What I Wore Lately Vol. 104

Good morning, and happy Wednesday! I hope your week is going well. We are having the most glorious spring weather… chilly mornings, warm and sunny afternoons, a nice breeze. It is perfection!

So many years it goes from winter to summer with barely a week of spring weather in between, so I’m soaking this up while it lasts! I actually took three walks yesterday — one with the dog, one with a friend, and then one with Paul. If I keep this up, I’ll be all ready for Italy in a few months!

Okay, enough chatter. Today I’m sharing What I Wore Lately… a roundup of my everyday outfits from the past two weeks.

What I Wore Lately: Two Weeks of Everyday Outfits

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and I usually wear a small in tops and dresses, a 29 in jeans, and a size 8 shoe. Gifted items are indicated by c/o; everything else I purchased myself.

I wore this first outfit to Bible Study two weeks ago. Our weather really has changed since then! My cotton cable knit sweater was a Saks OFF 5TH find, and it’s gone now, but this one is similar. I like to keep a cotton sweater like this in my summer closet to wear with shorts at the beach or for cooler evenings here by the pool.

I’ve been getting together with friends to walk every other week, and the first time we went, I realized I needed a small bag to hold my phone and car key so I could lock my car and not have to hold my phone.

So… I got myself one of those trendy Lululemon belt bags. This is the 1L size, so it’s just big enough for my phone, key fob, and a couple of tissues.

That night was the spring band concert, and it had warmed up a little by then, so I threw on this blouse with light wash blue jeans and my taupe loafer mules.

I wore this next outfit on a college tour with my high schooler. The jacket is old, sorry!

The next day was our high school’s junior/senior prom, and I went over that morning to help set up.

I changed for pictures that evening, and Paul and I hung out with friends afterwards. This girl…. When did she grow up into such a beautiful young lady!?!

This is what I wore to church the next day…. I finally got to wear that Eileen Fisher tank dress that I styled in Florida back in March!

I came home and changed into shorts and a tank top to sit by the pool.

I had a photoshoot the next day, and I wore this outfit to run errands on the way home.

Then I changed into the same KUT from the Kloth shorts for the afternoon.

I wore this outfit to Bible Study, and then I just took off the jacket and wore the white tee and jeans to work from home that afternoon.

I wore this casual look to work from home the next day. My linen dolman tee is sold out in the navy, but I found a couple of other options that I linked below.

I’ve been getting weekly spray tans, and I have to wear lose clothes for the rest of the day until I’m allowed to shower, so I don’t get any weird marks. These Vuori Halo Straight Leg Crops are perfect for that. My tank is old, but I linked a similar style.

The next day, I wore this fun top with my faithful KUT from the Kloth Porkchop Shorts. I keep forgetting to put the rest of my shorts in my closet, so I keep wearing these!

We had tickets to The Hooters concert that night, thanks to my brother-in-law and sister-in-law inviting us. We met them for dinner first, and then walked over to the concert.

I wanted to wear something like this… It’s hard to see in these pictures, but this twist trim tank has really pretty details.

But as comfortable as those shoes are, I was afraid I couldn’t stand in them all night. So then I changed into shorter jeans and flat sandals with a molded footbed… but something about the proportions of this outfit didn’t seem quite right. (Here’s a funny thing… The woman in line behind me at the concert was wearing these exact jeans!)

So then I decided to go with an all-black outfit, and I changed into my tried and true Fidelity Cher slim straight ankle jeans. As I said in My 2023 Spring Denim Favorites, these are my go-to for black jeans this spring!

I was planning to wear the wedge sandals to dinner and change into flats for the concert, but then Paul told me we were walking over, so I just wore the flats. I also left my jacket in the car.

Last Saturday was a weird, dreary, humid day in the middle of a bunch of really nice days. I mostly puttered around the house and worked from home, although I did run out that night to grab pizza for some of my daughter’s friends who came over to swim that evening. I just wore this athleisure look all day.

Zella tee (S) // Vuori Boyfriend Joggers (S) // ON sneakers (8.5) // Lagos earrings

And that brings us to Mother’s Day! I got so many compliments on this dress; it really is such a pretty color.

I changed into a tank top and shorts for the afternoon. Paul grilled steaks, and then we watched the Sixers blow game 7 of the NBA playoffs… or at least, we watched until we couldn’t stand it any longer, and then I went out to the deck with my laptop and finished up my 2022 photo book. That made me feel much better!

The next day, I had a bunch of appointments, and I finally wore this pink tee from WHBM. I’ve tried to wear it a few times, but always end up putting on something else because it has kind of a weird fit.

The slub fabric is soft and has a nice texture, and I love the design of the sleeves and the neckline, but I’m always adjusting it. Then it’s kind of snug at the hem, which makes it awkward to front tuck. I feel like it’s too big in the shoulders and too small at the bottom. It’s such a pretty color, though, so I keep trying to work with it.

WHBM Power tee (S) // similar Frame denim // Tory Burch slides (8) // Lagos earrings // similar necklace

And finally, I wore this outfit yesterday to meet a friend for breakfast. I love a simple white tee and bluejeans outfit!

Frame tee (XS) (similar for less) // PAIGE Anessa (more sizes) (similar option) (29) (similar for less) // Vince Camuto slides (7.5) // Lagos earrings // Victoria Emerson bracelet c/o // similar necklace) // AllSaints belt (M) // straw clutch

I stayed in that outfit for a while after I got home, but I eventually changed into a comfier pair of jeans. Those PAIGE Anessa jeans are a little too snug around my waist, and the rise is so high, I just can’t wear them all day like I can my MOTHER and Frame jeans.

