Amazon Prime Day!
Greetings, friends! Happy Monday! I’m throwing this post together real quick before I go to settlement for our old house. I apologize if it sounds disjointed, but I wanted to make sure you know that Prime Day starts today at 3PM EST!!! That’s right, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is not the only legendary sale happening right now.
Prime Day is an epic day-and-a-half of the best deals you will get all year at amazon.com. And Amazon Device Deals started 12 hours early, so that’s going on right now! These are the biggest savings yet on Alexa-enabled products like Echo, Fire TV, and Fire tablets.
I often say that I live and die by Amazon Prime. I swear, hardly a day goes by that a box doesn’t arrive on my doorstep from Amazon. Every member of my household uses it regularly. I don’t even go to Target much anymore because I get all of my paper products and cleaning supplies from Amazon. It’s just too stinkin’ convenient. With the app on my phone and the Buy Now With One Click button, it can be downright dangerous. Fortunately it’s really easy to reverse an order, lol!!!
Prime Day is exclusively for Prime members, so if you haven’t taken the plunge yet, you can sign up for a 30-Day Free Trial and enjoy all of the Prime Day benefits. Once you see how convenient it is, you may decide it’s worth the subscription, but even if you don’t, you can still enjoy all the Prime Day benefits for free!
During Prime Day, you will be able to find deals organized by more than 40 of the most-shopped-for interests, from style and fashion to electronics, cooking, travel and more. Yes, I said style. Amazon has an extensive fashion department, as well as all of the other departments they’re more widely known for.
We definitely drank the Kool-Aid when it comes to Alexa. We have the Echo Plus in our kitchen, which we use to get the news every morning and to play music while I cook. We love to play Jeopardy as a family at night after dinner. Alexa users, have you tried that? Just say, “Alexa, play Jeopardy!” It probably does way more than I even know, but those are our favorite ways to use it.
My older daughter also has the Echo Dot in her room, which she uses to set alarms and reminders and to play her music up there. It’s only $29.99 today!
We’re also big Kindle fans in our house. I think we each have one now. My personal favorite is the Kindle Paperwhite, and during Prime Day, you can get it for $40 off. This Paperwhite has twice as many pixels as the previous generation, a built-in adjustable light, no screen glare, and Prime members read free with unlimited access to over a thousand titles.
The other thing I’ve been loving is Prime Pantry. It makes it so easy to stock up on pantry items, and it’s almost always a better deal than buying in-store. During Prime Day, you can save $10 on Prime Pantry orders of $40 or more on regular everyday-size pantry items with a free 30-day trial membership. Just need to enter promo code ‘PANTRY’ at checkout.
We haven’t tried Amazon Music, but we might need to now because one of the Prime Day deals is you get 6 mos free of Amazon Music when you buy an Echo. My other daughter has been wanting an Echo, so this is a great time to do it, and I can hold it for her birthday in October.
As they start rolling out, I’ll be sharing the good fashion deals this afternoon and tomorrow on my Facebook Page and Insta Story, so be looking out for that, but also feel free to peruse the fashion section at your leisure. Also search the popular brands you enjoy, and you may be surprised at how much you find!
Here’s a guide to shopping Prime Day like a pro! I’d love to hear what you’re shopping for.
Good luck, and happy clicking!
Wow! Glad I read your blog right after I ordered our new Echo (upgraded from the Dot!) They didn’t advertise the free 6 month music subscription very well so I cancelled my order and reordered it with the freebie! Thanks for the heads up! Hoping there are more good deals ahead!
Oooh, good fast thinking!
Wow, this is great info. Thanks for sharing. We have a prime membership and love it. I will have to take advantage of some of these deals.
With your son going off to college, here’s how we use the echo dot with our son. He’s in an apartment. We both have echo dots and have the ability to “drop in” on each other. It’s nice to sit on the couch as a family here as he sits at his desk working and having a long conversation. He’ll drop in during basketball games to interact with DH. It makes it feel like he’s here with us! When our kids are home (they both have dots) we use it as an in house intercom.
Clever!!!
Prime members read free on the Kindle?! How did I not know this?!!!!
I haven’t been able to get the Prime Reading to work for me so if anyone has any tips or suggestions, I would love to hear them. I select Prime Reading after I log in but it always wants to charge either regular price or Kindle Unlimited price. I’m stumped!
