25 Days of Summer Fashion Recap

Good morning from Portsmouth, New Hampshire! We’re on our way to Bangor, Maine, and we stopped over here last night to rest and recharge before starting the final leg of our journey. The most direct route to our place in Maine takes us through New York City across the GW Bridge, and even on a good day it’s a bit of a harrowing experience (in fact, the entire drive is pretty rough) so we rarely do it all in one day.

This is one of our favorite places to stop on the way and walk around and explore a new restaurant. There is no shortage of great places to eat in Portsmouth. Even when we are driving straight through, we try to time it so we can have lunch at our favorite little burger joint called Lexie’s Place. (Look it up if you’re ever driving through.)

Last night we ate at Row 34 — a hip oyster bar and seafood restaurant located downtown and just a short walk from our hotel. (I always research on Trip Advisor when we are going somewhere new to find a good place to eat — it’s my favorite way to pass time in the car, haha! I’m such an info junkie. I love researching and reading reviews.) I was actually a bit underwhelmed by the food, but the wine was good (I had the rosé) and the atmosphere was really cool. It was the perfect way to finish off the day.

I’m excited to get on up to Maine today. My parents are already at their lake house and we’ve been texting all along the way to keep them posted. It will be so nice to get there and have a week to relax and enjoy one of my favorite places on earth.

The timing for our vacation worked out perfectly this year because it’s right between my summer style series and the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale — both of which are always a bit of a whirlwind for the blog. Last year I spent a lot of time working during our Maine vacation and I’m hoping to take it slower this year.

And that’s the perfect segue!

25 Summer Outfits Recap

After each seasonal style series, Cyndi and I like to post a recap so we have all of our looks in one place for easy reference so today I’m compiling my 25 summer outfits into this post.

Every time we do one of these, I feel like I get better at creating a variety of outfits and integrating some new trends into my tried and true looks. Left to my own devices, I would live in jeans and a t-shirt, so it helps me to venture out of my comfort zone and try new things, and I certainly hope you’ve found it helpful as well!

So they are… my 25 summer outfits! (If you’re active on Pinterest, I would be so honored if you to would pin this picture so others can find it. Thank you!)

Let’s break it down by week (and these aren’t exactly in the right order, so don’t let that confuse you. Ha!

Week One:

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5

Week Two:

6 // 7 // 8 // 9 // 10

Week Three:

11 // 12 // 13 // 14 // 15

Week Four:

16 // 17 // 18 // 19 // 20

Week Five:

21 // 22  // 23 // 24 // 25

And that’s a wrap! Considering I had vertigo for a good portion of this style series, I think I did pretty well!

I think I like almost all of these looks — that’s how far I’ve come in the past few years because there are almost always a few outfits I kind of hate in every style series. I’m not even sure I can pick favorites this time. I love #21 because that’s just how I roll, but I also really like #22 (yay for a print!) and #11 and #15 for great jeans outfits and #2 for a dressier look. I need to wear that dress again. I almost forgot I had it. I like #11 a lot too. And #23. Okay, I’ll stop. Ha!

Anyway, I hope this has been as fun for you as it has been for me.

Don’t miss my July 4th sales post, as there are so many good ones right now! And if I don’t check in tomorrow, I hope you have a fantastic 4th of July!

  1. GM Jolynne!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! First, for some amazing posts and great summer outfit inspirations. Second, for sharing those comfort sandales from The Walking Co in week 4. I ordered them in black and got them on sale, which was great because I normally don’t like to pay over $100 for sandals, but boy were these so worth it! It’s so hard to find comfy shoes you can walk a lot in that are trendy and cute. I work part time managing a Clubhouse and glad I don’t see the same people everyday because I am wearing these shoes a lot…lol. And last but not least, for inspiring me to wear cute summer dresses since I can’t seem to find shorts that fit properly. Great job on the Summer series and enjoy your well deserved week with your family. I can only imagine how beautiful Maine is in the summer.

  2. Great Summer series. Love how you guys give us a post with all of the looks in one place. Nice idea for sure. Have a great family vacation. 🙂

  3. I bought outfit #14 and I love the kimono! It’s really pretty & I’ve worn it with shorts, ankle skinnies, and short dresses.
Enjoy your Maine vacation! (New England states are next on my list of places to visit. 🙂 )
