Every woman knows the struggle of finding the perfect bra – one that is comfortable, supportive, and looks good under clothes… and at a price that doesn’t break the budget.

You may think such a unicorn doesn’t exist, but Warners has cracked the code with their This Is Not A Bra™ Cushioned Underwire Lightly Lined T-Shirt Bra (#1593) .

They truly thought of everything with this t-shirt bra, from underarm smoothing to natural lifting to no dig wire engineering. It’s by far the most comfortable bra I’ve worn in years.

See that cream-colored “band” covering the underwire portion of the bra? It is a satin-covered cushioned underwire casing created for dig-free comfort. Brilliant!

This is something I’ve been especially sensitive to since my breast reduction surgery last year. My favorite bra for shaping and lifting can be irritating, but the Warners This Is Not A Bra™ Cushioned Underwire T-Shirt Bra (#1593) is not.

Even if you aren’t dealing with that particular issue, if you find underwire bras uncomfortable but like the support they provide, you definitely need to try this one.

But of course, we all know that comfort is not enough. Women want a bra that looks great too, and I’m happy to report that this bra provides excellent shape underneath my clothing.

The other thing I really like about this bra is the convenient, front-adjustable straps.

Did you know you should adjust your straps every time you put on your bra? They tend to loosen up with wear throughout the day, and you won’t look your best or have the support you need without tightening them up, but sometimes it’s hard to find just the right setting.

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve taken my bra off to adjust my straps, and with the front-adjustable straps, I can easily get the perfect fit while I’m wearing my bra.

And perhaps the best part of all, this bra also provides a smooth look across the back, even underneath my form-fitting tops like this tank.

Even though I think the This Is Not A Bra™ looks great from the back and sides, I plan to try out the No Side Effects Underarm-Smoothing Comfort Underwire Lightly Lined T-Shirt Bra (#1356) to compare, because it actually has side-smoothing panels and elastic-free sides and back for a seamless look.

If you prefer a wireless bra, you might want to check out the Warners No Side Effects Underarm-Smoothing Comfort Wireless Lightly Lined T-Shirt Bra (#1056).

In addition to all of these features, Warners bras are surprisingly affordable, and they’re conveniently available at Amazon and ship free with Prime! Anytime I can purchase something on Amazon, it’s a win in my book.

    1. I went ahead and remeasured by Warner’s scale and ordered both bras you featured. Excited to try them out. Went to my local and only real department store in our area last week and tried on about a dozen bras and the only one that I really liked was not available in the right size, frustrating! You had to buy two of the same brand to get a decent sale price which was higher than these.

  1. I ordered the bra last week based on your recommendation. It is the best fitting bra I’ve had in years. It does make me feel bustier then I am as a B cup who spends most of my time in sports bra but it also helps balance out my proportions so I’ll take it. I too am excited to try the no side effects bra and am going to go add it to my cart now before it sells out in my size.

  2. The price-for-comfort of these IS AMAZING (like, practically, they’re giving them away)! I mean: it seems now, in dept. stores, you can’t even begin to find bras where you’ll be satisfied with most of their design AND style for under $38. The “embellished” type often have very irritable fabric with poor support; while the “utilitarian” variety LOL look unflattering/bulky under thin tops — like a suit of armor/and pricey to the point of rather opting for a onepiece shaper instead. Thank you for doing a post on these!

  3. I believe this is the bra cyndi featured awhile back but they didn’t have my size in it so I ordered I believe the one you want to compare it to. I’d have to go look. I like it ok. I think it may feel alittle tight. I want to try this one now. Prices are great. Did you buy your normal size and could you tell me what color you bought for under white. I like a nude under white. Did you do toasted almond?

  4. PS. Yes Jo lynne. I have the one you want to try next. The #1356. I think I feel it’s tight because I was due for new bras and so I’m sure it’s going to feel tight to what I had. I like it though. I don’t like shopping fir bras and they are so expensive so these are great. I don’t usually buy clothes etc from Amazon but these are an exception for sure.

  5. I wear the No Side Effects one and have for years. It’s my favorite bra. The best part is that it’s not super expensive so I can actually replace them as often as they should be replaced.

  6. Also I loved your recommendations for going-out tops in the newsletter. I ordered two of them. This is exactly the kind of stuff I’m trying to build up more of in my wardrobe right now.

  7. I have the “No side effects” and have been wearing them for years. I’ll have to try this new one now. I do love comfort, but I need the wire!

  8. I just ordered all three mentioned bras. I’m having a terrible time with comfort from my Soma bras. At some point, it feels like they changed the fabric on the sides and it doesn’t “give” like they used to. Thank you for the recommendations, Jo-Lynne!

  9. Bummer these never come in my size. I’m a solid 30ddd. I’ve tried the “sister size” thing and it never works. Still searching for an affordable supportive bra in my size. I did try the Freda one that you used to like. So far that’s giving me the support I need and is somewhat comfortable for most of the day. Just wish is wasn’t soooooo expensive!

  10. Thanks for letting us know about these bras. The one by with side panels doesn’t come in a 32DD. (Don’t they realize skinny older women have the same issues as bigger women when it comes to bras.) I’m going to try the one you’re wearing.

  11. I bought this bra today and it was delivered this evening! Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me. I felt that it made me look bustier than I am and I’m 36C so I don’t need more. But mostly I didn’t like how the sides of the bra made me bulge. I felt like it was emphasizing my back and side fat so no go for me.

  12. Having trouble with the links to purchase on Amazon. I have the #1593 bra and I love it. I’d like to buy another one using your link so you get credit.

  13. Thanks for the recommendation! I’m going to add it to the cart. I ordered the Maidenform Racerback you recommended a couple of years ago, it’s a great bra.
