Top Ten in April 2021

Happy Monday, friends! May is here, and the worst of the fickle spring months are behind us. I could not be happier about that.

At the beginning of a new month, I like to take a look back at the previous month’s stats and see what products and posts were the most popular, so today I’m sharing my Top Ten in April 2021!

Top 10 Posts in April 2021

Based on Google Analytics, these were the 10 most popular blog posts that I published last month. These posts are listed in typical Top Ten order, with the most popular one last.

#10. Outfit Making Jacket + Spring Essentials at Zappos

This is one of my favorite outfits from the month. I actually wore a version of this on Saturday. The jeans have been restocked at Zappos, or you can get them directly from KUT from the Kloth, and the jacket is also available at KUT from the Kloth.

The jacket is TTS, or size up if in between (I have my usual size small.) I recommend sizing down one in the jeans (I have the 4.)

#9. 23 Days of Spring Fashion Recap

There’s tons of spring outfit inspiration in here, if you need it! A lot of these pieces are still in stock, or hopefully you can use them for inspiration to shop your closet.

#8. April Favorites

I rounded up some of my favorite fashion and beauty products I’ve been enjoying this month in this post.

#7. My Spring 2021 Denim Favorites

And in this post, I rounded up my favorite jeans this spring. I’m trying to branch out from my beloved skinnies, but it can take quite a bit of trial and error to figure out the tops and shoes with these more relaxed styles. If you’re feeling that frustration, you’re not alone!

#6. A New Spring Try-On Haul

My Try-On Hauls usually rank in the top spots, but this month, I only had one rank in the Top Ten, and it is #6. Whoah!

I’m not sure if that means I’m doing a really good job creating other types of content, or if my Try-On Hauls aren’t resonating at the moment. Let me know if there’s anything in particular you’d like to see me try.

#5. What I Wore Lately

Again, with What I Wore Lately. It’s interesting that there is only one in the Top Ten, and it is #5. This one encompasses what I wore while in Florida on Easter vacation.

#4. My Spring-Summer Closet

My Spring-Summer 2021 Wardrobe

I always get requests for this post, so I had Alison take some pictures when she was out here a couple weeks ago. My wardrobe is always in a state of flux, due to the nature of my job, but this is pretty much how it looks right now.

#3. Casual Alternatives to Shorts

Casual Alternatives to Shorts for Women Over 40

Always a popular post, I decided to update and republish this one early this season. I will be featuring a lot of shorts in the next few months, but this post is always a good reference for those who prefer other options.

#2. What I Packed for Florida

This is another post that was requested when you all learned I was taking a trip, and I guess you liked it since it’s #2! I shared what I brought, and what I might have done differently had I realized we would be pretty much living in swimsuits all week.

Disclaimer: I am an unapologetic over-packer, so don’t open this post looking for advice on packing light. I’m also not looking for advice on packing light. I like to have choices, and I don’t mind checking a gigantic bag. I’m extra and I own it! 🤪

#1. 2021 Swimsuit Guide

2021 Swimsuit Guide: Swimsuits for Women Over 40

My swimsuit guide is always popular, but wow, I didn’t expect it to land in first place! Very interesting. Swimsuits really aren’t my thing, but they’re a necessary evil, especially now that we have a pool. Fortunately, these days there are lots of options for every body type.

Okay, moving on to popular products…

Top 10 Products in April 2021

These were the 10 most popular products across my blog and social channels last month. They’re listed in typical Top Ten order, with the most popular one last.

#10. Caslon Rounded V-Neck Tee

These flattering rounded-neck t-shirts come in TONS of colors and prints, and I always have a white one in my closet. They run true to size (I have a small), and they wash and dry up nicely. Get the rest of these outfit details in THIS POST.

#9. BP. Sage Slide Sandal

These sandals are a good budget-buy, and I love the minimalist barely-there styling. They have a slightly molded footbed that is more comfortable than you would expect, and I found the straps to be comfortable enough, but some say they rub. I guess it probably depends on your individual foot. For size reference, I sized down half, as I typically do in slides.

