pass these up. Thanks!

  2. I like the corduroy pants but the short is not short enough for me. I like the wide leg crops too. I think they would look better with a more fitted or crop top than a loose sweater. We’re still burning up here but I’m still going to put myself in fall mood with fall colors with my tops.

  3. What is your height and weight ? Hope that’s ok to ask. Might give me a better idea about which size to order. Thank you

  4. What great looks on you! I really like the corduroy pants and the Henley top. I’m jealous of the 55 low. Today & tomorrow is going to have lower humidity and high’s in the 80’s, then the humidity and 90’s come back.

  5. FYI for anyone experiencing issues with ads after Jo-Lynne had them fixed. when I first loaded the post from today the large Kroger ads were still interrupting the scrolling. I closed out of the tab and cleared all my browser history and cookies. When I came back to the blog post, it was working as she mentioned it would work. Thanks Jo-Lynne for fixing this. I am using Safari on iPad.

  6. I love how you styled the corduroy pants… looks so good on you!! Like the cropped jeans better casually styled with the break at the bottom to show your ankles better. I feel like the black cropped jeans with the black boots looks dated and a little frumpy.
But that’s the fun thing about fashion… wear what you like!!

  7. I’m a sucker for corduroy pants! What is the length of the rise, please? I can’t do much higher than 11.5″, preferably lower.
I’m loving the ribbed v-neck tank in the gorgeous garnet color. I wore it when I went out for dinner/drinks, 2 days in a row! Thinking about another color, I highly recommend it to anyone I talk to about fashion!

  8. Those corduroy pants would look nice with a fall floral top if you happen to have one with similar colors. I have a black long sleeve blouse with brown and tan flowers, think I need these pants to wear with it!