And I got a stain on my white tee, so I put it in the wash and threw on this super soft Splendid tee that’s like 5 years old. Later on, I changed into my On Cloud running shoes to go walking with a friend before dinner.

Whew! That’s a lot! I often wonder if I should do these posts weekly, but that would probably get old. I hope you have a great rest of the day, and that it’s as beautiful where you are as it is here!

  1. I walk daily and the Lululemon belt bag is perfect, isn’t it?! I have a little blinking light I clip to the back of the belt to help make me more visible too. I love all the pockets in the bag too. I’ve been getting weekly spray tans as well and I’ve been playing around with face self tanners for in between. I know you use Clarins for your body, but do you (or anyone) recommend one for your face? I’ve tried Clarins and St Tropez face tanners but they gave me zero results. I like the kind you add to moisturizers since spray/self tanning is so drying and I live in a very dry climate anyway.

    1. I’ve actually been wanting to find one for my face. I do get the spray tan on my face, but I am getting ready to get my microblading touched up so I won’t have her spray my face the next few times.

  2. RealID is the way to go. If you have a valid passport then you are good to go. You need to really have one or the other to be safe. It’s just easier to go with a realID as who carries there passport with them at all times. Enjoy your blog & instagram!! Keep up your great content!!!

  3. I have a few favorites from this post but the one with the green jacket would be my go to! Also love the last lunch out pic!
Your daughter looked beautiful in her prom dress!
Do you think the Vuori crop pants would be too long on me at 5’2? I love the Vuori line.

  4. Every time I see those TB slides, I want to buy a pair….they look like they have a little more cushion than the TB Millers. I’m getting to where I can’t wear my Millers for long periods of time, especially when I’m walking or on my feet a lot. Also love the woven handbag. Yes, your daughter is looking so grown up and just beautiful <3 Hope prom night was a lot of fun for her! Love these posts — thank you!

    1. They might be a little bit more cushioned, but there is no support, and because they’re a slide (and I have low profile feet) I tend to walk out of them if I’m not careful. I still love them tho!

  5. Those Fidelity jeans look fabulous on you! I don’t see you wear those that often. Do you like them as well as the Mother brand jeans? Any differences in fit?

    1. They are my only pair of Fidelity denim (except for the white shorts, also in this post) and they are a little big in the waist and tight in the hips, but I don’t mind b/c usually pants are too tight in the waist and it’s so nice not to feel squished! LOL.

  6. Great post- I love the What I Wore Lately posts! Curious about your photo book-the what, where and how??

  7. I try to do a twenty-block (roundtrip) powerwalk, weather permitting, every morning between 8-9. It’s through the same neighborhood I grew up in; however, it’s only me aaannnddd: I carry an old drawstring gym water bottle size bag with me, filled with either two cans of frozen club soda or two wrist weights to swing at somebody if they were up to no good and started coming near me(!).

  8. Becca is beautiful!
I love the linen tee from Gap. I also got the coral, but I keep reaching for the navy.
The dress from Talbots looks so good on you.
I’m also interested in your photo book.

  9. Love all the outfits, the bold print top is really pretty love the colors. Good photo of you and Becca, she looks so pretty and grown up, the dress color is so pretty on her!

  10. Another great post of relatable outfits – yay & TY.
The Real ID will not be required if you have a valid US Passport. You do not need both. I also have a small wallet-size Passport card (check the box on passport appl or renewal form) to use when Real ID is ultimately required for domestic travel so I’m not carrying my passport with me just to fly to another state. Hope that helps.

  11. We just did the passport paperwork for my kids (one is heading to Canada with scouts this summer). We were able to get an original birth certificate the same day in the county where she was born. It’s a couple of weeks wait for the order online and get it in the mail option. Maybe that’s an option for you too! Get on it, there isn’t anything worse than not having the correct paperwork when you need it!

  12. Our weather is beautiful too. Finally after a rainy, dreary beginning of Spring. Such a great picture of you and Becca. She looks so pretty and grown up in that picture. I hope she is doing okay with her Celiac’s. I know its a new challenge for her. As for REAL ID, I have always put it off too. I don’t have a passport, so need to at least have it. I can go into Canada with REAL ID I believe. What do you mean about the new social security cards? I haven’t heard anything. I love all the outfits you’ve put together. I love the Kut from the Kloth denim shorts with the patch pockets and NO raw hem. I think they may be too short for me. I prefer no shorter than 4″. I prefer 5″ shorts. Do you know of anywhere else to look for similar style with longer length? Have a great day.

  13. You have in your email message, “Somehow, I do not have a birth certificate”. That is why people are commenting on birth certificate and confused by what you mean for new social security card. 😀

    1. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I was wondering!!! I even looked back at it but I just saw where I said SS card in the 2nd paragraph. I must need more coffee!

  14. do you know the length of the Kut from the Kloth shorts? I found one pair in my size but they state 3 1/2″. They don’t look that short on you. Thanks, trying to decide!

      1. Ordered and delivered from Northstrom yesterday, you are right about the length, they are not too short and love the fit and fabrication. I got the last pair which was my size! Thanks!

  15. I always love these posts! Seeing how you really dress for your days, does me a lot of good, I hope you had a great day!

  16. Love these posts and all the time and effort you put into your blog. You daughter looks beautiful. Love her dress. Hope she had a great time!

  17. I’m finally catching up on your emails! My oldest graduated from high school Friday, and I had no idea how stressful and exhausting that would be! I turned 41 on Thursday, and went to renew my drivers license, and also make it a Real ID. Well, ALL the state computers were down and they could not do ANYTHING for 3 days. It was terrible. I finally got it done today, and it was super easy. Your daughter looked absolutely beautiful for her prom!