#8. BlankNYC Drape Front Faux Suede Jacket

This jacket has been around for a few years, and it’s such a good little outfit completer for in-between seasons. I wear mine a lot in spring and fall. Size up, if ordering; I always take a medium in BlankNYC jackets. Get the rest of these outfit details HERE.

#7. Via Spiga Belted Water Repellent Trench Coat

My trench is from a few years ago, but I found a similar one at Nordstrom, and it’s on sale for $99. I prefer a single-breasted style, as it isn’t as bulky and looks better with a larger chest. Get the rest of these outfit details HERE.

#6. La Blanca V-Neck Lace Tunic Cover Up

This picture is from our Florida vacation. In fact, I purchased this cover up for another Florida vacation with my best friends back in 2018. I remember the year because it was also the year we bought this house. I got it on Amazon, and amazingly, it’s still available!

I don’t wear it much here at home, but I like how it elevates a swimsuit when you want to walk over to the snack bar, or you’re going to and from your room at a resort.

#5. Dolce Vita Izabel Stud Slide Sandals

These are by far and away my favorite sandal purchase this spring. They seem to go with everything, and they’re very comfortable.

I did NOT size down in these, as I typically do in slides. Because there are straps set back close to the the ankle, my feet don’t slide as far forward in them as they do in most other slides.

#4. Free People Camo Clare Tee

I love this tee so much I have it in two prints. The Black Camo is from last season, and this Wild Thing print is new this year. I love how it pairs with black shorts or jeans.

This tee runs true to size or you can size up if in between (I have the small.) It washes up nicely, but I do recommend laying it flat to dry. Get details on the rest of this outfit in THIS POST.

#3. Treasure & Bond Twist Detail T-Shirt

This is one of my favorite t-shirts; in fact, I should probably get it in another color. It’s sooooo soft, the twist detail and rolled sleeves give it an extra element of interest, and the price is amazing for the quality.

It’s true to size (I have the small), or you could size down for a closer fit. Get full outfit details in THIS POST.

#2. Caslon Rolled Denim Boyfriend Shorts

These shorts are extremely soft and comfortable, and I really like the 4″ inseam. The cuff is sewn this way, so there are no options to unroll it, just be aware of that.

Size down in these, for sure. I’m wearing the 4, and I wonder if I could even get away with the 2. (I’m typically a 6, or sometimes even an 8 in shorts.) Get the rest of these outfit details HERE.

And the winner is… DRUMROLL PLEASE!!! 🥁

#1. Daily Ritual Girlfriend Jeans

These jeans from Amazon are a really good budget-friendly buy. They’re very comfortable, and they nailed the straight crop styling.

I feel like they’re more flattering than most jeans I’ve tried in this style, and they don’t bag out. These are the Bleach Wash, and they run true to size; I have the 6. (Also wearing the Lou & Grey star sweater and Everlane woven clogs.)

And that’s a wrap! I always like to ask, which posts from April were your favorites, and did you score any of these Top Ten products?

  1. I enjoy seeing which of your posts really resonated with your readers. If I don’t have a pair of light wash jeans in my closet, I need to see about ordering the ones from Amazon. And I want to look into the Treasure and Bond tee at Nordstrom, as well. I’m so glad y’all had a nice weekend and that you had some good downtime! I hope that you have a great day and that Savannah is much better!

  2. I love the Top Ten posts. And I’m with you on the over-packing. Actually, I don’t consider it over-packing. I like to be prepared for what-ifs! lol

  3. Love this post, Jo-Lynne!! I especially like #8 in Top Ten Products!! Maybe I missed this somewhere, but what is the denim in this outfit? Love them!! Thanks for all you do!! Have a blessed day!!

  4. I just received the Dolce Vita Isabel Stud Sandals this afternoon and I LOVE them! I had ordered two colors of the twist detail tee, gray and black, they are so soft. I know I’ll enjoy them all summer.

  5. I too received the Dolce Vita Isabel stud sandals today but they are too big. The smaller size coming. :). They are so cute.
