These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things . . .

I borrowed/stole this idea from fancythis.

Lancome Amplicils mascara.

This stuff ROCKS.  I’ve been using it for 20 years (no lie) and I have never found anything like it.  I know, I know, everyone swears Maybelline is just as good as the pricer brands.  Talk to the hand.

Dansko clogs.

These are my "go-to" shoes.  They are the ones I always slip on when I’m running outside to grab the mail or to walk my son to the bus stop.  They are comfortable and supportive, so they’re great when I want something practical, and I can wear them All. Day. Long.  And I personally think they are rather attractive on the foot, not as clunky as you might think.  I mean, they don’t hold a candle to a stiletto heel in the fashion department, but I’m a mom, whaddya want from me?  Blood?

All-Clad stainless pots.

My mom treated me to a set of All-Clad pots and pans for Christmas a few years ago, and I don’t know how I ever cooked before I had these.  They are fabulous.

Wusthof Culinar 7" Santoku knife.

This thing rocks.  If I had only one knife in my kitchen, it would be this one.  I used to hate any recipe that required chopping until I got my Santoku, and now I chop any vegetable I can get my hands on.  And if I’m hormonal, you better stay out of my way.  This baby could be a serious weapon.

Magnetic Knife Holder.

This keeps my knives out of the way of inquisitive little baby hands.

Glass Plus Wipes.

These keep my bathrooms gleaming between cleanings.  I have recently started keeping a tub of them under every sink, and when I’m done gittin’ ready in the mornings, I wipe everything down.

Jewelry Cleaner.

I’m always horrified when people say that they never clean their fine jewelry.  For what your husband paid for that gorgeous diamond ring, don’t you owe it to him to keep it sparkling and gorgeous at all times!?  I try to clean mine at least once a week.

Holly reminded me about my favorite jeans.  I definitely couldn’t live without jeans.  These are Luckys, and I do adore them, although they are starting to pill badly on the thighs.  That is disappointing, to say the least.

So what are a few of your favorite things?  Products you can’t live without?

  1. I really, really want some great knives….I guess hubby would think it was crazy if I asked for that for Christmas!!!

I’m not sure I have too many specific can’t live withouts…mine are more generic, like I can’t live without lots of flip flops to slip on around here. I love low cut socks…goofy I know! I love pj’s, but not gowns. I love great lip liners and lipstick and would own a million if I wouldn’t lose them all!

  2. Okay, I’m going to have to take some time and research each item. I use none of it. I would love new pans and a good knife. Most of the glass cleaner wipes I’ve tried, leave streaks. And my rings are filthy. So, I might be adding somethings to my Christmas list and doing some shopping!!

    Thanks!

  3. I love my All Clad and Wusthofs, too. And I’ve recently discovered Eucerin Calming Lotion via my mom. It hasn’t stood the test of a harsh long Illinois winter yet, but from what I’ve seen, I have hope that I might not turn into a dried up crusty prune for 3 months. It’s darn good stuff! I also adore my DustBuster portable vaccuum and my NEW JEANS! 🙂

  4. I totally agree that a decent knife makes cooking infinitely more fun. And I also have one of the magnetic knife holders – LOVE it! 🙂

So, All-clad is worth it, huh? I need some new skillets – maybe now I know what to hint for. he he

  5. Fun idea! Those clogs are the best, Dansko right? I’m going to look for a knife like that, because I dread chopping. I’ve toyed with the idea of the knife holder too–great idea–but I haven’t tried it yet.

What about your fave jeans–Lucky?!? 🙂

  6. I do a “Things I Love Thursdays” and here are a few of my faves: Neutrogena MoistureShine Lip Balm. It’s like chapstick with a little color- it’s so good, Neutrogena Healthy Defense Moisturizer (no I don’t work for Neutrogena just like most of their stuff)and the new Febreeze candles. I like that they’re not super smelly, but they do eliminate smells.

  7. I love posts like this. I do a Five Friday Favorites post most weeks – it’s so much fun finding things to share with everyone. Love those jeans!

  8. Well the only thing of those that I have is the jewelry cleaner, and you’re right. For $4 you can have an easy cleaner that will last forever.

  9. I love me those glass plus wipes. All of the wipes in fact. haven’t used paper towels and spray in forever and I’m soooooo happy about it!!

  10. I love those shoes–too cute! I use the same jewelry cleaner, also about once a week. I love my new Christopher Blue jeans, clorox wipes (couldn’t live without them), and my Lancome makeup, sure it’s expensive, but there is definitely a difference!

  11. I’ve not heard of Dansko Clogs…would they be comfortable enough if I stand for 6 hours a day at Costco?! I demo products…my feet hurt really bad at the end of the day!
