Top Ten in August 2021

Well, I blinked, and suddenly it’s September! This month we’ll be diving headfirst into fall fashion and transition style, but first, let’s take a look back at last month’s stats to see what products and posts were the most popular in August.

Top 10 Posts in August 2021

Based on Google Analytics, these were the 10 most popular blog posts that I published last month. These posts are listed in typical Top Ten order, with the most popular one last.

#10. August Favorites // This is a recent post, with a lot of my favorite items at the moment.

WHAT I WORE LATELY: Everyday outfit ideas for women over 40#9. What I Wore Lately Vol. 60 // Only one of these posts ranked this month. I wasn’t feeling terribly inspired for summer fashion last month, but I’m super excited for transition style in September!

#8. The Shoe Color Trend Everyone Is Loving This Fall // I’ve had so much fun doing these DSW posts with my girls this fall! R’s been wearing her Birks almost non-stop, and C brought her hiking boots to college with her. I’m sure she’ll be glad to have those in a few months. As for me, I’m looking forward to wearing my new Marc Fisher fashion boots. They’re so comfortable, and this color is super versatile.

What to Wear with Light Wash Jeans for Fall#7. What To Wear With Light Wash Jeans This Fall // I keep getting asked if light was jeans will still be trending this fall. Yes, they will! And this is how to wear them.

#6. Things that I’ve Had For 2 Years Or More (That I Still Wear) // This post was a reader request, and it made for some good conversation. To clarify, I know most people keep a lot of clothing for more than two years. It was asked of me because of my job and how quickly I cycle things through my closet.

#5. My Best & Worst Purchases: Spring-Summer 2021 // These posts are always popular. It was fun to hear your thoughts!

#4. Five Colors To Have In Your Closet This Fall // I’m loving the trending fall colors this year, so Cyndi and I decided to focus our fall fashion series on fall color trends. We will be styling a different fall color trend every Monday in September!

#3. What Boots Are In Style For 2021 // This is the question everyone is asking… I hope this post helps! I’m still figuring out how to make these new boot and denim styles work together, so stay tuned for more posts on that!

#2. Fall Wardrobe Essentials // Always a popular post this time of year, it has now been updated with current styles and active links!

#1. What Shoes To Wear With A Black Dress // Wow, this one went gangbusters!!! So glad you liked it.

Okay, moving on to popular products…

#4. Blondo Drew Waterproof Bootie // Loving this slightly more elevated lug sole bootie, and the zipper detail is a fun touch. They’re waterproof, and true to size.

#3. Freya Idol Underwire Balconette Bra // My go-to t-shirt bra. Or really, my everything bra. It’s the only one I wear. I have a few colors and I just rotate through and wash them all every week or two. It runs true to size, just make sure you are looking at the US sizing.

#2. Nordstrom Cashmere Sweater // So glad to see this fall wardrobe essential back this year. It comes in a really nice array of colors and neutrals. My charcoal is from last year, but there is a lighter grey this year that I really like.

#1. Caslon Open Cardigan // Yes, for the second month in a row! This is such a good cardigan at a great price, and happily, it’s back in stock! There are some other good colors too.

So yeah, that’s it for August and for summer style! Although, thanks to the #NSale running from mid-July till the first week of August, there has already been a lot of fall style on the blog already. But I’m excited to actually start wearing some more transitional looks, and figuring out how to make the trending denim silhouettes work for me… and hopefully you too, if you’re interested in experimenting with them as well.
